Trying to migrate my video game tracker database to Obsidian, can't quite figure out how to replicate this Notion button using Meta Bind.

Hello folks! Due to some of the serious AI pushes Notion has been doing recently, I have been trying to seriously migrate my video game tracker database over to work on Obsidian. I have most of the features from my Notion one ported over, but I can't for the life of my figure out how to use the Meta Binds plugin to replicate this particular button from my Notion database entries. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/bb158769-a2f3-45fd-93d9-e63d2fdee9da.gif) I know Meta Bind can be pretty technical, but I'm curious if anyone has any idea how I can replicate this functionality within Obsidian. My goal is essentially to: 1. Be able to press the button, adding the current date to a property of the document I have labeled "last". 2. Add a bullet point with today's date below the button, creating a list of dates that I pressed the button as I press it. Thanks for reading my post! Any help is appreciated! I've been pouring over the Meta Bind docs to try and figure this out but so far I've had no luck.

A lot of us have Humble Choice, which is a subscription service that gives you six games for Steam a month. When some of the games end up being ones we already have, we come here to give away the extra copies to people here on Lemmy! I myself have over 600 keys for games over the years that I am either already had or never intend on playing, so I've got tons to give away.

There's also times where I buy actual Humble Bundles too that have duplicate keys as well. Just way too many keys and I don't feel like going through the hassle of reselling them so instead I am paying it forward to people who want them!

Can anyone suggest some good co-op games for two people?

Hello all! My buddy and I finally finished up Baldur's Gate 3 this week and we are not left with a giant co-op game shaped whole in our hearts. It was such an incredible experience and it was truly even more fun running through it together. We are excited to hop into another game, but we have no idea what to play. We've played a lot, and some games we've finished or tried recently included: - Borderlands 1, 2, and 3 - Minecraft, Terraria, Vintage Story - Raft, 7 Days to Die - A Way Out, It Takes Two I'm posting here today to ask if any of you have some suggestions for co-op games we could check out! I've Googled for suggestions to no end and 90% of what's there is games we've already played. If anyone has any recommendations for us they would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! ~ Hyrulian **Thanks for all the great suggestions everyone!! I'm going to compile a list and check them all out one by one!**

(COMPLETE) [Steam] Disco Elysium: The Final Cut

Hey folks, it's been a while! I'm here today with a giveaway for a key to one of my favorite games ever made, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut. I am so excited to share this amazing game with whoever wins this giveaway! Be warned however, there are a few things you might want to consider before entering: - This game features some very intense content that some people might find disturbing or at the very least depressing. It also has some humor and imagery that some may find offensive. - There is some serious controversy surrounding the creation of this game and things that happened afterwards that lead to multiple followup projects being canceled and a very messy split with the original concept's creator and the company behind the game. Read more about this [here](https://www.thegamer.com/disco-elysium-writers-zaum-death-threats-abuse-fired/) if this is something that may concern you and sway if you want to play the game. With that stuff out of the way, what is Disco Elysium? According to the Steam Page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/632470/Disco_Elysium__The_Final_Cut/ >A groundbreaking role playing game. You’re a detective with a unique skill system at your disposal and a whole city to carve your path across. Interrogate unforgettable characters, crack murders or take bribes. Become a hero or an absolute disaster of a human being. Honestly in my opinion though, this doesn't even begin to describe the chaotic intrigue that this game is. I highly recommend this one if you played Baldur's Gate 3 and want to play something similar, albeit a lot different in themes and gameplay. This is also quite a bit shorter. **Anyway, so how do you enter? All you have to do is:** - Comment telling me what games you've been playing recently or what other - Wait till Friday, June 28th at 10am CST to see if you won! A random comment selector tool will decide if you win. If you do I'll comment on your reply to this post telling you to check your DMs where you will find the key to the game! - (Optional) Share this post with a friend or fellow lemming to let them get a change to try and win this gem. Thanks for reading the post and thanks for entering the giveaway! Good luck folks! If you have any spare Steam keys lying around you want to get rid of, this is a great place to do so. DM me if you have any questions! ~ Hyrulian **Unfortunately the first two people I tried to send the key to did not respond to my message. I'll be trying some other folks in the coming days! Thanks!**

I agree with you 100%. Especially in the early game it can be quite hard to figure out what to do next until you learn how the game does hints and explanations. It's very rewarding when you do figure it out though, and the dopamine hit when you have the many "eureka" moments in the game is unmatched in my opinion.

I also think that the obtuseness didn't bother me as much because I found the original legend of Zelda to be quite obtuse as well. That being said I also agree you should keep a pen and paper nearby. I actually made a digital journal while I was playing the game and it turned out to be really fun to look back on! Such a unique experience!

