I don't really think that's fair. I agree with your suggestion that it should be a multiplatform DE rather than just its own distro but I think having polished and design opinionated distros is important. I know a few Mac guys who have become interested in Linux when they heard about ElementaryOS.
I get that a lot of people hate on GNOME too for being annoying to customise and being highly opinionated but I think that's the key to getting the average person interested in Linux. The average person just wants their desktop to look nice out of the box and maybe offer a dark mode. Anything more than that gets too complicated.
Edit: and yeah having access to programs like the MS apps is important but it's not like that has to come before having an appealing desktop

Like 50. I used to have a ridiculous amount of sunglasses I got given as free merch. Nowadays I just have a prescription pair of sunglasses I replace every few years

RetroArch is great though. I set it up for my mum on an rpi with a bunch of preinstalled roms and there's been no issues. The controller worked out of the box and everything runs smoothly.

Can you use the touchbar at all or do you basically just not have any FN keys?

I feel pretty much the same as when off of them but my anxiety isn't nearly as crippling. There are some side effects like a dulling of emotions but to me it's so worth it

It's really fast, has nice vim keybindings and has the potential to be a great open source VSCode alternative.
I don't use it yet since it doesn't have a built in Python debugger but I've been watching it closely. I really want to switch to it someday soon

Same here except a Zillennial. I was born in 97 so I don't really identify with zoomers nor millenials

Totally agree. I'd love to see the NDP take Parliament but it seems unlikely to ever happen with strategic voting... Probably the reason the Liberals keep going back on their promise of reform

The Liberal party of Canada promised electoral reform (in two separate elections!) so they're probably referring to that

That sounds good to me, especially if they go back to Dark Souls style world design. I love Elden Ring but the size of the world made it feel sort of empty at times

Ok but why isn't it smooth 😅? My layers look like that but I kind of just accepted it as I have a cheap printer (Anycubic Kobra Neo)
Edit: do you just need to set a lower layer height?

It's really bad in Ontario. Wait times are regularly hitting ~20 hours in our emergencies and it's near impossible to get a family doctor.
edit: but at least we'll have beer in corner stores next year! 🙃

That'd be nice wouldn't it? I live in Centretown but even it makes me feel like I'm still living in my small hometown. Ottawa's not a huge city but things should be open later, even on Sundays damn it

Both. For a couple years it was definitely all day but through college it was just in the evenings. The mental effects were a lot worse when it was all day but I noticed it still when it was just evenings.

I'd agree weed is the healthier choice but I don't think it's fair to say it doesn't affect the day to day. I used to smoke everyday and it really messed with my short term memory and sleep.

From what I remember, Canada did implement a digital nomad program aimed at tech workers at the start of the Trump presidency. I'm not sure how successful it was though
It feels like there's been tornado warnings non stop this summer.
