![](https://lemmy.zip/pictrs/image/205c5b81-b2ad-4f9b-801b-edb8a93fa9e3.webp) Text: >Please do not add genAI images to punch up your writing. You might think that it adds a nice little bit of visual pizazz to your content-marketing piece, but what you're actually doing is \*making it look like content marketing\* rather than a useful resource. To the extent that content marketing is an effective tactic, it is because you build trust with the customer by providing them valuable information. A genAI turd plopped on top of your writing is a signal that it will be worthless slop.

![](https://feddit.org/pictrs/image/e970d6b4-3700-4ae5-9f02-1f652cb90eb9.jpeg) ::: spoiler post text Picture this: 1. You type on Google "laptop won't turn on" 2. Google now knows you have a broken laptop and can estimate how desperate you are to fix it. 3. Because it knows how desperate you are, it can increase shop prices proportionally. You are going to pay the maximum they get you to pay. That's algorithmic pricing. The more companies know about you, the more they can predict and sell how desperate you are to other stores out there. An internet-connected car knows much more about you than you realize. A smart TV also knows what you like. Your Alexa knows if there is a problem in the home. Privacy is much more than just sensitive data. It's about not giving leverage away. Because algorithms will use it against you. Be safe out there. ::: [Nostr.](https://primal.net/e/note13uawrwatj0p3syr9twrnz3dnw8pnap7mnm3kgcv7pperfqqkfc5qk4aq90)

Not really a meme, I know, but I thought this was amazing and worth sharing and I didn't know where else to share it on Lemmy. Ursula LeGuin was an incredible person and, although she did live a long life, her death was still a huge loss.
