It might be kinda hard to pull off, but I’ll see what I can do. I’m not sure if KES can be used to (easily) modify the post rankings, but I think randomly hiding them based on a factor you set could work well. So if you set it to 50% for @memes, it’ll hide half of the posts from there on average.

It’s not perfect, but I think it strikes the right balance between seeing every post and blocking it. I’m busy this weekend but I’ll create an issue on KES’s GitHub repo and someone might beat me to it.

Honestly, it's a great question! While kbin is open source, making userscripts allows you to iterate on changes and get updates out very quickly. It's also much easier to start making userscripts than it is to contribute directly to the project, since you only really need to be familiar with JS, HTML, and CSS. To contribute to kbin, you need to be familiar with PHP and Twig, and set up your own instance for testing your changes.

Plus, while kbin is open source, not every single change will be merged, and there will likely always be features "missing" from it. Userscripts also give you a ton of freedom and flexibility in how you use sites, so you could make crazy changes that aren't remotely possible to merge into it.

    Hope that answers your questions!

kbin Enhancement Suite: a community-curated script manager that lets you customize your kbin experience

A couple of weeks ago, [@shazbot](https://kbin.social/u/shazbot) made [this post](https://kbin.social/m/kbinStyles/t/75584/kbin-megamod-proposal-and-proof-of-concept-for-integrated-collection-of) about a project that they were working on. Since then, [@shazbot](https://kbin.social/u/shazbot), [@ori](https://sacredori.net/u/Ori), [@minnieo](https://kbin.social/u/minnieo) and I have been hard at work, and we are excited to finally announce the official release of [kbin Enhancement Suite](https://github.com/aclist/kbin-kes) (KES)! kbin has seen an explosion of user-made add-ons, but keeping track of them in one place, letting them share settings with one another, and toggling them on and off can be a challenge. KES is an expandable add-on manager that aims to rectify this by providing a unified interface and framework for script makers to collaborate, and letting you use them all in one place. KES brings together userscripts from the community, with a built-in settings menu that lets you tailor your experience to your liking. It also offers a flexible framework that empowers script authors to effortlessly integrate scripts into KES and set up custom input fields with no additional code. KES gives you a single window onto a collection of enhancements that is growing by the day. And those features can be added to by you! [The KES settings menu](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/artillect/kbin-megamod/add-screenshots/images/settings.png) [What the feed looks like with everything enabled](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/artillect/kbin-megamod/add-screenshots/images/threads.png) [The comments with everything turned on](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/artillect/kbin-megamod/add-screenshots/images/comments.png) Features ========== We’ve focused on making customizing your kbin experience as easy as possible, whether you are on mobile or desktop. After we sort out the bug reports from this release, we plan on adding many more features! Here’s what we have so far: * Collapsible comments with nesting (by [@artillect](https://kbin.social/u/artillect)) * Use slash commands to add emoticons in text areas (by [@minnieo](https://kbin.social/u/minnieo)) * Add syntax highlighting (with customizable themes) to code blocks (by [@ori](https://sacredori.net/u/Ori)) * Show instance names next to non-local users and communities (by [@artillect](https://kbin.social/u/artillect)) * Add a link to message users on your instance next to their usernames (by [@shazbot](https://kbin.social/u/shazbot)) * Hide upvote/downvote buttons and reputation (by [@artillect](https://kbin.social/u/artillect)) * Show more detailed timestamps on threads and comments (by [@shazbot](https://kbin.social/u/shazbot)) * Hide thumbnails on threads (by [@shazbot](https://kbin.social/u/shazbot)) * Add link to subscribed magazines to the navbar (by [@shazbot](https://kbin.social/u/shazbot)) * Replace or hide the kbin logo in the navbar (by [@shazbot](https://kbin.social/u/shazbot)) * Add “OP” label next to thread author’s username in comments (by [@shazbot](https://kbin.social/u/shazbot)) * Convert navigation links on profile pages into a dropdown (by [@shazbot](https://kbin.social/u/shazbot)) Each of these can be toggled in the settings menu, and some of them have additional configuration options, such as setting custom labels, colors, etc. New features are added on a rolling basis and the menu pages will update on the fly to reflect this new content. Installation ========== **[Click here to install KES](https://github.com/aclist/kbin-kes/raw/main/kes.user.js)**, and follow your userscript manager’s prompt to complete the installation. If you don’t have a userscript management extension, you can install one of these, and then install KES using the link above: * [TamperMonkey](https://www.tampermonkey.net/) (desktop, or Firefox on Android) * [Userscripts](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/userscripts/id1463298887) (iOS 15+) Once KES is successfully installed, access the settings menu by clicking on the wrench icon located at the top-right corner next to your username. From there, you can enable the features you like, and customize your browsing experience. More information ========== For bug reports and feature requests, visit our [GitHub repository’s issues page](https://github.com/aclist/kbin-kes/issues). If you have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to ask here or make a post on [/m/enhancement](/m/enhancement)! Developers ========== If you are a userscript author, we’d love it if you could try porting your userscripts into KES, or try writing completely new ones for it! [@shazbot](https://kbin.social/u/shazbot) has made it easy to integrate your scripts: you just need to add your script’s information to `manifest.json`, make a few small modifications to your script, add it all to the GitHub repository, and you’re good to go! KES benefits: * Turnkey integration: a simple, declarative framework for dynamically adding features to the UI without touching the underlying code * Sharing of user-defined settings through script namespaces: access your script settings, and those from other scripts, through a well-defined object * Automatically responds to infinite scroll and page reload events * Attribution of script authors * Easily toggle scripts on/off Explore KES’s documentation [here](https://aclist.github.io/kes/kes.html#_developers) to get started. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out here, on [/m/enhancement](/m/enhancement), or at our [GitHub repository](https://github.com/aclist/kbin-kes).

