Loan company hasn't reported to credit bureaus in 9 months

tl;dr - They haven't reported updated information since last year. How do I get them to do so, or how can I otherwise correct the information on my credit report? Longer version: Got a personal loan a few years ago through Lending Point. Earlier this year, I noticed that the last time they reported any updated information to the credit bureaus was December of last year. I paid the thing off back this past May, and had hoped that would trigger them to update it within a month or two, But they didn't, and as far as anyone(such as a new lender) is concerned, I still have an open personal loan that I owe a bunch of money on. Do I have to call these people and complain? Should I dispute the inaccurate information on my credit report? I spent quite a few years banging away at that stupid fucking thing, eliminating every negative account/collections/etc. Don't want to dispute that information just to find out that it's going to somehow backfire on me. As far as it stands now, I have no negative anything whatsoever on my report, and every single account on there is in good standing with a 100% perfect payment history. Problem is, full-time job pays so little that for the last few years(basically since the pandemic started) I've been stuck more and more using credit cards and Affirm/After pay loans for "luxuries" such as... food, and having electricity, and clean clothes. You know, non-essentials. Using up more than half my (tiny) monthly income just to pay the minimums on the cards and the monthly Affirm payments at this point. Could use a new personal loan to consolidate all of that down to a single payment, but the fact that my cards are all maxed out is keeping my score down, making it difficult. And having it look like I already have an active personal loan when I don't, sure as shit isn't helping my case when trying to get a new one. Being able to consolidate would set me back into a position to where I have enough cash throughout the month to not have to rely on the cards to pay for basic shit in the first place.

As someone who has "won" the games (that aren't actually games) and claimed the prizes a bunch of times, I'd advise you just ignore them. The fish/farm/etc games, and the popups that claim free items, anything else. Close them, and just buy whatever you were going to buy. Unless you have a lot, I mean a LOT of people that are willing to sign up for temu as a first time user, using you as the referral, the only way to complete those so-called games is to spend around $800+ to earn your way to conspiring the game and claiming the free prizes. Prizes that if you pay attention, you could simply bought outright for somewhere in the range of $5-20.

And the stuff with the spinning wheels and whatnot, claiming this or that percentage discount, you'll get a cheap item for free(something that you could have bought for $3-4 max), but only by adding it to an order with a predetermined number of other items, which have had their prices dynamically increased, and will actually cost you more than if you had simply purchased all of the same items but by searching them up and just adding them to your cart normally. If you add some items to your wishlist, you'll start to see those items being offered to you in these supposed deals and discounts. You will also notice that if that item was $5 when you added it to your wishlist, the "deal" page might be showing it to you with a crossed out $50 price, and a new amazing discount price of let's say $9(I call this the J. C. Penny method). I tend to keep a large wishlist, with items that sit there for months while I decide if I'll get around to buying them or not, so this kind of fuckery with the prices sticks out to me a lot.

This all exactly the same for when they had the cash back deal. Place an order, and they credit your account with, well credit, that you can spend on more stuff. The more you spend in the order, the higher the percentage of cash back. But as before, the prices of the items you buy to earn that cash back are getting fucked around with dynamically, and increased as you shop. Not only that, but they change the way that you received the cash back. It used to be that after the order shipped, you go to a certain page and cash out your earned credit, and it is then available for use. Then they started placing limits on how much you could cash out per day. And then the last time I had used it, you instead only got a few cents per day, and you had to keep opening the app every single day and manually claiming those few cents. And if you forgot one day, you just lose that credit entirely.

Ask of this is to say, I absolutely promise anyone reading this, the games, deals, discounts, or whatever else they are promising you on temu, are absolutely, in no uncertain terms, not worth your time (even if you believe your time to hold no value), and will cost you more money than if you had simply purchased the items normally through just searching for what you want and adding it to your cart. Back when temu was still pissing away ass-loads of money to get people onto their platform, you could legitimately get free and/or heavily discounted items, as well as decent amount of cash back/credit. But that's is no longer the case. They got the massive number of users they wanted, now they are looking to actually make money from them.

The only reason I but anything on temu at all, where I would have bought it on AliExpress previously, is that temu will usually get the items to me between 1 and 2 weeks, while AE still often takes several weeks before the seller even THINKS about shipping the order, and then often an additional 3-4 weeks minimum for it to actually arrive. I had some stuff that I needed a bunch of, and they only had a few in stock on temu. So I ordered them all, then ordered more on AE right after. The temu ones came in 6 days. The AE ones took 2 and a half months. And before anyone asks, the identical item on Amazon was more than triple the price. Most of this stuff tends to be.

