Surely the only languages that are not weird are those specifically designed to be widely spoken?
And no-one wants to speak those!

Some of the flickering can be gotten rid of by disabling hardware-acceleration for qtwebengine.
I've got
`export QTWEBENGINE_DISABLE_GPU_THREAD=1
export QTWEBENGINE_CHROMIUM_FLAGS="--disable-gpu-compositing --num-raster-threads=1 --enable-viewport --main-frame-resizes-are-orientation-changes --disable-composited-antialiasing"`
in .bashrc.
Note that there is still enough flickering left to annoy, and some (appimage?) apps dont seem to register the setting.

What unholy bastards the people who own the sites they promote are.

I've noticed the theme come up in other countries, amongst these France, but I'll grant that I may have overestimated its importance by overfitting to prior knowledge.

The purpose of copyright in the USA, and as far as I know in Brittain, yes.
But please remember that in much of the rest of the world copyright is a reaction to people, creators, getting in trouble over third party usage of their creations.
Leading to the idea that a creator should have the power to stop people from using their works for whatever the creator deems objectionable.

That sounds like a really good idea if the site thinks the reason they're a lot of different lock-on attemps from that one ip is because its a hacker with a list of stolen credentials.
Basically just tell them their list is fake and "go away and stop bothering our customers, please."

State law is one thing, but to me it seems obvous that "his or her right to be secure in their papers" has been broken.
Edit: Unfortunately the founders formulated that as a limit on government, again not actually succeding in securing any rights.

Apart from the fact that none of us seems to be really on top of the whole sign-up thing, I really don't see how.
I mean sure if anybody manages to get sign-up working and the the hordes come rolling in, sure, but as it is they'll just hit a blank unresponsive wall and have to make their own instances.
Wont they?

I know this propably wont affect everyone since Youtube doesn't roll out new ideas universally, but my youtube experience this last week has been unusually bad in other ways too.
The algorithm digging far moral outrages up and the button to turn of autoplay no-where in sight.
So yeah, but I'm afraid that Youtube isn't reddit level dysfunctional, If Peertube, if we, start winning, Youtube will improve.
So There's This System where you can specify which language you're writing in, and I always write in English. So why, oh God why, does it keep insisting on changing it to Danish? I mean, Kbin please, could you ask me? Or just bloody remember what I *always* set it to (when I accidentially remember to set it)? [\#AskKbin](https://kbin.social/tag/AskKbin)
So, I've just set up my own peertube instance over at tube.puggaard-nyborg.dk, and that was surprising simple. Or I should say that the instructions were surprisingly clear and correct, more so than what I've seen from other comparable open-source system. Anyway, easy-peasy. And now I want to follow some other instances, so I go looking at [PeerTube instances](https://instances.joinpeertube.org/instances). And ye Gods are there a lot of ... people who don't agree with me politically. Do any of you people out there know of a listing of instances-instances? I'd settle for an instances-instance that leans anarchist, if you of any such beast?
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70ML-MPjvNY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70ML-MPjvNY) This works surprisingly well.