I think you're also right that IBM is behind the OEM profile, which I think was originally used in the Selectric III

We hope that these new bans will cultivate a more creative, interesting, and fun format for people to compete in. **Commander only bans:** * Rusko, Clockmaker, * Teferi, Hero of Dominaria * Raffine, Scheming Seer **In the 99 bans:** * Wash Away The Season 7 tournament just wrapped up with Atraxa, Grand Unifier taking down Kethis, the Hidden Hand in the finals. With Rusko, Teferi, and Raffine out as commanders (these cards are still legal in the 99) we have our eye on Atraxa for a future ban if this phyrexian value bomb takes over the format. With the two best control decks out of the format this could time for aggressive decks like Adeline and Ragavan to shine, though. I tried looking around for a changelog but I couldn't find one anywhere (let me know if you know where it is, I know you can look at the commits/merged PRs on Codeberg but there's a lot to dig through). Here's some of the changes I've noticed: * Profile picture next to username in top right * Comments can now be sorted by "top" * Larger image preview when uploading an image * Magazine stats are now localized (yay!!!) * kbin logo instead of stormtrooper in the "Create your own instance" box * Vote colors are brighter on dark mode * New theme: Tokyo Night This is just what I've seen after using the site for a bit after the update, let me know if there's anything I've missed! Edit: I just noticed that you can filter posts by language now, that's huge!

