I did watch the video. It's why I asked. Anyone can say they are a consultant, and he doesn't really mention much to back that claim. He doesn't say anything novel either.
I'm not trying to be hypercritical, but if someone says that they are a credible source I want to know why.

Who is this guy and why should I care what he says?
Edit: Since no one could answer it. He's an indie developer and made a few games. Silver Falls, Clasherball, and Animelee. He also says he's a consultant, based on the video, but I couldn't find anything of him doing that.
So he's slightly a step above a regular guy making some video complaining.

Hashkully, the Byzantine Empire never existed. It was always the Eastern Roman Empire.
It was recoined as the Byzantine Empire after the fall of Constantinople from the Ottoman Empire in the 1400s by Renaissance scholars a few hundred years later.
They changed the history books when they wanted to make a distinction from the ancient Roman Empire from the very different but still same Roman Empire that fell not long before them, because the western Romans were considered pagans, and the East were Christians.
It was called the Byzantine Empire because the city that existed before Constantinople, was called Byzantium. Which was the new Roman capital when Emperor Constantine seized power, who was the first Christian Roman Emperor.

Maybe in large encampments but from my daily experience of watching a never ending battle from the police and a homeless spot they typically don't do that. They just tell them to leave, but they just come back eventually.
Everyday I walk by a spot where homeless congregate. At the beginning of the week there a few rambling around. By EOW there are 30 just sleeping coming down from their high or smoking meth. The cops come, tell them to leave, then it starts all over again.
They aren't exactly bothering anybody other than the smell and that the city has to power wash the parking structure on a weekly basis because they all piss and shit in it.
Look I care for these people, I'm not trying to sound all NIMBY here, but these are the type of people who don't want help. They want to stay in their hole. The only assistance you can give these people other than abducting them and put them in a facility, is to tell them to leave and go to a shelter. Addiction is a mother fucker, and the only disease you can get yelled at for.

Macroeconomics 101 would tell you no, prices won't go down because prices are sticky. Like your salary for example, just because a business is doing poorly your wage won't go down.
I won't get into the weeds about it, but if Ukraine was magically restored tomorrow, prices wouldn't go down but it would help prices from going up faster.
If we see prices go down that's a bad thing, and we are in for a rough time.

I agree. I typically skip sex scenes in movies. Those scenes very seldom add anything to the story imo.
Unless it makes sense. In "What Women Want" with Mel Gibson, I believe that is a great example of a sex scene adding to the movie. The whole premise is him reading women's minds, so him having sex with Marisa Tomei and hearing their thoughts while in the act added to the premise.
So when I see a movie that is just like "hey these people are hot and we should film them go at it" is just boring imo.

Never said it didn't, but reddit is more left leaning than right as a whole.
Lemmy is just straight lefty though. I'm a liberal person so it doesn't bother me other than it just being a massive circle jerk most of the time.
Look I understood that when I made that comment no one would like it, but it's just the truth...
I've been here since the API garbage from reddit, and use it daily so I feel like I can make an honest assessment of my experience thus far.
I like it, its great. Better than reddit in a lot of ways. If someone is/was a heavy Reddit user I recommend it.
Spaceinv8er 1 month ago • 50%
Welcome to Lemmy! If you thought Reddit was left leaning, you're in for a wild ride!
Also if you're an American you probably shouldn't be, because they automatically assume you're from the Bible belt. They will simultaneously say they don't care for American politics but then will always be talking about it.
Linux is the best OS just don't get into it. You better be using firefox. All the niche subs you had on Reddit aren't here, and you'll more likely just be blocking communities instead of subbing to anything.
And no one reads the articles, way more than reddit imo
The comments are slightly more interesting though.
It's not all that bad though, I'm being a little sarcastic, but only a little...

Yeah the last two were done by Taika Waititi, and if you've seen any of his other movies its on par with that directing style.
Imo Thor Ragnarok was the best standalone Thor movie, even if they completely changed the character.
The Love and Thunder one just felt like a repeat of Ragnarok in a lot of ways.

I recently decided to rewatch all the Marvel movies, because I'm boring, and after Guardians it took a pretty big turn.
Going from the more gritty drama with some funny one liners ever so once in awhile, to let's see how many one liners and nonchalant comedy we can put in.
Then after Endgame they ramped that shit up

Any battle royale games. They all look so toxic.
Most survival builder games. They're all the same. Only exception is Project Zomboid, but it has to be with friends.
Soulsborne games. If the game is hard, just to be hard it's not that fun for myself. I play games to escape the stress from my life. Not add to it.
Horror games. I have enough anxiety about mundane shit as it is, I don't need a game to give me more.

