Same. Its so nice for consistency. I also keep a basic knife sharpener in my cooking bag.

Not the review I was hoping for. I loved the original and was getting excited about this one being released.

Buy a proper instant read meat thermometer and learn about carryover heat. Seriously, just cooking meat to where it needs to be and no more makes such a difference when cooking.
Along with that, learning when things need to be cooked to higher temps for structural reasons.
Finally, learning how to get good browning or crust formation. Its all prep and heat control but damn a steak with a good crust is life changing.

Its got some older fiberglass in the attic but it needs to be replaced as well since it is mildly compacted. Trees are in the plan too but that is waiting on the soil to recover a bit and the temps to drop off. Solar is a long term goal for cost and backup power but that may be a next house thing depending on how long we stay here.

I know where the losses are, the house and windows are from 1980 and there is a sunroom on the house that are just huge heat sinks. We are just waiting on funds to correct that stuff. We had some awesome shade trees but they were Ash trees and fell victim to beetles and disease so we had to have them removed so they didn't fall on the house.
We added a radiant barrier when the roof was redone in 2016. The ceiling penetrations were all sealed and all the can lights were replaced with sealed LED fixtures.
The ac is a newer variable speed high efficiency one with new ducting that was installed 3 years ago and other than needing a minor room rebalance made a big different in our electric bill.

Between 14.7 and 15.4c / kwh. Gexa in Texas. My last bill was $285. We have a gas stove, water heater, furnace, and dryer. Our gas bill is about $50/mo. The lowest our electricity goes is about $90 in the winter.

I have been with my wife since 2009 and I have still never been able to convince her to learn how to a drive manual transmission.

Drive failure in the 00s was really common. I lost 2 or 3 separate drives from different mfg over the course of a couple years. Newer drives are better but even in modern nas setups, I planned on losing at least 1 drive per year on a 4 drive nas even fresh out of the box.
Always keep data your care about in at least 3 places and in at least 2 different mediums with one preferably offsite. I like to have one drive in use, one backup that sync's daily, and one that I keep in cold storage unplugged. Then swap the sync drve and cold storage drive every so often.

Part of it is because our congressional districts are drawn like a bowl of spaghetti. In statewide elections it matters less but congressional districs were specifically drawn to pack and crack votes here.

It would be funnier if there wasn't a sizeable percentage of people who support the cheetoh. There is still a real chance of that demented racist pos winning come november.

I picked up a 5 v a couple months back because nothing else fit in that niche. Its a damn good phone. Only thing missing for me is a removable battery. I'd like a slightly smaller size overally but compared to everything else in the market, its small already.

Thanks to cognitive dissonance they are doing fine.
My 7 month son got croup and has been in an out of the ER twice this week. Its currently midnight and is getting another nebulizer dose before we get moved to a room. Hes doing better but its been rough. We are gonna be here at least another day for observation this time which is way better than getting sent home again to see how he does. Here's hoping he kicks its ass and gets over this quick. It sucks seeing my little guy sick like this. Edit: he's doing a lot better today. They were doing the nebulizer every two hours and its been almost 7 without it now. Fingers crossed we are over the hump. Thanks for the support y'all.

Basically the only option I have found for a non-connected/smart/spyware tv in the last few months are commercial displays. They must price in the ad revenue to the consumer stuff because the price of those commercial displays is ~4x.

No doubt. For me, the pixel is a non-starter due to lack of sd card slot and lack of headphone jack. They used to not be ip rated too which is a big deal for me but I think the newer ones are.

Correct. I have already reached out to my former company and I have a stack of paperwork coming to "correct the oversight" it helps that the company didn't know that the patent application had been filed by the client.

Yeah, I was in that storm. We were without power for 3 days. Fortunately it was not over 100f that during that stretch but It would have been so much worse if it had been. I personally know people who were without power for almost 2 weeks after it came through. Centerpoint was negligent in maintinging their equipment, right of ways, and getting their crews where they should have been.

Frankly, I am amazed it has not already happened in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, or Austin. The power grid here in Texas is a disaster and the weather conditions are unforgiving. At least in the desert you can do evaporative cooling. That doesn't work where its hot and humid.

Happy Father's day y'all. To celebrate I am doing a 9ish lb boston butt on my vision smoker with hickory chips and oak charcoal. Its been on for about 4 hours so far. I have some wings waiting on this lovely hunk of flavor to get closer to done so I can pull it and wrap it before getting the chicken on.
Need for speed underground 2 is to thank for my intro to QotSA, great track and good driving song.
I am not sure who the op was but its an epic picture.
25.5" scale neck, poplar body, coil tapping pickups, knockoff floyd from guitar fetish. The body was dyed using angelus leather dies (recommended by BigDGuitars on yt) it was a good first project to learn on and a lot of fun to make. Picture was taken before I installed the control knobs but it really pops in the sun. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/9bbc687a-84f9-4a18-bc92-e6cebd53b593.jpeg)

I am swapping a seadoo rotax 255hp motor into a kawasaki stx hull and I needed a way to set the axial, angular, and radial position of the thru hull seal so I printed up some guides to hold the tube on the driveshaft while I fiberglassed it in.
