Yesterday, I just learnt about Feminine autism after a neuropsychologist mentioned it to me. He said 'feminine', because of the gender-cultured reasons contributing to underdiagnosis in women and LGBTIQ individuals too.

That's the reason I am doing my best to understand by reading in communities as r/AutismInWomen, and noticing the need for safe spaces due to issues with the male autistic community.

Still, I just would like to note that some individuals new to minority-based communities may be new to the language on itself and have this double struggle with social interactions leading to "double exclusion" in certain situations, e.g. in the LGBTIQ+ community.

I promise my intentions are not bad, but I can struggle for hours to communicate a simple idea effectively and still do an epic fail. Sorry.

we people from Western countries import industry and export garbage, when we could have a responsible national, inner, circular, market first, so we don't affect other economies so much and so bad.

i feel we people from Western countries are in a much powerful position than people from those countries because we are the Demanding part of the market. we shape it. they Offer what we Demand. sadly, when it comes to the market, a bunch of Westerners can have more impact on India's Government than one of their citizens.

the problem: we are powerful but we cannot make it count because we are disorganized on what to do and how, we have been numbed and individualized.

we can cry in forums or go greta'ing to random politicians, but when it comes to action it feels like we are "oh no! ... anyway" and go to daily stuff again. i think the easiest way to not get overwhelmed by this is starting local, making active choices in our economies and prosecuting corruption.

in Spain we get fined if we don't recycle or even if a box is outside their respective container (even if it's not ours, some councils just want to fine people)

the company in charge of recycling (EcoEmbes) is not doing their job of waste collection, sorting, separation and treatment in our country, and they are even faking their statistics to make us think in Spain we are achieving our recycling goals, when we are not recycling even the 25 %.

many Spanish citizens already know about this and they recycle 'just in case', or they get so damn discouraged that they decide not to recycle at all. we are just.. tired and depressed. no will to fight since 2014.

i have four containers, one for each garbage type, and i still recycle even if i know maybe not even the 25 % of it will be treated as it should.

um... no, i don't use advanced features at all.

but this part of your message: "i only use a smart fraction of Thunderbird's capabilities", made my mind click, as it's totally what i feel as an 'intended' Thunderbird user.

for me, it feels like there are too many options, too many menus, too many buttons. it's easy for me to feel overwhelmed or distracted by the UI.

i wonder if there's some "compact UI" mode i haven't checked out, as i am a very basic email user. for me, Outlook simpleness was perfect, aside from the ads and stupid things like not being able to write an "@" (on an email client!).

so true, pal! slowly, with patience, no rushing, putting love into it, organizing ourselves, working smart is better than working hard and fast.

because of the federated nature of fediverses like Lemmy, it is very possible that many people are doing the very same task without even knowing they are duping each other's efforts.

and that's sad because if they knew, they could be teaming up, or splitting the task in two, in order to avoid wasting different efforts into dupe results.

i have learnt a thing or two about burnout, it's better for me to make 40% planning, and 40 % self-care and so the 20 % of execution becomes piece of cake.

but please, don't feel forced to overwork yourselves. i understand you want to do it soon so more people can move from Reddit, but i wouldn't like that Lemmy software and community developers overwork and feel miserable, as those things are some of the very motives you escaped from Reddit in first place.

in my opinion, it would be nice that we users understand this situation and, if we want lemmy so bad, we actively help with it.
