We need greater communication, easier to understand bills and political action, and I would imagine it would also help if we had some kind of legitimately progressive innovation in Welsh Government. We've been stagnating for years now, simply 'un-doing' whatever disastrous things the dreaded 'Past governments' did, is no longer enough.

For many, deep in the Valleys of South Wales, poverty is the grim reality of daily life. Utility bills rise, school transport is cut, shops in the high-street close down and inflation bites. Up to 50 jobs could go in Wales as the BBC implements budget cuts, starting in 2025. BBC Wales said cuts will come from 746 staff members, with 25 to 30 editorial and production roles, and 20 jobs in the operations department set to go. A council leader has slammed the Welsh Government funding formula used to calculate how much money the local authorities receive annually, claiming his council has been short-changed by more than £210m in seven years. This was until I discovered a group seeking safety and security for their children in Rhondda Cynon Taff, my own backyard. What I found in this group was a collection of parents fighting tooth and nail, not just for their children, but all those in their community as well. A council is asking for people’s views on the latest and final phase of a new active tavel route along a former railway line. Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) Council has launched a consultation into phase five of the Rhondda Fach Active Travel Route which will be a new walking and cycling route between Maerdy and Stanleytown in the Rhondda Fach Valley. The route will follow the alignment of the former railway line along the valley floor and will include links to local communities, shops, schools and leisure facilities. The route has been split into five phases. Phase one was completed in January, 2024 and phase two was completed in July 2024.

I'll be honest, I'm unsure how these things are related. That being said, I'm all for platform scrutiny, and I'm aware of this controversy.
Substack have since reversed their decision on this and have taken action against a number of Nazi sources, though I would absolutely agree that more could and should be done.
For what it's worth, have you had a look at the deep dark areas of Lemmy lately? Many a Nazi and god knows what else over here too, unfortunately.

Hard yes, even with a small fine for failing to vote (£50-100) - With the caveat that spoiling the ballot/voting none of the above is also an accepted admission.
We need to start taking steps to reverse political apathy asap, this can be one of many.

Unfortunately unsurprising. We currently have the perfect breeding ground for mental instability - Record high costs across the board in housing, groceries, utilities and transport. Record low wages in real terms when factoring in inflation. A government that not only doesn't give a shit about the vast majority of us, but in some cases actively advocates against us.
Anyone would be in a rough position mentally living through this.

The electorate is for sure heading left, if you look into it though, our parties are not. The Labour Party (Clear favourites to win next time) have been gradually sliding right over the last 5 years, adopting more centrist and centre-right policies in an attempt to win over right-wing voters.
Many on the left in the UK are incredibly unhappy, with good reason. The leader of Labour described his current strategy as a “under-new-management, eliminate-the-left” approach.
That's not to say that things wouldn't be better, of course, just not ideal for many left-wing voters out there looking for progressive change.
