Can I charge a 19V laptop from multiple USB ports? My laptop's charger is rated at 19V 2.1A. I was wondering if it would be possible to build an adapter which would allow me to charge it from a power bank, even if just slowly or via multiple USB ports. I know you can buy adapters which utilise USB power delivery, but most outlets and powerbanks don't have PD yet. @ijeff I'm never going to use passkeys because they require to have a lockscreen on the device, and I don't have one.
You might think "Isn't that kinda dangerous?"
And I say: My devices are never left unattended, so a lockscreen is just an obstacle to get back where I was. Honestly, try disabling your lockscreen. The fact that you can press one button and be right where you left off is priceless.
So, screw passkeys and their stupid rules.

@MonkderZweite Well, a window manager is for managing windows, right? So, having it also provide a list of windows to click on is resonable, in my opinion.
I should've added that I'm planning to run it on a Nokia N900 with 600 MHz and 256 MB RAM, both #XFCE and #LXDE are way too heavy for it. Also, most of their menus don't fit on the 800×480 pixel screen.

I haven't looked too deep into what's possible with the config files of i3 or awesome. Maybe I should do that first. I just assumed they would be too keyboard focused. I want everything to be visible on screen, so you don't have to remember hotkeys.
I am once again considering to write my own window manager ...unless the setup I am thinking of is already possible, let me construct this in your head: On the top of the screen, there is narrow status bar, which is split into two parts. On the right side of the bar, you have your clock, your battery, your signal strength and so on. On the left side, there is a clickable tab for every window you have opened. It's like browser tabs: Every window always uses the entire space below the status bar. On the far left, there could be an icon which opens a searchable list of applications, kind of like [#dmenu](https://ma.fellr.net/tags/dmenu) but vertical. Everything supports mouse input as you would expect. Does that exist? Should I make it? It would be awesome for smaller screens, like phones. Edit: I should add that I'm planning to run it on a Nokia N900 with a single 600 MHz CPU core, 256 MB RAM and a resolution of 800×480 pixels. Existing full desktop environments like Xfce4, LXDE, and so on are way to heavy to run. @Lojcs You think so? It must do something on the hardware level. If you install something like @postmarketos and let the deivce just sit doing nothing with its screen off, the battery doesn't last nearly as long as with Android. There must be some trickery going on...
How does sleep really work in the Android kernel? I've been wondering about this for a while, but couldn't find anything about it. What exactly happens after the screen turns off? Does the kernel actually suspend and halt the CPU? If so, how are notifications received while sleeping? Is there a coprocessor involved? I'm curious. Update: Most issues were fixed through updates, I guess we just wanted to play in a really unfortunate time.
The locking up problem is related to a DLL mismatch when attempting #Windows / #Linux crossplay. In short: Copy your Windows friends' ucrtbase.dll from both the System32 and the SysWOW64 folders to your Windows folder in #Steam's compatdata folder and you're good to go!
We had a great time playing last night.

Shouldn't elements from the master slide in LibreOffice Impress be locked from editing? "Elements on a master page can only be changed from the master page view and are protected in the regular slide editing view." (OpenOffice) ...that's is the behavior I'm used to. But in Impress, all elements from the master slide are still editable in all individual slides. I keep accidentally moving them. Is this a setting? So, based on what I said previously we're missing out anywhere between 0% and 25% of revenue. Since the truth often lies somewhere in the middle, I argue that we lose some money. But we will never know how much it actually is, or how much impact piracy actually has.
One thing is for sure: If absolutely everyone would pirate the game, I would loose my job and couldn't pay rent anymore.

@stappern @Talignoram6571 It's a difficult question. I'm a game developer. We estimate that about 25% of all active copies are pirated.
If all pirated copies would just disappear, would those people go buy the game? I don't think so. They would just stop playing. They don't care about the game enough to spend money, or they really just cannot afford it.
But you could argue that more people are playing the game, and they might buy a sequel in the future.
So, do we loose money? Yes, a little.
Why exactly is deferred rendering faster? The GPU is still doing the same work per pixel, isn't it? Is it because there is less dependency chains as the buffers (albedo, normal, light, emission, ...) are independent? Halo: Master Chief Collection is an absolute broken mess Last weekend, I picked up the [#Halo](https://ma.fellr.net/tags/Halo) Master Chief Collection from the Steam sale with a friend. We wanted to play through Halo 1 again, but it was completely unplayable. You can't always join another player's session. Occasionally, nothing happens when starting a mission. On certain missions the game just completely freezes. At certain points the game locks up leaving you unable to move. It's just awful.
