For existing installation’s I can understand why oracle is still in use. For any new build I really can’t fathom why anyone would reach for oracle over Postgres other than ignorance.

I tend to make my own sauces. My staple bases are soy (dark and light), oyster, fish and sesame oil.

Keen to hear how you go!
I'll have a go at indoor crops. I don't have much outdoor space with varying amounts of light exposure, so I am limited in what I can try.

Ah ok, thank you!
Is there a world where I can have a neverending supply of these herbs (parsley, basil, coriander, etc.) - maybe having a few different crops at different stages of growth?
Is there any way to salvage a coriander plant when it does this, or am I best to mulch it and start from scratch? My parsley is looking like it is about to do the same thing. Is there any way to prevent it and help it continue producing?

Our house has ducted evaporative cooling. It works great on dry hot days but is absolutely useless if there’s any amount of humidity. We’re going to get a split system in our bedroom for hot humid days.
We’re in Melbourne so it works well enough for the few stinking hot days we get.

Stripe has pretty robust subscription management. And their APIs are a dream to work with.

You could submit a PR to change it?

Depending on how nerdy you want to be, hledger is pretty robust.
It would take a bit of setup, but you can automate transaction imports and apply rules to categorise transactions automatically.
Check out https://plaintextaccounting.org/ for write-ups, alternatives, etc.

AWS Route53. Lets me keep all my domains in one place. If Cloudflare did .au I’d switch to that.

I've been wondering if there's a way to do this with actual bank accounts. I know with ING I can only have like 2 savings/transactional accounts (1 joint, 1 personal).
I'd like to be able to spin up accounts for these categories and use them as the "envelopes" instead of relying on cash.

What alternatives are there for ducted heating?
I went induction cooktop and will never look back. Gas heating and water are all we have left. Hot water is probably a bit prohibitively expensive for us to change for the moment.

It's a free trial; you haven't paid for any period of time.
I have "Apple One", and under the "Cancel All Services" button, it says if I cancel now, they will remain active until the end of the current subscription period.

PhotoSync is a great one for downloading your photos library.

I use it to sync my iCloud Photos to my local NAS for a peace of mind backup.
For files - as the other person said just copy and paste from the folder on your desktop.

I have never had any trouble with 1Password. But with Apple bringing support for 3rd party browsers, I might be tempted to switch to that. https://www.macrumors.com/2023/07/12/macos-sonoma-apple-passwords-third-party-browsers/

If you're a bit on the techy side, take a look at plain text accounting.
I'm not overly familiar with how things work financially in the U.S. for day-to-day things, but here in Australia, I run everything through my debit card, so at the end of the month, I import all my transactions into Hledger, allocate them to their appropriate expenditure account (i.e., food, gas, utilities, dining out, etc.) and then I can run a report on where my money has gone. I've been doing it over the past 2 years and it gives some really good insight.
Although it's retrospective, it helps me understand what I'm spending my money on and can help forecast and budget.
This is the recipe for my basic bagels. I'll mix and knead the dough at breakfast and bake them fresh for lunch.

I'd like a garden that's useful for cooking - herbs, basic veg/tomatoes. But I don't really know where to start. I had a small patch of herbs, but it was overrun by weeds. I'd like to start this spring with a fresh raised garden bed in my (small) front garden. It receives a decent amount of sun. Are there any good resources out there for establishing a garden like this in Melbourne? Google obviously is fairly northern-hemisphere oriented, so seasons/availability don't really align. Things I'm curious about are – - what to plant - when to plant - when to harvest - how to harvest - how to deal with pests - how to deal with weeds - seeds vs. seedlings - how often to water - how much to water - to feed or not to feed
