Y'all liked me enough to have 4 different people meet with me, what was the fucking problem? What did I do that made me not ONE OF THE TEN PEOPLE they hired for the role?   A comrade on here was kind enough to lend me their gig work account (once again Hexbear saves my ass IRL <3 ), so I'm chugging away on that to make rent this month, and my power bill is way overdue but I'm sure I can do something for that down the line. I've got another interview with some other company next week, but goddamn. I thought I had this one in the bag. Had a spare 256gb sd card and threw that in, went through the initial setup and downloaded the music related apps I like. It's got an internal speaker that, while not good at all, is enough for me. It's also super nice to see a headphone jack again! Can rip stuff from the internet right onto the device without filling up my phone. Hell yeah. The responsiveness is nowhere near what you'd expect from a phone or more expensive android based things, but it's fine enough if youre just playing media it's totally fine. I know it's not impressive or interesting or anything but I'm really happy to have a dedicated mp3 player again! Reject modernity retvrn to ipod

Could use a few more staples at home, and I've been dealing with doctor bullshit regarding my Lexapro. TLDR is I need to pick up a 2 week bridge prescription until I can talk to the finance department for my primary tomorrow (probably not open today, about to call) about getting seen for free. Have the usual Zelle, venmo, and paypal - holler if you need them! Waiting on some gig work to be assigned this week, so until then, just trying to cover what I immediately need.

The AI bubble is popping, it seems, and the shit i was doing for a while earlier this summer has dried up. Honestly, i just need to make a grand a month for rent (not the exact number but i don't wanna discuss the real amount in public), and my other material needs are met through friends and family, aside from the occasional bill. I've found what seems to be a number of places that hire support agents for large companies, so im gonna get the ball rolling on a few of those tonight - a lot aren't able to hire in Illinois, so ill do what I can there. I basically have as much time as needed for whatever is out there. I just really like remote stuff because 1) ive got two dogs, and 2) im a homebody. And just to get ahead of the question since it'll probably come up - yes, I've gone around the neighborhood in person recently looking for whatever, and can't even get a call back about being a dishwasher or barista. Shit fuckin sucks out there.

I woke up almost 3 hours earlier than usually, and pretty much immediately had to start going off on my doctor about my lexapro. Chilled for a while after, did small things around the house, napped, and just got back from a not-quite-practice sesh with the bands drummer. We mostly just hooked my amps up to different speakers and played with different gain pedals to get good tone for recording. I dunno, things have just felt....off all day. Sitting in the twilight with the corgi rn and the feeling still hasn't gone away. Oh well, I guess

Started a half dose yesterday per my docs orders, upping to full dose after a week. Damn i feel like it knocks me out of commission. I slammed 2 energy drinks this morning and have brain fog like a mother fucker. It's like im high, got that wet blanket feeling in my brain, but without the fun stuff.

The past few years, I've been doing most of my music listening off my phone. I use soulseek and just download right to my music folder, but with that comes obsessively hunting for obscure bands and filling up memory fast. I don't use headphones and just let my phone speakers play it pointed at my head out of my breast pocket. I started seeing that some companies make phone sized mp3 players with built in speakers for less than 50.