Republicans don't want this, because while they like to claim "blah blah spending this, spending that", it's not actually about reducing spending, it's about punishing the poor(and a wide range of minorities, obviously). So the fact that giving MORE people access to healthcare would cost much LESS money in the end, means fuck all to them. Their only goal is maximizing the suffering of anyone who ain't them, and convincing their base that someone else is the cause of all of their troubles.

Democrats meanwhile, have no interest in doing this either, since most of them aren't even remotely progressives(whether they pretend to be or not), and like the Republicans, it doesn't do much to line their pockets. As long as they can keep everyone just fucked over enough, while pretending to support progressive policies, the can keep pointing at the Republicans as boogeymen, saying "look, see what the right wants to keep from you? Better vote for us, or you'll get trump again. ThIs iS THe mOSt imPOrTAnt elEcTIon oF yOUr lIfe." But as soon as you vote them in, where does all of that support for those progressive policies go? POOF Never to be spoken of again, until next election, because they didn't ever really support such policies in the first place.

So sure, I'm not going to go so far as to say that both sides are the same. Because clearly one side at least isn't trying to bring back literal Nazis. But make no mistake, even if you have to vote Democrat to desperately keep MAGA out of power, the Democrats are not your friend. Democrats are not leftists. The are center right, at best. It's just the Republicans have completely lost the plot, and ran so far to the right, that everyone else looks to be left by comparison.

Few months ago I switched to an iPhone 15 Pro Max after being on Android for years. I think I briefly tried an iPhone 6s back in the day? For maybe a month and gave up. I only switched because I happened to be able to get the phone without having to pay anything down, and the one good thing I've always heard about iPhone is the camera. Going to be honest, I despise iOS as much as I remember. Navigating around is a nightmare. The number of times I try to use the android back gesture, only for nothing to happen, is in the dozens of times per day. The fact that there is no dedicated back button or gesture, unless a specific app graciously decides you get to have one(in the most inconvenient location possible), is obscene. Back on Android, not only do I get said feature, I can tweak and customize it to my liking. And for that matter, I can do the same to pretty much the entire UI. The nearly non-customizable UI on iOS is infuriating. The fact that I can't seem to predict which volume is about to be adjusted when I hit the volume buttons is even more infuriating. As is the phone's insistence on not switching audio devices when it should. Or refusing to connect to Bluetooth headphones or other devices automatically, constantly forcing me to going into the settings and do it manually. And just countless other things I absolutely hate about this thing. The only thing I have found to be an improvement is the battery life, which after a full day is still at 90% when I am ready to go to bed. But that's only because I just don't touch the phone anymore. I check an email or two during the day, and the phone otherwise just sits in my pocket untouched. Switching to an iPhone is probably the single biggest technology-related mistake I've made in years. And that's coming from someone who is running Arch as the only OS on my gaming laptop, and owns multiple VR headset and AR/XR glasses.

I'm glad other people seem to like their iPhones, but I absolutely despise this thing, and oh my god am I desperate to get the hell back onto Android at the first opportunity. I got this through Boost Infinite, so I'm hoping that when it's time, they'll let me "upgrade" to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Which is the phone I wanted to begin with, but they were conveniently only advertising the iPhone at the time, so I didn't know they had other phones.

Moral of the the story is, if you tend to do any customization at all when you get a new Android phone, you're probably going to hate iPhone. If you tend to just log in your email account and use the phone as it comes, you might fare better. In either case, do what you have to, to get your hands on a borrowed iPhone and spend some time with it before even considering making the switch.

Yes. Yes it is. I had a single Windows install that was my main system. I eventually decided to semi-switch to Linux, and passed that SSD through to a VM, along with the GPU and half of my USB ports in order to continue running that Windows install for gaming and Adobe stuff. You just have to keep messing around with the config of the VM, and look up info about getting your UUID from Windows to add to your VM config, so your Windows license/activation will keep working as is. There are guides and info for all of this if you Google around. Don't remember exactly where I found those guides, as I ran that setup for about year and then switched that Windows install back to bare metal, and it has been about another year since then. I do remember that I got the same boot issues as you when switching back and forth between bare metal and VM, and I had to run the Windows boot repair tools to get everything working. Trying looking into that.

My only real problem is that I sorely, SORELY, miss the editing features I had in Google photos. selfhost
Self hosted(Docker hopefully) solutions of personal inventory tracking?

