The Last Kingdom.
I can't quite put my finger on it but the series really keeps me watching.
After multiple EU-based users complained about not being able to access Threads app through VPN, Meta confirmed it is blocking such efforts.

Flashback to when my sister in law had an electric car and felt compelled to plug it in at my place everytime she visited.
Larian Studios showed the option during its last Panel From Hell presentation
I'm old now. I've finally realised I get more enjoyment from watching someone play than to actually play the game. Why is that? Do you experience that as well?

As Moderator to !BestOf, this is my biggest fear. I've been working pretty extensively on this community in my spare time and I'm afraid that if the Moderators of r/BestOf decide to federate, we will lose. I'm not entirely nervous about fragmenting the community so much as just being r/LesserBestOf. By design, this community shouldn't really be fragmentated unless we decide to become BestOf something specific.

I've been on Reddit for like 12 years and I was never banned by an admin. The fact that you got banned twice is sus.
I did get banned from blackpeopletwitter for being white.

I disagree. A rubber band and a donut do not have an 'in' and 'out'.

Honestly, I think it's important that people sub to all the same-subject communities across the Fediverse. However.. the only time it's really important to make the distinction is while creating a post. I hope we get the equivalent of 'multireddits' for all spaces with the same subject.

Please come with me at !BestOf@kbin.social too. I want all of you there! We need some wholesome contributors, even if it's just a downvote.

I think the problem with your opinion is that it conveys that you believe children are being throw into surgery rooms and given sex transitions loosely and without thought to the consequences.
I think your real opinion is that you believe children shouldn't be given unnecessary surgeries. If that is true, the large majority of the population would agree with you.
In addition, have you explored what Doctors believe is a necessary sex transition for a child? What are those parameters? If you don't know, then I would consider your original stance to be of ignorance. Since you really never dive into the subject, most people will assume that you haven't explored those parameters and don't understand the reasoning behind them. That is why you're facing aggression with your opinion.

I've had some time to think about it and I think I actually like the current setup. "Boost" provides more visibility to a post, while "upvote" and "downvote" is synonymous with agree/disagree.
In a way, I can disagree with someone AND boost it. Disagreeing with someone doesn't have to be hostile. I think it would be healthy if a community could disagree with each other in a civil manner.
I also like that if someone disagrees, that person cannot influence if the post gets less visibility.

Are websites like kbin and lemmy a solution that returns power to the people or are we simply empowering different people?
I'm the creator of [@Bestof](https://kbin.social/m/Bestof) or !BestOf and I've been trying to grow the community for the last couple of weeks. It was an uphill battle as I could only get 5-10 members every day, sometimes even much less. After finally hitting 100 subscribers yesterday, 200 subscribers this morning, and nearly at 300 subscribers this afternoon, I believe my community is really fruiting! Thank you so much for your interest. I will do my best to manage this community and have it flourish. I can envision how fantastic it will be, and I hope it contributes to your enjoyment of the Fediverse!

@argentcorvid MVP!
As moderator, we will let the community manage the content and decide what is worthy of the frontpage. I understand the community looks empty on Lemmy, but I can assure you it's not. There must be an issue with the integration between kbin and lemmy, it should be fixed and the real numbers should come up eventually. @Melpomene The fediverse will become quite vast. I find it's already difficult to see portions from every community. I'd like for it to be a central location where people can share the most insightful posts/comments.

@tallwookie Fascinating.
I'm the creator of kbin.social/m/bestof. I have been 'advertising' the subreddit of it to start getting traction. Despite all my efforts, I'm still the only contributor to my community. How do communities entice their subscribers to post content?
