Compare the civil rights movement vs BLM movement. That was not sustained protesting, it was not constant and real pressure. It was a flash in the pan, and worse, it showed that the citizens of the US dont have the stomach to do it for real again.

Until we are willing to disrupt the whole economy, and shut down suburban white America, approximately jack all will be done.

I think if anything BLM proves my point because the fascists actually had to show up and use violence and false flags to try to subvert the success that was happening. If BLM had gone on longer and wider I really think congress would have shit a collective brick because o shit were they terrified.

Or take their help on things not directly related to housing? A decent social worker can do so much for you that could be genuinely helpful.

I wish we treated unhoused with the same basic structure as hospice. Having a team with a social worker, Dr, nurse, and counseling for each person would go a long way to long term well-being even for people who choose to be unhoused.

Most are terrified of their constituents. If there are mass protests and people pressuring constantly they will listen even if this vote was unconditional.

But this is why they work so hard to keep us just poor enough we can't afford to revolt but not so poor that we have nothing left to lose.

Like I said ineffective but not impossible.

But if I'm gaming and there's no X3D part why would I get anything else other than a 7800 X3D. AMD really shot themselves in the foot and what's worse is we warned them it was coming yet they chose not to listen.

Once they are outside of my tribe I can remove their humanity and then their death has no moral or emotional cost to me.

I will second Mellow, the Ender 3 series is a great entry level printer for tinkerers and hobbits but it requires lots of upgrades and maintenance to turn into a quality fast printer if your goal is to work with the printed items and not the printer.

I like to tinker so that was fine with me, and when I got around to buying a big boy printer I got a Voron 350mm v2.4r2 because its a printer you build yourself. Going from an entry level printer to a $1200 printer is night and day. The features, functionality, quality, and for me most importantly the speed have been game changers.

Since you want to print Cosplay im going to assume you dont want to tinker constantly with the printer, and you dont want to be dealing with failed prints all the time.

If that is the case I would say spend what your time is really worth to you and for your hobby and get a higher end high quality printer. Enjoy the parts you print, not fighting with the printer.

Despite the massive breach where we found out that notes (where lots of people stored previous passwords) were not stored encrypted by Lastpass, I have stuck with them for years because its hard to switch services. Recently I realized that both my wife and I were paying for 2 separate password manager services and we need to consolidate down to one. Staying with LastPass and moving to a family account would only cost $4/m which is still 1/2 what we were paying combined. Is there another manager that offers Apple, Android, and Browser based applications/plugins? Ideally also with an authentication app, though I can swap to any authentication if I need to so its just a nice to have.

Dear Brother Printers: Eat a [Sponsor friendly words here] www.therecycler.com

For a while now I have been a Brother evangelist because they just worked, they did not lock you into first party only printing supplies, and they were overall a good value. THEN: my printer firmware auto updated and suddenly my toner cartridges were no longer recognized. Its not that they ran out and I put in new ones, simply the ones that had previously worked (3rd party already) just stopped and it reported an error. I managed to find a guide on downgrading the firmware, and now I am back up and running and auto update is turned off. I am also saving all the little chips from the Brother branded cartridges. So Dear Brother Printers, Please choke on a bag of dicks. I spent $500ish on a laser color printer so I would not have to deal with the shitification that has happened to inkjet. Seeing hostile and profiteering consumer behavior from other printer companies you decided to copy them for short term gains. Well I will no longer recommend your products, and I will go out of my way to fix and downgrade your older printers with the sole purposes of putting them back into use and costing you new sales. 1 down, 1 in the cue, feel free to stop being anti consumer and breaking hardware we already paid for. URL referencing the last time I know they got caught messing with Firmwares: https://www.therecycler.com/posts/new-firmware-updates-affect-aftermarket-cartridges/

    Made a custom Aluminum base

The only real complaint I have had for my Keychron K4 has been the plastic case, so yesterday I decided NO MORE! I took some aluminim stock plate I had left over from another unrelated project and trimmed it down, tapped and countersunk mounting holes, and give it a hand brushed look with some 80 grit sand paper. So far it feels solid, and I love the diffuse reflections from the key illumination. Combining the open sandwich plate with low profile caps gives it a really cool "exploded" or raw look. I also added some silicone rubber to some of the larger keys to tone the "ping" down and give them a heftier feel and sound. I dont love the stock stabilizers that come with this board so they may be the next update. Switches and Firmware are already all custom. ![](https://discuss.online/pictrs/image/072f0a77-d314-4743-ad64-55a470c74f73.jpeg) ![](https://discuss.online/pictrs/image/1f3915f7-2a41-4e87-b2cc-a709ebd89ee9.jpeg) ![](https://discuss.online/pictrs/image/df2f84eb-e255-4a81-910a-34dcf08462b4.jpeg)

    The Daily - Keychron K4v2 w/ SonixQMK + Frankenswitches

![](https://discuss.online/pictrs/image/c6951c5d-ee99-4b14-bb7b-df0557fd30f0.jpeg) This is my daily, I have tried others yet I keep coming back to this one. Fact is I like having a num pad, and F-Keys as i use them frequently with work. My K4v2 runs custom SonixQMK which is Via compatible, I primarily do it my self because I have some particular custom keycodes that cant just be macro's as they need to pass through the HID port on my KVM. Switches are a blend of Kailh Royal Box and Kailh Silent Browns. ![](https://discuss.online/pictrs/image/809f78ef-41fd-4e07-b36e-23661e6ee7ea.jpeg) The switches are the Royal Box base, Royal Box Spring combined with the Silent Brown hammer (green bit), Silent brown Stem, and Silent Brown top housing. The result is a quiet heavy switch with a robust tactile bump. ![](https://discuss.online/pictrs/image/fe85e21b-77d4-494f-80b9-64f6dd0e2dd9.jpeg) ![](https://discuss.online/pictrs/image/0b7fb6b3-7254-4df8-a282-1b60e4cf8a1f.jpeg) When I built the switches I tested with both the Silent Brown Hammer (green) and the Royal Box hammer (brown) and was shocked to find that they felt very different. The Royal box hammer ended up being about 0.12mm longer and it overwhelmed the contact on the Silent browns. In the end I decided to use the Contact from the Royal Box with the slightly shorter Silent Brown hammer and found it the best combination of strong tactile bump. I also found that with the longer hammer the noise was far more noticeable. ![](https://discuss.online/pictrs/image/a30a0553-d720-46a4-b2f5-8cc793d4aad0.jpeg) ![](https://discuss.online/pictrs/image/f776e65d-c615-4c38-a355-fa1acf5c8643.jpeg)

    Fediverse Award Token/Crypto

So, never thought i would suggest a form of crypto or token, but it struck me that one of the best ways to help people pay for hosting services would be to create a de-centralized crypto token that when awarded to a user it is send on the back end to their instance. If we put this token on some of the exchanges then people could pay with either real money by buying tokens and gifting/awarding them, or converting other crypto into Fediverse tokens. We could even use the same blockchain to allow minting of one off or limited run tokens where users can create their own. Would also be cool if awards attach to the profile and are federated, but with the ability to make tokens private by the user. Just a thought, because someone wanted to give me gold for a post, and I linked to our donation page, but man it would be easy if they could have just purchased a token and sent it right then and there without having to go through all the different instance donation methods. Sadly, I am not a programmer so hopefully this idea is worth a shit and one of you smart people takes it and runs.

What kind of hardware are yall running?

I really want to setup an instance at home I know the MI25 can be hacked into doing this well but I would love to know what other people are running and see if I can find a good starter kit. THX ~inf