My new overnight job unfortunately comes with a mandatory 1-hour lunch break (sitting destroys my back, and I'd also rather be earning money if I have to be there anyway), so I end up looking at random shit on my phone. I forget where I saw it, but I recently got reminded of those apps that let you completely catalog your wardrobe, so you can browse your clothing easily in the app, match things up the way you want, plan what to wear with what, you get the idea. And that got me thinking, in the last few years, I've gone from a person with what I thought was a lot of tshirts and hats, at like 40 shirts and 15-20 hats, to someone with... well, what appears to be a collection of around 200+ tshirts, 30 or so hoodies, and maybe 70-80 hats, of various colors, styles, graphics, etc. Not to mention a sizable collection of sunglasses, jewelry, etc. In the last week or so, I completely reorganized how everything is hung or stored in my closet. And I realized that the way I have stuff now, it's well suited to easily add a numbering system, so if I were to add everything into such an app as I mentioned above, I could easily browse everything I have, and once I've decided I need something in particular, I'd know exactly which hanger to find it on or which spot to find that hat that I want, and be able to find it and grab it in a few seconds. So I'm wondering, is there a self hosted version of those wardrobe apps? Preferably a docker(I run Unraid and do everything via docker containers there), and hopefully something that also has an available Android app. But beyond that, I'm wondering if there are similar options for other stuff. I have probably a couple hundred unpainted figures/minis/whatever-wanna-call-them, and would love to have a way to catalog/inventory them, with the ability to give them labels, images, tags, etc, so it's easy to browse what I have through an app, rather than trying to randomly dig through a bunch a drawers, unwrapping and rewrapping stuff trying to figure out what it is. I've seen apps to do exactly that kind of cataloging of paints specifically, but not really anything for keeping an inventory of actual figures. And those are only Android apps, not really anything I can add to my Docker setup. Now that I'm in the new job, I'm working on rearranging my living space so I have room to setup my art desk, and can start painting some of these things again. Would be really helpful to have everything digitized so I can easily browse what I have, plan out projects, find the actual physical item in my collection once I need it, etc. Are there dedicated self hosted solutions out there for either of those things? Or a single more general solution that can work for both? I'd rather have dedicated setups for each one, especially in the case of clothing, but I'd consider whatever's available, if there even is anything available. Or am I stuck with whatever existing Android apps I can find? Anybody else already doing any kind of inventorying and tracking off their own personal items, and have thoughts?

Yo, what was your first computer? How old were you, where and how did you get it, what did you do with it, etc.