(more of an traffic ai thing) > > > > > ramps that can be at the same speed as the main highway? > > > > > Will cars not do the something dumb like exit and reenter the same hiway at an ramp just due to the path being not as long? > Speeds are tied to the road itself, however, you can set them up with a lot more freedom than you're used to from Cities: Skylines. How they merge depends on how you connect them. We'll get into how the AI works next week. > > > > > Xain said: > Also, will it be possible to build big, monumental roundabouts (Place de l'Etoile in Paris, for example), with a monument at the centre with the roundabout tool? > Not using the built-in roundabout tool, they aren't quite big enough. But you can build roundabouts using one-way roads and decorate the center how you'd like. > > > > > VirtusIncognita said: > Since we can build roads over roads (given enough clearance) and pedastrian roads were announced (with them being open to service vehicles); will it be possible to build pedestrian roads over normal roads? I looked over the trailer and there doesn't seem to be any 6 lane roads, which is disappointing considering that there's plenty of cities that have these roads. It would be also quite nice if we can add more lanes above 5 for certain uses, such as airport, cargo and heavy traffic areas. > > > > > And lastly, will there be presets that allows us to create roads without needing to manually set "upgrades/additions/set auto parallel lanes" each time? Having more control over the roads is great, but it would be nice to have the repetitive tasks streamlined. > We have both 6, 7, and 8 lane roads. Upgrades/additions can be added to long sections of road, similar to upgrading to a different road type, so it's quite quick to add once your road is built. Parallel mode is enabled or disabled as you build, so if you're building a lot of parallel roads, you just set it up and build until you want just one road again. > > > > > Marov84 said: > 2. By the way, speaking of cars, buses, trams and any other wheeled vehicles, will the windows be tinted or will you be able to see drivers and passengers in them (something similar can be seen in Transport Fever 2)? > Vehicles have tinted windows so your citizens get a little privacy. > > > > > rackiew said: > Also, about the grid tool, can we control the grid size and shape? that wasnt clear. > The grid essentially fills in a square and you control the size of that square. Roads are evenly spaced out in the grid, so how tight you want them depends on the size. But as you are dragging it out you get a preview of the roads and zoning so you can determine what works best for your city. > >

Improved Collapsible Comments - Script that lets you collapse replies by clicking a line to the side of each comment

[Download it from greasyfork](https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/468923-kbin-better-collapsible-comments) This userscript for kbin enhances the comment section adjusting the layout and adding a line to the left of each comment and its replies that lets you collapse them. The design is inspired by some custom subreddit stylesheets, and new reddit surprisingly enough (you know what they say about broken clocks). Personally, I think this is the best way to handle collapsing comments [here's a screenshot](https://i.imgur.com/RuF0rS1.png). [A video of it in action](https://i.imgur.com/d4WMz5N.mp4) If you don't have a userscript manager extension installed, you can install [Tampermonkey](https://www.tampermonkey.net/), and then open the greasyfork link above.

kbin Magazine Style Toggle - Lets you enable and disable per-magazine stylesheets greasyfork.org

I made this userscript that adds a checkbox to the sidebar that lets you turn off a magazine's custom stylesheet. Check out the [/m/kbinStyles thread for more info](https://kbin.social/m/kbinStyles/t/45352/kbin-Magazine-Style-Toggle-Lets-you-enable-and-disable-per-magazine) [Here's what it looks like](https://i.imgur.com/ae6Bbhk.png)

Userscript for filtering posts by language on kbin https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/468754-kbin-language-filter

I've created a userscript that hides posts based on the language set in the badge. You can change the whitelisted languages by adding them to the whitelist variable. For example, if you only want to see English and German posts, you can change the whitelist to `let whitelist = ['en', 'OC', 'de']` Let me know if there are any issues! I haven't tested it much, but it seems to be working well

How can we smooth out the migration and help promote kbin/lemmy to subreddits and redditors?

I think the biggest thing we need to figure out is how to make it sound easier than people say it is. People get too hung up on the technicalities of how the fediverse works, and they never try it out and see that it isn't as confusing as it sounds. If we could write up a simple blurb to help promote kbin to subreddit moderators and people around reddit, I think that could really help

kbin.social is getting the hug of death right now, consider signing up for another instance

Hey Reddit refugees! You may have noticed that kbin.social is taking forever to load because of all of the traffic it's getting. Luckily, there are a few other kbin instances that you can use right now! [kilioa.org](https://kilioa.org/) and [fedia.io](https://fedia.io) have recently popped up over the last few days, and they're still running smoothly during the Reddit blackout. They're also still federating with Lemmy, so you can see posts from beehaw.org and lemmy.ml (federation is currently disabled on kbin.social due to the cloudflare protection).

What cards are you looking forward to playing with when the LotR set comes out?

Looks like there's gonna be a bunch of EDH staples and a bunch of fun cards for other formats. I'm really excited to add [Reprieve](https://scryfall.com/card/ltr/26/reprieve) to my Geist of Saint Traft brawl list
