Yes! I had to use tape to black out the LEDs on devices in my bedroom because I could see all manner of blinking lights once I dimmed the room lights.

Tbh I don't really care either way, I haven't been on reddit for 3 weeks now.

Given all the antics by the company and the despicable behavior by spez and his henchmen, my position on reddit has gone from "I'll use it much less now that my mobile app is gone and I only have desktop access" to "I will go out of my way to avoid providing value to the company even if it inconveniences me".

I just spent the better part of 5 hours yesterday manually deleting all my top comments from reddit. They can revoke edits made by pushshift, but they won't be able to figure out which manual edits to revoke. I used to give out technical advice on reddit and I used to get messages thanking me for posts I made years ago. Now all of those posts are gone.

All the news about reddit over the last few days have made me realise that I no longer personally care.

I mean it's still funny to read about the way subs are protesting, but I haven't been on the site since the protests, and now I don't get angry about the changes anymore. It's a sign that I've finally kicked reddit out of my life after more than a decade on the platform.

Yeah, the behavior by spez and the company as a whole afterwards was abysmal. Trying to gaslight Christian was the last straw for me (lucky he had the call logs). It went from "I'm going to use reddit much less because my third party app is being killed" to "I actively hate this company and will go out of my way to avoid giving them any money at all".

Not just that, some review site look like they were put together by web scrapers and AI.

"Is this phone better than that phone? Phone A has a Snapdragon 8000 chip but Phone B has a Snapdragon 7000. However Phone B has more Ram (12GB vs 9GB). Therefore it depends."

Thats not a review, that's just listing things off the manufacturers specs list.

This community exists? What a sick joke

I'm not crazy! I know spez lied about the call! I knew Christian never threatened him. One dev to another. As if I could ever make such a mistake. Never. Never! I just – I just couldn't prove it. He – he covered his tracks, he got his PR people to lie for him. You think this is something? You think this is bad? This? This chicanery? He's done worse. /r/jailbait! Are you telling me that mod magically got a badge out of nowhere? No! He orchestrated it! Spez! He created the shitty new UI! And I believed him! And I shouldn't have. I took him at his word! What was I thinking? He'll never change. He'll never change! Ever since he was 26, always the same! Couldn't keep his hands off the site! But not our spez! Couldn't be precious spez! Gaslighting us all! And he gets to be rich!? What a sick joke! I should've stopped him when I had the chance! And you – you have to stop him! You-

Can't go to the bathroom more than once per class? OK, I'll just stand outside the classroom.

I have a story that kinda fits! Never shared this before, but I'm sure many people have experienced something similar. Anyway, this was long ago in kindergarten. We had one teacher who, for some strange reason, hated it when kids went to the toilet. She'd track who went to the toilet and ask us kindergardeners things like "didn't you just go when I came in" or "why do you always need to go when I'm teaching". Oh and this is necessary context for later - our classrooms had louvered, transparent windows along the corridor, and the windows were usually kept open, so you could look in easily from the corridor. Some of us figured out that it was easier to hold your crotch and make a pained expression every time we needed to go. We'd just say "I really need to go" and hop around and she'd relent. But after a few too many people did that she got angry and declared that nobody could go to the bathroom twice in her class and started writing down the names of kids who went to the bathroom. If your name was on the board you couldn't leave the classroom again. So one day, one of my brilliant classmates asked to go to the toilet, then brought his workbook and pencil out with him. When he came back, he stood outside the classroom listening to the teacher. Our teacher asked him to come in. He said "but if I come in, I can't go to the toilet later." Of course the teacher made him come in and changed the rules after that. But I'd like to think this kid became a lawyer.
