Steam is known to be more generous about the rule if you have few refunds on your profile and a decent amount of purchases. Unfortunately the same can't be said for updates, even if the update makes the game unplayable.

Most extensions have good equivalents. Other languages like Julia are VSCode only. Fortran was the language that really made me jump ship, PyCharm's Fortran extension is barely syntax highlighting. Remote - SSH is the killer though, it is a beautifully made and essential tool for working with remote systems.

Most importantly, PyCharm doesn't really have any killer features or extensions that makes it essential.

I did for a few years. Eventually I had to switch to VSCode because any given Jetbrains product is only good at a single language, and constantly switching Jetbrains products is a nightmare. Now that I've been using VSCode for a while, there are some extension that are so critical to my workflow Jetbrains is virtually useless to me without them.

VSCode is an open source IDE. Its biggest rival is the JetBrains suite. When the alternatives are proprietary, VSCode is a win.

There are other query languages. InfluxDB develops one called Flux. It's a master class on why corporate led open source can really suck. Daily use features get deprecated all the time and each new release is breaking. The documentation is horribly insufficient and the language syntax is usually not clear and it wraps many behaviors into one vague function name. Yes, SQL is pretty impressive.

All of them. Every idea any web designer has had since 2000 has been a bad one. Content on the internet is exclusively worse since Facebook was released. Redesigns let management get convenient quarterly objectives and we spend way too much time redesigning when we could be getting features. It's all absurd.

By your own argument, CS2 is worse than Overwatch. CS2 removed over half of the maps, features, and the gameplay is way worse. Overwatch gameplay was pretty similar, although switching to 5v5 has its problems. It ran the same on the same hardware. The biggest change was the economy which doesn't affect gameplay. I feel like I completely lost access to CS, but I played OW2 for months until the gameplay problems with the meta became more apparent.

It certainly feels like there is an input lag problem compared to CSGO. Just because we can't reliably measure it yet doesn't mean we don't know it's there. A player can know what's happening intuitively without looking at stats.

CS2 feels like a downgrade from CSGO in a lot of ways, but CSGO at launch and CSGO at end of life were two completely different games, the same is probably true for CS2. Long term support is what keeps games going.

The video in the other comment is great, but doesn't really get into how useless this "tool" is for everyone. We never had a shutdown before the 80s, and they have turned into annual talking points. Each shutdown the rules are a bit different depending on length and if partial budgets get passed. Defense sometimes gets its own budget passed so they don't shutdown.

In a shutdown, federal employees don't work. It may sound like this will save the government money because people won't get paid for their non work. This isn't true, a vast majority of government employees continue to get paid, so the government is spending money it doesn't have and no work is getting done. Government contractors don't make new money during a shutdown. Large government contractors anticipate this and will plan a 14 day shutdown into their budget so they can keep working. This means they just have to over bill the government the rest of the year. Smaller contractors are the ones who actually get screwed out of pay and work, and usually subcontractors of contractors as well.

If it sounds like this doesn't help anyone, you'd be right. It's a bit of political theater that was more or less invented in the 80s so that congress can make the sitting president (probably from the opposing party) look bad. Government spending is never more inefficient than during a shutdown, so if you actually cared about spending, you would avoid them no matter what.

Remember that Martin Scorsese's last big movie was The Irishman, so he isn't saving the movie industry either.
