I think something that could really help would be for people in power to give these immigrants a platform to tell their story, why they're here, and what their life is like. The fascists fuel their movement by dehumanizing the other. We should be trying to publicly humanize them as much as possible to counter that.
But I also totally understand why they wouldn't want to be put under that kind of spotlight. Unfortunately, that's exactly what these Republican domestic terrorists want.

In addition to the fact that pointing out fascist rhetoric is important in general,
This fear campaign against Springfield’s Haitian immigrants contains echoes of some of the oldest xenophobic stereotypes.
Vance began to speak about Springfield in early July...
There, Vance mentioned Springfield as part of a line of questioning that sought to tie immigration to inflated housing costs across the country.
Vance ratcheted up his rhetoric the following day at the National Conservatism conference.
From a city official mentioned in the article
The sad thing is none of this was stirred up until JD Vance started publicizing it,” Ruby told TPM. “It was an internal thing that we were handling and handling well.
So they aren't just spouting crazy shit, this is intentional and calculated, to divide and defeat a city that was already on the right path

Try out the Wayfarer's series! Becky Chambers is amazing. Her books are wholesome and character focused, and give you a great feel of what it would be like living in that setting.
I also really like Brandon Sanderson's Cytoverse. It's a fantastic adventure that will keep surpsing you, but it is YA, so be ready for a little silliness.

Companies still shouldn't steal fanart. If a fan makes something they like, they should work with the fan to make it official in a way that satisfies both parties. The community would love seeing that, and the company would get what they want for a reasonable price, and probably still cheaper than paying their own artists.

It would be the right move for them to swap now, but I don't think Trump will, because it'll make him look weak, like he made a bad pick, and that's all he (and many a Trump voter) cares about. The longer they leave it, the less likely it happens, and the more damage it does to their campaign

1 season, 24 episodes. That's the limit of my knowledge about it though. I just heard about it from some else's recommendation lol
A lot of memes I across the Internet are about how everyone, no matter how old, is just a kid inside, trying to figure out what's going on, which is something I definitely identify with. But every once in a while, something happens that does actually make me feel like a grown-up. It's usually small, and kind of silly, but it's fun, and I thought people might want to share theirs. For me, most recently, it was realizing I like Greek yogurt now. It was trendy when I was like 12, and I couldn't stand it then, but I bought some on a whim, and now I keep the fridge stocked. That drastic change in my tastes took me aback momentarily, but I thought it was a nice fun little milestone. How about you?
This is a personal creation, so I apologize if the name is already taken. *1.5oz gin *1oz Amaro Sfumato Rabarbaro *.75oz honey syrup *.5oz lemon juice Shaken and served with an expressed lemon peel, and a dash of Hummingbird Bitters
It must be hard to eclipse the Equinox
Unfortunately, you can't get real Orion Dulac in Michigan, so this is my take on what Mariner would have served Those Old Scientists * 1.5oz White rum (I used Plantation 3 Star) * .75oz Cinnamon syrup * .75oz Lime juice * .5oz Absinthe (I used what they make at my local distillery, American Fifth) * .5oz John D. Taylor Velvet Falernum Liqueur * 1 barspoon Blue curaçao (for colour) Shake, and double strain. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, and slowly pour in two barspoon of grenadine so that it sinks to the bottom. This could also be swapped for butterfly pea flower syrup, which is purple. I just wanted the grenadine flavor

This is for an upcoming session this Saturday. I've never been the kind of person that's into drawing, but I'm GMing my own PTU campaign, and I hated making maps online lol I've been practicing for about a week now, and I'm pretty happy with this little map. The setting is a small cave, complete with giant mushrooms, crystals, and a pond, which served as the improvised "break room," for a couple of miners my players found the skeletons of at the end of the last session.
First cocktail made in my new bar! Just moved, and finally have it set up. Lots of decorating left for the new space though. This is a basic twist on a Daquiri. * 3oz Angostura 5 Year Caribbean Rum * 1.5oz lime juice * .66oz rich symple syrup (.75oz if you use 1:1) * 3-4 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters Shake, double strain, and garnish with a lime wedge.
The ultimate brunch cocktail. Equal parts gin, orange liqueur, Lillet Blanc, and lemon juice, shaken and served in an absinthe rinsed coupe. I think this drink alone is enough reason to keep Lillet on hand. American Fifth is my local distillery; I highly recommend their spirits if you get the chance, but any absinthe will do here.
Mostly wanted to post because I feel like I did a really good job on the sugared rim lol This is one of my favorite cocktails 1.5oz brandy .75oz orange liqueur .75oz lemon juice Shake, double strain, serve in a glass with a sugared rim, and garnish with a orange twist. I expressed mine.
Maybe a little too meta, but I think we could use Dukat for memes specifically meant to express funny, but bad, opinions
It's been a while, but I got some new glassware, and wanted to try it out. I felt like a Nuclear Daquiri was appropriate for leaded crystal. I tweaked the recipe a bit to my own tastes, I'll denote that below * 1oz Overproof White Rum - Wray and Nephew * .5oz White Rum - Plantation 3 Star (omit for basic recipe) * .66oz Galliano (Green Chartreuse for basic recipe) * .75oz Lime Juice * .33oz Falernum Shake and double strain, garnish however you like
I've got a garnish this time! - 1.5oz Blended black rum - Plantation OFTD - 1.5oz Aged rum - Plantation 5 Year - 1.5oz Orange juice - 1.5oz Lime juice - 1.5oz Passionfruit syrup - 3oz Club soda to top Shake with ice and strain into a glass with more ice. Top with club soda. Garnish with a mint sprig and a sidewinder
I always like to do a cocktail for releases of things I'm excited for. This is based on Greg from How to Drink's recipe, but with a few tweaks - 1.5oz Wray and Nephew - 1.5oz Plantation 5 Year - .75oz Blue curacao - .75oz Mint syrup - Juice of half a lemon - Club soda to top Shake and strain, serve over crushed ice. Top with club soda, and more crushed ice. Garnish with a lemon twist. I used the Wray and Nephew and the mint, because Romulan Ale is supposed to smell extremely strongly, and those ingredients definitely do. It's kind of like a funky Mojito. I like it a lot
Seems like posting might be possible now, so here's my drink from last night! I wanted something refreshing, but still complex. - 1oz Aged rum - Plantation 5 Year - .5oz Jamaican rum - Wray and Nephew - .5oz Dark rum - Plantation OFTD - .5oz Lime juice - .3oz Rich simple syrup - .5 barspoons Falernum - .5 barspoons Grenadine - 2 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters Blend with ice, serve in a Collins glass, and top with more ice. Garnish with two maraschino cherries, and a mint sprig (which I ran out of)
