I talk out of my ass at times, and the bit level statement could be one of them. Nevertheless Spinrite is a little known but amazing tool for HDD and SDD maintenance and recovery. Just go hop over to the forums. I used to be a member in them back in the late 2000s. You'll see. There are deep drive nerds and they know their stuff.

This is the best I can find in a pinch. It's possible it reads at the sector level and repairs at the bit level. It's been awhile since I've been knee deep in Steve's ass and testimonials. Old Security Now episodes have a lot of info on how it works.
https://www.grc.com/sr/faq.htm
Data recovery companies work the hardware which can be a point of failure. Spinrite tries to recover the data before the hardware fails. The greater density a disk has, the more failures are expected and error correction just assigns bad sectors as they fail. Between that and the OS, my understanding is that the slow degradation of a drive is managed until it can't be. Even running Spinrite on a new drive is beneficial because new drives come with bad sectors. By assigning them as bad up front you get ahead of bad sectors and even can catch a lemon before it crashes. I've recovered unreadable drives with Spinrite. It's impressive. It doesn't solve all issues, but it's really good.

I think you are mistaken and don't understand how Spinrite works. It reads at the bit level and only reads once at level 1. If the data is going to be lost at the first read then it'll crash when read by a professional company.

Buy Spinrite. It's not perfect but it's the best thing available for drive maintenance and recovery. I have used it for over 10 years. If the drive is dying it'll take forever, but I've recovered data that was nearly gone due to sector loss. It goes down to the bit level BTW. Someday Steve will release v7 .. someday.

True.... It's very passive. No one ever pressed me to think this way but I just did... And still sorta do. Maybe movies? And I was susceptible to applying that concept to myself? I dunno.

Have some ideas on other DnB that's not too pop? I'm old and struggling to find new stuff. When I dig around the new stuff it's just to clubby...like more picking up chicks and less like dancing till you sweat through your shirt.
I still wallow in stuff like Massive Attack, Orbital, the Orb, Roni Size, Photek, the Prodigy, Deadmaus, Chase and Status, RJD2, etc just to give some examples.

I regret this screen protector drives me crazy. It works for my thumb print only some of the time. It could be user error but I think I'm giving up on it. I hope I didn't lead you down a failed path.

My company filed for two PPP loans to keep afloat. Any company could have just kept making money and the owners could have pocketed the cash. There were expectations that employees were not fired and other questions in the application that I can't recall. When we applied for forgiveness on the loans we provided tax receipts and staff numbers over time. I'm sure it would have been pretty straightforward to lie or find someone to lie for you (accountant with less than stellar ethics).

Cnarery 2+2 Pack Privacy Screen Protector for Google Pixel 8, Privacy Tempered Glass Screen Protector and Camera Lens Protector [Easy Installation]
It struggled a little but I did add new fingerprints which helped.
I installed a screen protector for the first time on Monday. I've been having issues getting my fingerprint to work and just would use my pin to unlock. This morning Android popped up a notification saying "Using a screen protector? Click here to increase touch sensitivity!" Pretty awesome. Now stop asking me to use Gemini.

I feel horrible. I think it didn't help having my daughter inside the car and the dog with me. I agree talking to the lady across the street and stopping back by to check in may be best.
I was going to drop my kid off at school when a dog ran between two cars and my back tire ran over a portion of the dog. I slowed down and stopped not knowing what to do and watched the dog hop up and hobble away into an adjoining back yard. What seemed to be the owner followed the dog into the back yard. I immediately pulled over but had to roll up my windows as my dog was riding along. I waited a few houses away not really knowing how to react and asking my kid what she thought I should do. When the dog quickly wandered off she wasn't sure how I should act either. What do I do? My initial hesitancy is tied to the dog quickly walking away into what looked like it's home and the owner slowly following it away. I'm concerned of getting into the middle of a highly emotional situation if the dog needs to go to the vet. If the dog lay lifeless I would have had no issue with getting out and consoling as needed. Is there a difference? I think also am concerned I'll get told I'm responsible and need to help cover any vet costs.

It seems like you are getting more knee jerk than actual answers here. There is no evidence of any discrimination in asking to deblur the camera by itself. It also has nothing to do with an I9 validation. The I9 validation is checking for employment eligibility and citizenship status and that's it. See below for the remote procedures. The employer's obligation is to be consistent in the procedure and not discriminatory with the procedure based on race, gender, etc. I just think that HR drone is a dumbass.
Lastly, I think based on your other response to another poster she should take the job and just be keenly aware if anyone else in HR asks other funny stuff. There can always be dumbasses in every department and that's not a reflection of their ability to be lawful or a bad company. I also think it's worth reporting the person if they keep doing funny stuff.
From USCIS: Remote Examination of Documents Procedures: Examine copies (front and back, if the document is two-sided) of Form I-9 documents or an acceptable receipt to ensure that the documentation presented reasonably appears to be genuine and relates to the employee; Conduct a live video interaction with the individual presenting the document(s) to ensure that the documentation reasonably appears to be genuine and relates to the individual. The employee must first transmit a copy of the document(s) to the employer (per Step 1 above) and then present the same document(s) during the live video interaction; and Retain a clear and legible copy of the documentation (front and back if the documentation is two-sided).

