(bart simpson voice) The exports of Libya Iraq are numerous in amount. One thing they export is corn, or as the Indians called it, "maize". Another famous Indian was Crazy Horse. In conclusion, Libya Iraq is a land of contrasts. Thank you.
joking aside, sorry about America.

Falling asleep while driving to work in the morning, after 'sleeping' for 8-10 hours. (reasonably new properly working car, no reason to suspect CO poisoning)

I just did some drumsticks last night.
before you start, make sure you have a tin can or glass jar for oil disposal.
soak your meat in buttermilk for several hours. shake with heavily seasoned flour. <- this is where your "recipe" will come in. Salt, pepper, whatever kind of herb mix you like. allow to rest for a while so the flour sticks. preheat oven to 350°F in a large frypan put in enough oil for about an inch of depth. don't use olive oil. vegetable oil is fine, others will give a different taste. other common ones are peanut oil and crisco shortening. heat the oil over medium-high until it is around 375°F fry chicken in batches until brown. turning pieces after 3 or 4 minutes when the pieces are brown all over, put each on a rack over a sheet pan (or just a sheet pan with foil or parchment paper) bake chicken until done to 165°F, maybe 20 minutes
you can also do "oven-fried" which isn't quite the same, but gives good results without the mess of the oil.

Yeah I had my yard full of destroying angels last summer, when they first showed up I was all "sweet! Mushrooms!" Because they look real similar to agaricus. But then I saw the white gills, and was all :(.
And I made sure to tell my kids not to mess with them and why.

Fuckin' Nukes.
(Context: The Navy nuclear power training center is in Goose Creek, just north of Charleston, and the people in nuclear power are all weirdos)
Although in a link in the linked article, he's described as a Marine veteran?

I did do some during downtime on the deskop at work. so it wasn't quite as extreme as it sounds. the worst part was the limited width of the screen. A bluetooth keyboard would have helped a lot, that's for sure.

1000% yes.
had one go through my town about 2 blocks from work.
They thought it was over and gave the "all clear" so I was going between buildings starting equipment back up and I looked at the sky and the clouds were going 2 different directions at about 100 mph. went inside and saw the debris cloud out the window and thought: "yeah it's time to get in the shelter now"
the track was also about 1 1/2 blocks from my house. I lost about 10 shingles off my roof. down the street, the neighbor had the whole roof peeled off his house like the lid of a tin can.
they really do sound like a freight train rumbling down the track.
also it sucked a bunch of air out of the building so that all the closed doors made a howling noise.

Just this one segment is like this. The whole rest of the plant, including segments further down the branch are normal.

My house is pretty new, 5 years old. It has interconnected smoke alarms in every room (11), as required. I believe they are all First Alert brand. We have been getting false alarms from them about every 3 months. Most of them are in the middle of the night which isn't fun for me, and really terrifies my kids (6 & 8). There is no apparent cause, no cooking is going on, no dust. They go off for a while and stop on their own. Some of these are CO detectors, but we had the Fire Department come out when it happened one time and they tested and everything was fine. When they are going off, I can't find the one that is causing it because they are all going off. However, on these the "ready" light blinks red if it has been triggered in the past, and every one of the units has triggered based on that. I actually permanently removed one because it triggered 3 times in one night. I thought it was a bad unit, but it just happened again at 5 this morning with a different one. Nobody has died in this house, so I'm pretty confident it's not ghosts (/s) Anyone have suggestions?

Went to Worlds of Fun on Thursday. There weren't any lines, so the 8yo didn't have time to worry about what it was going to be like. He said he was done with roller coasters the rest of the day, but he'd go on one again sometime.
My lawn needed this so bad, it was getting kinda crunchy.
Large camper in a parking lot, with a ServiceMaster van pulled up to it.
There was supposed to be an image with this but I'm getting a timeout error :(
Someone dumped their extras on us and I don't have a plot dug, so in some buckets they go. I have grown Romas and Habaneros in double-bucket self-watering planters before, but I didn't have enough buckets this year. This is only half of the plants we got, I passed the rest on to my parents. They are: 2x Serranos, a Jalapeno, a Sweet Black Hungarian, and a Bell pepper. Also 2x "heirloom mix" tomatoes, 1 Roma, 2x Abe Lincoln and a mystery tomato .