I know people are going to come for me for this one, but definitely Notion. I know I don't own my data and what not, really would love to switch to Obsidian at some point, but I have trouble with markdown and I really prefer "What you see is what you get" editors. I have Notion databases for keeping track of physical video games I own, I write all of my notes for D&D campaigns in there, I have a reminders and to-do page. It's slow, it's not very privacy focused, but it's a dead simple and very feature packed tool to organize virtually anything.

Wanted to bring attention to the 1.0 release of this excellent Moonlight PC Streaming App that just dropped today!! github.com

Thanks to GitHub user zoeyjodon for dropping this incredible 3ds fork for the Moonlight PC game streaming client. You can run this software on any hacked 3ds (though a new 3ds is recommended) to stream PC games from any PC to your 3ds. Although it's not super useful for most games since the 3ds has such a pitiful screen, this is still a really cool piece of homebrew and I imagine running retro games from later than the n64 era could be really sweet. Attached is a picture of me running Super Mario Sunshine through Dolphin on my PC being streamed. There is shockingly a very low level of latency at play here. Just wanted to shout out this cool project. Head to the GitHub page if you want to check it out!

Spider-Man 2, it's was the cookie cutter definition of a safe sequel. More of the first game, but marginally bigger and better. Combat felt improved, web wings made traversal more fun, story was taken up a notch (though I still think I prefer the first games overall). I kinda just felt like my time with the game was a little too short for seventy dollars. Honestly just another couple side quest lines would have been enough to make it reach the playtime that I would have expected. I did really enjoy it. It is a better game than the first one. 16hrs is just a little too short for this kind of game I think. I am very hopeful for the DLC and I'm really happy with where they took the story. I need to go back and complete the collectathon stuff, but I have seen some of the Spider Shots you get for them and I'm not super interested really. Most seven out of ten game I have finished this year.

I recreated Pallet Town from Pokemon out of 3D Voxels in the game Brickadia. youtu.be

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/2295545 > Back in May of 2022, I was bored so I decided to boot up Brickadia and create some pixel art of the map of Pallet Town. It took me a few minutes to find the map of the town online, load it up in a pixel art software, and recreate the color pallet (pun intended) in Brickadia. Over the next hour I proceeded to place each of the blocks down to perfectly match the pixel art in the original games. After finishing that I was thinking about how it would be neat to make the pixel art 3D. > > I spent the next four hours systematically making 3D voxel models in Brickadia of all of the objects in the town, filling out the town as I went. I had finished everything except the patch of tall grass and Professor Oak's Lab before having to close the game to go to work. I would then forget about the entire project until today, July 28th 2023, when I accidentally stumbled across the files on my PC. > > I spent only another few hours making Oak's Lab and the tall grass models, placing them in the scene and finishing the town. I can't believe I forgot about the project!! It was a lot of fun and really not too bad for only taking about six hours or so. The hardest part was definitely the water area, because I had to decide how to make the 2D texture of the rock 3D while maintaining the pattern on all sides to keep it looking seamless. I think the finished version looks pretty acceptable, but there where some ugly versions in there at one point. > > That's about it. Thanks for listening to my story about my fun little day project.

[Midjourney] It lurks in the sewers.

I'm currently running a sci-fi D&D campaign, and I needed an image to represent the spooky spider boss crawling around in the sewers under the city. **Generated with Midjourney using the following prompt:** an image of a spider in the shadows, in the style of sci-fi sewers, richly detailed genre paintings, airbrushing, neogeo, space art, blacks, handsome --ar 16:9 If you happen to be a person who plays D&D with me who stumbled upon this post, please ignore. There is no giant spider in the sewers. Don't worry about it.

Community Icon & Banner Vote - Reply with your images!!

Hello folks! Mod team here! (Just me right now lol.) I thought it would be fun for the community to be able to pick what icon and banner we use to decorate our page. In this thread, we are going to vote on the images you think should represent us. For the original icon and banner images I just went back through my Midjourney generation history and picked a few cool looking images, so I figure they are overdue for being replaced anyway. I'm sure you folks have far better ideas and cooler images that we could be using instead. Here's how to we will run the vote: - The most upvoted reply with a proposed icon image will be set to the community's icon. - The most upvoted reply with a proposed banner image will be set to the community's banner. - I will periodically be checking back on this post and updating the images, so feel free to enter at any time. Whatever image has the highest votes at the time I check will replace the current image. Some things to keep in mind: - NSFW images are not allowed for the icon or banner. - Please only submit a maximum of one icon and one banner at a time. If you want to submit a new icon or banner, please delete your old reply and make a new one. - If you want to submit images for both the icon and the banner, please create separate replies. Replies with more than one image WILL NOT be considered. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns in regards to how we are operating this vote. Thanks for visiting the community!!

(CLOSED) [Steam VR] Into the Radius - Prepare to get spooked!!