Whenever I see something like this I feel I must defend my friend who's a cop.
Before being a cop he was a lifeguard at a beach and my bassist.
Baywatch may tell you differently, but being a lifeguard is a seasonal job, and not a career. The next level of being a lifeguard is becoming a cop, so he did, and he has only beaten one black man so far.

It's fairly insane that from Romford to Sutton which is only 30 miles, it's roughly an hour and 45 minutes.
I just went to the Wiltern in downtown LA last night and it's about the same distance as Romford to Sutton from where I live, and without traffic, it takes 40 minutes, with traffic an hour.

Every other car in the OC is a Tesla.
My point is that this isn't an "if" it could happen, as more than a "when" will it happen.

I feel kinda bad for her.
Regardless of being right or wrong, I can't imagine having all the intimate details of a toxic relationship just be strewn about for the whole world to see in a media circus.
Not saying she's innocent by any means, she's crazy, but so is Depp.
If anyone has been in a deeply toxic relationship, it's crazy how much your personality changes. After watching some of that ridiculous trial I had to stop. It started to remind me of my personal experiences with bad relationships. I never experienced anything that extreme, but I feel if time went on, it would not have been too far off.

Well it's still JLo. If you aren't much a fan you won't be too impressed. Imo she can be fairly one directional in her movies.
That said, when I watch a movie that has heavy CGI I try and take a step back throughout the movie from all the special effects and evaluate an actors performance.
Ya ok sounds pretentious, but I try to imagine the environment they are in when acting. It's basically nothing but a green box, with someone off to the side reading lines.
If they can give a fairly believable performance I'm impressed, because we see all the special effects, editing, direction and production. The actor has to imagine it, and hope they don't look like a dumbass in post.
65 was alright. Wanted more dinosaurs though lol

Dude I remember seeing the first debate before going on a backpacking trip with my parents.
My parents at the time I considered Republican, but not conservative. When they saw the debate they laughed and made jokes that the dude will never win.
Then when I came closer to the election, they turned around. Thinking he was awesome and the answer to the "government" problem.
Now, they aren't hard-line Trump supporters, but their views have definitely changed towards being a lot more conservative. I've seen their stances change quite a bit since then.
Spaceinv8er 4 months ago • 100%
I read it and watched the video.
The video was of sarcastic tone, but he was totally serious about his support for Trump.
He makes it seem like California is just this lawless place of criminals running around everywhere, because of what he claims of slashed police force budgets and closed prisons.
When he had a deputy get caught with a bunch of fentanyl supplied by the cartel, and his police force had an increased budget of 270 million since 2019.
He's totally one of those "rules for thee, not for me" kind of people.
Riverside sucks anyway.

I'm on the latter part of 30 and I'm in bumble and tinder. I decided to give myself a month on them and if nothing happens I'll remove it. I'm not exactly on the prowl but I feel like I've given myself enough time to "work on myself" since my last relationship. So I'm testing the water. Also all my friends are all hitched or have kids, so there isn't a lot of mutual single friends.
It's either, super model hot bot, or no thanks... There really isn't an in-between. I understand that sounds shallow, but that's been my experience. Then when you finally get matched no one actually makes conversation. Like I'm not going to sit here and try to drag a conversation out of you.
You're right too. The apps are also really only focused on just trying to get you to spend money, not getting you a match.
Tinder for example says I have 20+ "matches" but I can't see them unless I pay. And when I swipe it's not like any of those people are put up front. You only get 20 likes and none of them will be the people that have "matched" with you.
It's also not cheap either. It's like 20 dollars a month.
Bumble is even worse.
It's a stark contrast from how it was several years ago.

I have wet as well. And you shouldn't.
You might be getting some, but you are pushing the majority back into your ear. It's probably why you feel like you must keep cleaning them, because it's never actually getting out. Eventually you'll get a clogged ear, and if you haven't experienced that yet, it fuckin sucks.
Your ear will naturally push the earwax out. Think of your ear as a conveyor belt. When new skin is made it pushes the earwax down the ear canals.
Best thing to do is wash and clean the outside of your ears well everyday. You can use a Q-tip for that. Listen to music at a reasonable level, wear ear protection at concerts, and try to give your ears a break from headphones and earphones periodically.
If it's really bothering you, get some hydrogen peroxide or ear wax remover and put it in your ear for like 10 minutes. Then use a hand bulb with warm water. Don't do this all the time though.
