Conservatism was always like that.
They see the average voter like a child, which is too dumb to understand the world, and as such needs to be lied to about things.Their main goal, since the fall of kings, is to conserve power. It's just so conveniently also coincides with a lot of tradition, which they often cover behind.
I am a former conservative, and one of theirs tried to hold me back with their version of the "birds and the bees" talk, even promising me "private freedom" (doing either the harmless stuff they're against, or the really fucked up ones, as long as no one finds out) and wealth if I manage to reach the "inner echelons" of their operations.

I became a leftist, because I got enough of the liberal "they go low, we go high" mantra. You never turn the other cheeck to a person, who will proceed to punch it again. In fact, if they once failed to do better in such cases, they're just want to abuse your fair game.

I'm quite sad that most games for smartphones are either gatcha-hell, or add-ridden messes.
What good options are there? I tried OpenTTD for Android, but the UI is really not optimized for such a small screen.

In 1, if there was a workplace, it's likely way farther away from 2, with more limited choices.
Want to do office job as a disabled person in 1? Bad luck, your only options are a few different factories with different kind of workplace abuses, all requiring you to wake up at 4AM, because the factory opens up at 6AM. Disabled? No, you're not, you have all your limbs, you just want to take money from the government to then spend it on luxury cars, and maybe a few months of lifting at the factory will make it "magically go away". Maybe your "wanting to do art" will also be cured, which hopefully got crushed by the good AI, as artists are evil because they don't get cool injuries during their craft.
People were okay with apartments, but then some upper-middle class Karens and their male counterparts started to whine about not having "a kitchen garden" (which none of those fuckers can care about at all, thus becoming hotspots for bugs) and "a place where their child can play" (alone), and who knows, their neighbors could be a migrant/black/Roma/whatever is the current boogeyman at your local area.
Also if you're in the US, you're owning the 1 way less than 2 in Europe, thanks to HOAs.

Trump would immediately abandon Europe if Putin would ask nice enough. I have a feeling that to "appease" Russia for "arming nazis in Ukraine", would immediately kick EE and Baltic states out of NATO, and would also ask the EU to let go of those, so Putin can just destroy their democracies via espionage, and not through war.

I actually got into a fight over suggesting someone to use stock photos instead of grungy-smeary AI generated images for their (sh)articles, so at least I won't believe it was too AI generated. Then they insisted on it being their own creation, and how they became an artist through words.

One thing I had to learn through the years of my life, if you turn the other cheek, you might make someone flinch the first or second time, but after a while, they'll be expecting you turning the other cheek for the second punch, and call you "uncivil" and "unfair" the very moment you don't turn the other cheek. Just replace the "turning the other cheek" with the whole "they go low, we go high" mantra.

Depends on the disk technologies.
CDs are prone to flaking, otherwise most disk are suspectible of oxidation (disk rot) if stored improperly. M-Disk is a long-life variant of both DVDs and Blu-Rays, although more expensive. However, write-once disks are very ransomware-resilient, and I recommend to add a write-once media to any proper backup setup.

It was quite difficult to look up for Windows, and X11 has its own more complicated way of doing things. On X11, I've managed to enter fullscreen, but exiting is even more difficult and less documented. I know Wayland exists, but as long as XWayland provides a good enough support, I'll use that instead for now, due to lack of time on my own side. EDIT: To clarify: I meant how do I do it via API calls, in programming, not by what key is the default (which is F11).
Context: On the bottom one, she's shredding on the guitar, and wanted to make fun of a previous "before feminism/after feminism" meme.
It would be nice if it could be disabled, or set to a longer swipe like with in the main one. I can't even remember which community I last unsubbed from accident, just because a scroll was too diagonal for the app.
Originally, I was going to use D, but its current WASM guideline is buried under a lot of Discord threads, all while people are lazy to touch the wiki. I need to test stuff with WASM (use for scripting in applications, not browsers). Please NO RUST!!! While I see why functional programming is useful (I even use wasmtime as my WASM engine, which is developed in Rust), but is horribly counterproductive for game development, especially if it's opt out like in Rust. EDIT: In the meanwhile, I've found AssemblyScript, which seems to be good for my usecase.

I have a Nektar keyboard I've repaired for the most part, but the previous owner's bad gluing of the keyboard mechanism wasn't very good. Since I'm not very good with normal musical keyboards, I was thinking about modifying its keybed into a [Jankó keyboard](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jank%C3%B3_keyboard).
I'm getting back into playing guitar, but I want to skip on constantly changing tunings and strings for them, also I would like some octaver effect or something like that.
Display of OpenGL context works fine on Windows, no issues with resizing. Function `glViewport` works as intended. It only has issues with X11 on Linux (no plans yet to implement Wayland due to lack of free time). Resizing breaks everything, and it doesn't really work the way you expect (point of triangle moves down if you make it taller, etc). I cannot find anything on if I should call anything else besides `glViewport`, only that "you should use [insert already existing library], which will take care of this behavior". Others are suggesting me that it's an issue with my distro, but I cannot find any OpenGL testcase that is small enough to test on my VM or my Raspberry Pi to actually test whether that's the case.
When resizing an X11 window with OpenGL content, the image becomes garbled and certain parts of the window, usually at the parts that wasn't originally part of the initial framebuffer. I couldn't find any documentation on if I supposed to call some extra functions when the window is being resized or not. I otherwise process that even as a system event, so it can be further processed by the program using my API.
