Some people have experiences which have left them embittered towards a younger, more hopeful generation. Despite 100's of years of exploitation, absolute failure, and hundreds of millions of people starving to death, getting killed for things such as not wanting to work weekends, and sent to work to death for having the absolute cajones to do what they need to do to provide for their loved ones, they STILL insist that capitalism is the only way forward because it's the only thing they've ever known.
The average human may not stand out amid 8 billion other people, but each and every person is unique and therefore special in their own way.
Everyone wants to work, to do something, but no one wants to have a job because your worth as a human shouldn't be tied to how much money you can earn for someone else. (And, inb4 "art is not a job", that is so fucking disingenuous; if you think that art isn't essential, then STOP listening to music, STOP watching television and movies, STOP reading books and newspapers, and then get back to me.) People naturally provide for those they care for and, news flash, people care about other people and their identities.
I know you're probably just trolling because you hate your life under capitalism and need to feel like you're a part of something, but like join the club bro.

Speaking as a smoker: it's a great idea until someone manages to start a fire (or deliberately sets one.) Also smoky interiors get uncleanably grimy FAST.

Hi Cev! Nice to meet you, I’m Cal :) I’m 27 and from the US. I feel you about being less certain of my gender every day lol! As long as I don’t think too much about it I’m not too concerned 😵💫 anyway I use he/they pronouns mostly.
I also enjoy gaming and hanging out! I also like to cook and bake (and get baked), read, draw, garden, go hiking/camping…

I’m in the process of abandoning my Reddit account. I abandoned my Twitter a little while before the Muskening and once it became finalized I really didn’t want to go back, but I kind of regret not saving more memes/screenshots so I’m making sure to actually archive things this time.
I don’t want to go back. The fediverse has everything and more; I would like to think that we can keep up this wonderful sense of community here. Meanwhile the toxicity on Reddit has gotten even worse.
It’s like having the opportunity to have an amicable separation from a toxic ex.

I don’t think 6-cost is dead. Hulk, Heimdall, Orka, Agatha, Destroyer, Giganto, and Infinaut are all arguably benefitted from pigging out. Death seems like a good absorber option but a liability if you intend to actually play her. Also maybe Wave could be a side counter but ???

I have read various interviews and such where they both have said things to the effect of, they each remember having written certain parts, and that there are parts which neither remember writing.

that’s amazing!!
also sorry, should have been more clear- 3BP (“Three Body Problem”) is a sci-fi series getting a Netflix adaptation soon, and there is a type of space probe called a Droplet that is tear-shaped and perfectly reflective

The difference isn’t just that one is Some Guy and one is Some Guy Who Went To Seminary, the difference is that confessions are supposed to be kept confidential (between the person, their priest, and arguably God), not “confidential” (between the person and the priest, who then rats them out to the boss.)

Marvel Snap, though while the gameplay is fun the monetization is getting a bit out of hand. I think it can still turn around, though. I’m more of a DC guy myself too!
I also do a lot of crosswords haha. I have Magic Arena downloaded but I don’t really enjoy playing standard.
Finally I have been getting back into Pokémon go a little bit. My partner recently picked it back up too!

Princess Mononoke is my favorite for sure. I love the character design, the setting, the environmental storytelling. And wulfy
Besides that though…I really really liked Spirited Away. So rich and nuanced. I liked the twists and turns the film took

I mean, there hasn’t really been a sense of privacy since the Patriot Act, and Snowden et al confirmed it. And the attempts at data gathering have gotten both more overt and more insidious. (Like, selfie memes, or “get to know me” prompts, or whatever- and I’m not saying these are inherently bad or always data grabs, either.)
Honestly even if you leave your phone at home someone has a phone nearby. Whether you drive to work or take an Uber or public transit or walk, you’re on security cameras and can be traced through other means.
It’s gotten bad enough that I- and I’m sure a lot of other people as well- have problems even intimating with other people, because i feel like I’m over sharing AND selling my personal information. But it’s just a regular conversation. And that’s not okay!
I’m not saying public fora can’t (or shouldn’t) be monitored, but the panopticon has got to fucking go!

That’s absolutely amazing, but looking at a pic online it looks exactly like the Droplet from 3BP lmao.