I think we went through 3 removeds on one within the warranty period... Great ride with sliding windows and sliding door. Good times. I recall my dad showing me the engine under the hood. I don't have any idea how someone worked on it. It was horribly crammed in.

Seems like they figure if they can con the postal service worker to get the mail past the first goalie then it'll end up wherever it needs to end up. I read down the rabbit hole and there is some crazy interpretations of you as the sender act as some independent entity with a population of 1 so you qualify for the source of this non postage mail item. I'm tired now.

As others have noted, LLMs are prone to error and need review. They can be very helpful in taking large amounts of information and making it more concise.
To your question about how AI can generally be of use, AI is good at taking large amounts of information we humans normally would have issue consuming and reacting to and giving us reactions based on the algorithm we gave it related to the info. I'll give you an example from my life that may make sense to you as a fellow small business owner.
I used to work for a large company that had a travel agent. I used to travel every week and was told to use the agency to book my flights. The corp has specific requirements about 2nd best cost and non stop vs 1 stop. I could end up with a crappy seat and extra flight stops and had no control officially. Back then I would use Expedia to stitch together what flights I wanted and then casually provide constraints to the agency so that I would get exactly the carrier, non stop flights and decent seats... But it required time to figure these things out. I was the AI taking all of the info thay mattered to me and crafted my result based on what I wanted. I would game the agency/corp's constraints to get the one flight I wanted.
AI could be useful for managing your schedule (personal and work) to book sessions for clients. One could argue that how hard is it to just let clients book into your schedule, but consider Motion app. Motion can watch how you book clients, when you take lunch, when you normally start or end days, and help move appointments around or create availability on the fly. You could tell an AI app like motion that you need prep and clean up time, you take longer lunches two days a week, etc...
As with all AI you can do what it does. What's interesting is AI can learn your processes and start to anticipate like a good Admin executive.. But it takes training and maintenance. That's the expensive part. Maybe time, maybe money, maybe both.
To make a long post longer, AI could help with marketing. It's like the old school mail inserts, but with extra smarts. I'm sure there are AI marketing tools that take certain data and constraints and then shoot out various emails, calls, texts and posts to the demos you need at a frequency and amplitude that the tool thinks matches your business model. I'm speculating at this point tho.

American Movie. Sweet film about a quirky but determined film maker to make a movie and hit it big. The characters are fantastic slices of Americana.
Anvil. Film about a heavy metal band who almost made it and try one last time. The crazy part is the night I watched it they were playing in my home town. I regret not going to see them. They are just a few normal guys who are lived by their community and once rocked out on the same stage as Metallica.

Corporations now buy the carpet bomb factory to expand their bomb product line and then carpet bomb their own factory after the war is over.
This may be out there already, but it seems like I have seen multiple teaser trailers (including Trailer 1 for Gladiator 2) that seem to have terrible writing and terrible voice overs that sound like AI.
I picked my first lock today. It was a cylinder from a Yale deadbolt that I lost the keys to. I'm so pumped. I sat there for over an hour and finally watched a video to learn the pins are little pistons in Yales. I modified the pressure and approach and bam. It just clicked. Cylinder is now repinned to match my current Yale key. Wish I could cut my own keys. Then I'd be a full turkey service (ha... get it). I told my 12 year old who was making fun of me while I was doing it and she actually looked happy for me when I ran in and told her. She even let me show her how a cylinder and key are pinned.
Anyone have a reliable URL for KERA? Something changed a few months ago and I can't find a link that'll work in my XIIA internet streaming app.
Bummer that this place went up in flames. Hoping it didn't significantly damage surrounding buildings and offices.
Someone on /c/requests asked for a Dallas community so I figured I'd ask here. I'm a suburbanite so I don't feel comfortable trying to mod for a place I don't live in.
Here is a huge thank you to the /c/dfw mod team. You are doing a great job creating content for our viewing pleasure.
I am selfishly promoting the Lemmy.world page for [KTCK](https://lemmy.world/c/theticket) Ticket listeners. Not sure how many have come over recently but feel free to check it out. It's pretty threadbare since I am trying to do too many things at once, but you have to start somewhere.
Just posting here to say Hello! Come join us over on /c/dfw if you are in that region or want to keep an eye on things.
Not that this place needs a nudge, but a little gem in Addison is Lefty's. My go-to family owned restaurant that's been a staple for me for almost two decades. It's tiny and it doesn't hurt to get a rez, but pound for pound it's a great, reasonably priced ($$-$$$) night out. They are not going to wow with a huge bar or huge menu, but everything is done well. It's well loved by the locals and rotates through some famous people in the reg. Check it out.
But here's to hoping this /c/ will gain critical mass!
I was going to create a Dallas community, however I don't live there. I am in a burb and needed a larger sphere of influence when it comes to getting hot takes on food or activity in the region. If someone gets the Dallas community rolling drop a note here and I'll subscribe to it as well.
Happy to share the wealth. Trying to bring in the other fellow and former DFW Redditors.