Hey there folks! Time for another giveaway!! This week I'm giving out a copy of: **[Into the Radius VR](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1012790/Into_the_Radius_VR/)** If you haven't played it before, Into the Radius is a virtual reality survival game *HEAVILY* inspired by the STALKER series. The general idea is, you enter the nuclear reaction zone and you have to complete quests and collect resources while surviving the horrific anomalies that live in the area. I personally find this game to be really spooky and stressful, so keep that in mind when entering. That being said, I love the style and the mechanics! There's even a whole system where you have to physically clean and maintain your weapons or they could jam in the moments you need them the most! **Here's the steps you have to follow to enter this giveaway:** - You *MUST* have a VR Headset compatible with Steam VR. I couldn't find a reliable resource online listing all compatible models so I highly recommend you verify that your headset works before entering. - Reply to this post, sharing what your current favorite VR game is. - Wait until Friday, July 14th at around 10am CST. I'm extending this giveaway out for the whole week to allow as many VR gamers to get the chance to enter as possible. **Update: Extending the giveaway out for now. I'll try again next Friday instead! Share with your friends that have VR!!** Thanks for entering the giveaway! Remember to follow the steps to enter the giveaway so you don't end up with a key for a game you can't even enjoy. Shout out to everyone who has participated in the giveaways on this community so far! **Edit: Two weeks passed and nobody entered so I'm closing the giveaway. I'll try again later!!**

Now this is just getting ridiculous. They are infiltrating our grocery stores!!!

We need to stop these heinous "g*mers" from spreading their satanic cult practices in our cities. I was just trying to buy great American frozen pizza for my family when I ran across this demonic figure in the frozen isle!! What are we doing about this??!!

What reason could Zuckerberg and Meta possibly have for wanting to create a federated social media site?

I'm just curious what you folks think. The whole idea of the Fediverse seems to go against everything Meta has stops for with their existing platforms (Facebook and Instagram). What are they after? Are they going to try and infiltrate it so they can get people's data and content? Are they trying to monetize it? It just doesn't add up. I feel like most people on the Fediverse already would agree that we don't want Meta's platforms to access our content. Please excuse my ignorance if it doesn't work like I think it does. I'm relatively new to the Fediverse myself.

    [Midjourney] Master Chief

I've been experimenting with single word prompts recently and specifically the name of video games have created rather interesting results. Here is a Midjourney generation with the following prompt: **Halo** Here's a good version for profile pictures too in case anyone is interested: ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/835a71ec-0a8c-43bf-aa83-c3c2fe4c26bd.png)

A quick note about Lemmy.world slowness and it's effect on our giveaways.

I've noticed Lemmy.world is having significant struggle with posting and loading content in the last few days. This is likely due to the influx of users after "that one other platform" did the bad thing. *wink wink* For the time being, I'd encourage anyone running giveaways to extend their open for entries window by a little bit to allow more folks to enter. I had a hard enough time as is trying to reply to the winners of a few of my giveaways, so I'd imagine we will have people who want to enter and participate that may run into the same issue. Thanks for considering!! I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for participating in the community thus far, especially those who have hosted giveaways. Keep Lemmy wholesome folks!! Feel free to reply to this post, (If you can...) if you have any questions about the rules of our community or any suggestions on how to make it better. Thanks! -- Mod Team (Just me as of right now lol)

[Midjourney] What Eldritch Horrors await Mario?

I was originally trying to generate a goofy image of Mario in the style of Rick & Morty when I accidentally created this neat looking image of Mario in a spooky place. Here is the prompt for Midjourney: **an image of super Mario, in the style of Rick and Morty, hand drawn, reds, cool, sci-fi --ar 16:9** I thought it was going to be funny, but this is WAY cooler. Please note, I did a 2x zoom out on the original image to create this. Here is an upscale of the original image: ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/77a41e7c-e45f-497e-a0f1-0b1d73c70873.png)

Generated with Midjourney using the prompt: "overarching portrait of a galaxy, in the style of sci-fi landscapes, richly detailed genre paintings, airbrushing, neogeo, space art, vibrant colors, beautiful" A few months ago I was actually trying to get images of Sci-fi landscapes, but by a happy accident Midjourney generated two images of people. This is the other images it generated from that prompt (You'll notice another is the community banner!): ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/724a1e58-6264-42c0-8055-906610fdec8e.webp)

AI Art & Image Generation - Lemmy.world (A community to post art and images created by AI) lemmy.world

I've had an obsession and fascination with AI art since Craiyon first released as Dall E Mini. Upon jumping ship to Lemmy, I thought it would be great to form a community to casually share some images I made with AI. Recently I've mostly been using Midjourney and Stable Diffusion. Come check the community out. Myself and a few others have posted some images already.
