The thumbnail image is a screenshot from a Youtube video, for a song. the lyrics in gold color are Youtube closed captions, they look cool and stylish right? This is common in videos of 4K scaled anime openings. Can I get these offline? I know I can download videos using yt-dlp, and include subtitles in the container using the `--embed-subs` flag, I think you can also download subtitle files in vtt extension, but VLC can't read them I think. I heard that it is possible to inject video containers with malware. I also heard malware is rampant on 1337x. And I don't have an antivirus to scan files for the moment cuz I'm on Linux, also it would be too much for me to upload the movie to virustotal. I found a release that suits my need for the movie I'm looking for, but I don't know if I can trust this uploader (TGxGoodies). the number of seeders is over 120 for the movie. the reason I'm reluctant is that a very active uploader on 1337x: IGGGAMESCOM is labeled "Vip Uploader" despite a simple search on reddit shows that there are victims for their malware-injected uploads.

Yesterday I was looking for a niche game and I almost downloaded it from IGGGAMESCOM (which r/piracy claim is not safe). Anyway while searching I stumbled upon a cwhub link for the game that shows the date when the game was cracked and the name of the group (in this case it was DARKZER0). So is cwhub the database that everyone is using ? I recently got into fighting games (like: kof - street fighters - Mortal Kombat - Guilty Gear...etc). Now you can pirate the game, and you can play it online with someone if the two of you agree on using same pirated copy and Hamachi for example, but where do you meet these people to play with? are there dedicated forums for online games lobbies? I don't even know how people with steam copies find opponents online, I just see them mention "the steam lobbies". But from observing people's reviews on their online experience with kof XIII, I understood that it overwhelmingly sucks. disclaimer: I'm just asking to get understanding of the theory behind network traffic encryption, I know this doesn't happen irl most likely. Let's take https connection for example. I like watching revolutionary things on youtube and do not wish for authorities to know what I am watching, we accept here for the sake of showcase that google won't sell my watch history if asked (LMAO what am I even saying?). So if I'm not mistaken since youtube has https implemented, our communication is encrypted, the keys are shared only between me and youtube. But when Youtube shares the key with me/my client the first time, is that also encrypted? Wouldn't the same question keep getting answered until there is something unencrypted? I know this is a bit too much unlikely, but if ISP automated the process of gathering keys and decrypting web traffic for a certain site with them for all users, would that work for them? I'm on Ubuntu using Firefox browser. I get the notifications from reddit on my desktop. On the top toolbar, there is a bell icon where I can find unread notifications from telegram, firefox (from the sites allowed to send notifications), the package manager (about software updates) ...ect. Whenever someone replies to my post or comment on reddit [a notification with sound appears on my desktop](https://imgur.com/a/UZJ2bPo), and even if I miss it, [I can see it if I click the bell icon](https://imgur.com/a/0H6HGhz) on the top toolbar, which has a sign to indicate there is a notification I didn't click. I'm setting permission for lemmy.dbzer0 to send notifications to "allowed" on Firefox, but I receive nothing. For instance I would forget to check replies to my posts and comments here. And it becomes even worst since I have an account in more than one lemmy instance, so I have to check every one of them for updates on discussions I missed!

I downloaded the game from soft32 (this file used to work on the old days). I installed both WINE and Lutris, but the game runs like sh**t. I get .NET and Vulkan errors from Lutris&WINE. Can you give me a newbie friendly guide for the right way? I'm tired of scrapping the web and it doesn't help that I have limited data. This post started out as a question, but throughout two days of googling it became this compilation of links. I will tell you everything worth mention that I found, share my plan with you, and expect some critics (for the infos of course, please not for the silly hyperactivity of my ADHD brain over such a trivial matter 🥲). Tell me what do you think, is windows 10 enterprise LTSC IoT actually the best OS for piracy? Is it Windows 7 for best fps with games despite DirectX11 being outdated? Or maybe everything could be done through Linux + Lutris&WINE for example? I'm moving out from ubuntu mainly cuz I still don't know where to get Nvidia&Intel Drivers from 😂 So the windows community would infinitely shame you for using Windows 7 because it has no more security updates. Also I heard you neither have support for DirectX12 nor optimization for SSD, So windows 7 isn't optimized for ex: gaming even though most repacks were released for it. I don't know anything about Win8.1 and my experience with Win8 isn't good, so I disregard them here. So it is Windows 10 or Windows 11, but both are bloated with ads, telemetry, useless apps, processes and services (why do I have Cortana!?) and forces you to update. Win10&11 presented what is called "windows as a service" instead of "as a product", a policy which sucks for us users. But I heard about Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC, which has minimized telemetry and non of the annoying apps, I don't know about auto-updates though, but I heard it doesn't receive them often. I also learned that I better choose IoT version of the later for longer support (2032 vs 2027 for non-IoT LTSC). So it is convenient and all to use chatGPT from open AI site and to use other AI models on their official sites, but doesn't feel like a pirate when doing this am I wrong? like OpenAI staff spying on my discussion with my waifu persona I given to ChatGPT, or Midjourney creators knowing about every picture of John Oliver I created with their discord bot, Also you are only allowed to use chatGPT 3.5 and need to pay for GPT 4 (20$ a month for a limited use wtf) so are there any islands where the pirate can do what he does comfortably? there are Telegram bots. You know, a reason why we liked reddit and stackexchange is the upvotes/awards and that the site tells you what the post owner liked (which is supposed to be the answer you're looking for). what is the alternative here ? or does the admin add a bot to do this stuff on the instance ? also the search ! we used to use google search and write reddit or stackexchange after what you searched, or like site:mathstackexchange.com at the end of the search query, how do I search for content that I want on this "fediverse" ? or at least in an instance ? if the question should have been asked elsewhere please tell me, I still struggle with the fediverse