I’ve been playing a lot of Marvel Snap lately, they just added a Conquest Mode which effectively lets you test new decks (plus earning other prizes but waves hand) I’ve been having a lot of fun with my High Evo Toxic deck and also just made a High Evo Hulk deck.
I’m finishing up Shining Pearl, I basically put my game on hold right before the E4 so I could run around in the Underground for the blasted Spiritomb quest. I ended up getting burnt out and taking a hiatus so I think I’m just going to do the E4 and get Spiritomb later.
I also think I’m gonna pick up TOTK, I watched my partner play through it and I have a mighty need to make monster-killing Rube Goldberg contraptions.

omg I loved 3BP, Death’s End left me in a trance for days afterward.
snailwizard 1 year ago • 100%
I was thinking about that too, but I’m sure there are plenty of cases where it would be a good play- early, then late-game disrupt; could have synergy with Doc Ock; screwing over Apocalypse; would be a terror for bounce, Cerebro, and any other deck with a lot of similarly-costing cards.
Honestly I don’t really play move either but if Ham isn’t quite worth it I might start haha.

I’ve read Left Hand and loved it!! My partner asked about it a while back and said he’d love to read it after Earthsea. Do you have any other recs of hers?

I always want to say like, Dark Souls in general but then I remember. I remember
Honestly tho I’m still trying to chase the high of my first playthrough of Undertale (yeah yeah.) I played it right after it came out and happened to be going through a lot. I definitely played it a few times after that and it’s always great but I feel like the first was just magical.
Hello, everyone! Let’s discuss this week’s new card release: **Spider-Ham**! *Spider-Ham* 1/1 On Reveal: Transform the highest-cost card in your opponent’s hand into a Pig, keeping its Power and Cost. What do you think of this card? Do you think it will see widespread use? Will we start seeing more and more Agatha decks? Let the discourse begin! **Side note:** this has also been posted on the Marvel Snap magazine, [@MarvelSnap](https://kbin.social/m/MarvelSnap) ! Come check us out:)

Personally, I think this card could be a really effective disruptive tool. A good upgrade (or sidegrade) to Iceman, obvious synergy with Moon Girl, would likely be a terror in a Bounce deck. Infinaut could see a resurgence since it would remove his T5 restriction. I just don’t know if I should buy this one or wait for Spidey 2099 next week tho…

My partner and I finished the audiobook of Le Guin’s Tombs of Atuan over the weekend and started The Farthest Shore, both really enjoyable reads.
I personally am reading through Jane McAlevey’s A Collective Bargain, a nonfiction about the importance of unionization and collectivism as it pertains to both work and democracy. She tells the stories of four folks who managed to fight for and win the right to a union in their workplace. It’s accessible and a fairly short read (just a couple hundred pages), so I’m going to go ahead and recommend that one here too :)

I’m nervous about these yahoos writing and producing but I like 3BP so I’m gonna at least watch a couple of episodes. That having been said: Tencent has a really great, faithful adaptation that you can watch on Prime or YT (YT also has all 30 eps for free)

Great movie! The soundtrack was pretty killer and the character and world designs were all pretty fantastic. I still somehow haven’t seen the first but it even provides enough context for people like me.
Go see it, highly recommended!

My week was actually not bad! I adopted a couple of snails from my garden and started a new sourdough starter. I was a bit stressed about those things going well but the snail terrarium turned out great and my starter is bubbling along happily. Work was a bit tiring but at least not awful. Hope y’all are doing well!

Great episode, amazing animation. I knew in my heart of hearts that nothing would happen to Nezuko (though I work in a bookstore that sells a lot of manga, so there's also that.) I'm a sucker for the happy ending and I was surprised at how freaked out I was by the Muzan scene

Okay, so, I am not thrilled about D&D writing/producing but Rian Johnson is somewhat exciting. Also I really really enjoyed the books. Especially during the last one, I would be a million light-years away daydreaming about them.
Side note: if anyone is interested in this show but is hesitant about the Netflix adaptation, Tencent has a really faithful, really engaging adaptation. It’s available on their streaming app, as well as Amazon Prime and on YouTube (where you can watch all 30 episodes for free.)

I like Dr Stone’s premise a lot. I am hoping the second half of the season continues the energy of the first! It takes some artistic liberties but that’s fine by me. The manga was really enjoyable, if you don’t want to wait until October I highly recommend it!
Steins;Gate was great too. I liked their use of chaos theory. Also at least 2 of the top 10 saddest anime deaths.
I haven’t seen Cells at Work but I’ve heard it’s good.