TL;DR It was an old Wang system, 286 processor(I think, anyway), with no hard drive, a 5.25" floppy drive, and a lovely green monochrome monitor. I didn't have it long enough to reach the point where I could have identified the actual hardware/specs. Back in 1993, I was 10, and the internet really wasn't a thing yet(yeah, yeah, I know. But for most of us, the internet didn't exist until the mid-late 90's). You'd probably have difficulty even finding someone in the neighborhood who could tell you what a computer was, nevermind having used one. I was out running around the city, as you used to be able to do at 10 years old, when I passed by some local business/office/who knows I was 10. Big pile of trash out front, waiting to be picked up. When you're a kid, and you're poor, you go picking. Trash picking, I mean. You can get all sorts of cool shit, especially from the wealthier neighborhoods. Maybe it's different nowadays, but back in the day, people would toss out perfectly good toys, bikes, electronics, furniture, and as they became more commom, videogames, computers, etc. A ton of the shit I owned as a kid is stuff I picked straight out of the trash. Even after that, I picked trash for years. Resold a metric FUCKTON of stuff that other(presumably wealthier) people deemed to be garbage. Back to this business/office/free stuff location, I obviously start eyeing what's in the big pile out front of this place. Among the stuff, I see a big, beige, metal box, a weird looking TV, and something with a big coiled wire hanging off of it. Now, it's not like there weren't computers in movies/TV at that point, and I had just read Jurassic park the same year, so I did recognize, vaguely, what it was. So I start looking at it, poking around, It had a name on it. "Wang". Don't know what that means, but I'm 10; that's hilarious. I decide I'm taking it. Tried to pick it up, and yeah, that shit is heavy. Nevermind the TV thing, and the keyboard. So as you do, I look around for a stary shopping cart, and sure enough, there's never one far away. Grab the cart and start lifting my haul into it, when someone comes out of the business/office/treasure-hoard, and yells "HEY!" Thought I was about to be in trouble, but instead, this guys walks over to me and says "you're gonna need this." Handed me a bundle of wires, and a square envelope, and just went back inside. So I toss that in the cart, and start pushing. And push I did. A shopping cart full of early 90's computer hardware, pushed by a 10 year-old, down the street, on and off of curb, up and down hills, from the other end of the city, is hard work. But eventually, I got home with it. Not to worry though, I only lived on the 3rd floor of a three-story building. So I get home, and I start unloading my haul, one piece at a time, and start dragging it up the stairs. Thankfully no one was home, so I could bring everything into my room without anyone complaing about what I'm doing. That was also one of the only times I actually had a bedroom, so that worked out. Once I get it in there, I put the big metal box on the floor in the corner of my room, I take my monitor and decide that I'm pretty sure it's supposed to sit on top, so I put that there. The keyboard was next. After I untagled that cursed coiled cable, I obviously checked the back of the monitor, looking for where I need to plug the keyboard in. Figured out that no, it gets plugged into the big metal box. What next? Oh, right, that bundle of wires the guy gave me. It tuned out to be a couple of power cables, and a (what I now would assume) was a VGA cable. So I get to work plugging all of that in, and when it comes to the VGA cable, that's when I realize that oh, everything plugs into the metal box, that seems important. That must be the part that is a "computer." So what the hell is the TV thing? Took a minute, but I eventually remembered my NES, and realized that oh yeah, the box is where everything happens, and the screen is just where you see it. Again, I was 10, and all of this technology was still new to the average person. Give me a break here. And last up was that square envelope. Would you believe it had a black plastic thing inside? It's really *floppy*. Weird. What the fuck is this thing? It has a white sticker on it, and some illegible scribbles. Nintendo to the rescue again. This black plastic thing sure does look like it would fit into the slot on the front of the metal box. Oh shit, it did! Now I just have to turn this thing on. How the fuck do you turn this thing on? Spent a while on that one, flipping the obvious big red power switch in the back. Took a while before I figured out there was a second power button on the front. *TWO* power switches?! What is this nonsense? Whatever. It's on now. I sat and watched as bright green text started popping up on the screen. Various numbers, and phrases that I'd never heard in my life. Clearly, this stuff could only be understood some secret government agent, or that one kid I read about Jurassic Park, who was obviously like, a genius hacker or something. The slot where I shoved that floppy plastic square sure is noisy. What the hell is it doing, anyway? It loads in just like my Nintendo games, maybe it's a game?! Maybe a game is about to start. It sure was, friends. Maybe the greatest game ever made. We called it... DOS. Man, did I love that game, DOS. I spent the several hours, typing random shit on the keyboard, as the command prompt did absolutely nothing of interest, since I had no idea what I was doing. But after those couple of hours of typing swears and random nonsense, I finally started to get bored, what with all of the nothing that was happening. And for whatever reason, I thought maybe someone could help me. Or, why not the computer itself? Maybe *it* will help me. So I typed the work "help", I hit the enter key, and sure enough, *something finally happened*. Holy shit, it's doing something. It's telling me how to DO stuff. And so, before this novel goes on even longer, yeah. I found the help menu, and spent many more hours needlessly using very basic commands to create, copy, move, rename, and delete empty files and folders. Truly, I was now an elite haxxor man. Over the next couple of years, I pulled many systems and parts out of various trash piles, and cobbled together different systems. Many, many different 386 and 486 systems. Until finally, when I was 15, I managed to get my hands on an obscenely slow, but absolute magic at the time, dialup modem, and a pile of "free hours" of AOL. And they all lived happily ever after... Until social media was invented. The end. If people like/want to read/discuss such poorly written nonsense, maybe I'll write up some nonsense about other technology-based shenanigans from over the years. And if people would rather make fun of my poor writing skills; fair.

TVDB metadata pulled by Jellyfin is different from the data pulled by sonarr, filebot, plex, or the tvdb website itself.

Sonarr, filebot, Plex (all pulling from tvdb), and the tvdb website itself, are all in agreement as to the episode number and title of some episodes in trying to add to my library. Jellyfin, also pulling from tvdb, insists on completely different information, in spite of the fact that it's getting the series ID correct, so supposedly pulling from the same data as everyone else. Any idea what gives? Can I fix this? I'm starting to vaguely remember that this might have been the singular issue that originally got me to abandon jellyfin and try Plex back when I was first testing out my options a few years ago. edit for more information: I was adding the recent 3-episode OVA of Reincarnated as a Slime. The TVDB page is [https://thetvdb.com/series/that-time-i-got-reincarnated-as-a-slime/seasons/official/0](https://thetvdb.com/series/that-time-i-got-reincarnated-as-a-slime/seasons/official/0) They are episodes S00E10, S00E11, and S00E12. You'll need to be logged in and have your default language set to English, or it will default to showing the titles in Japanese. My files are named using Filebot(using the same naming convention of the other several thousands of files in my library) as: - That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime - S00E10 - Visions of Coleus To Coleus.mkv - That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime - S00E11 - Visions of Coleus Great Phantom Thief Satoru.mkv - That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime - S00E12 - Visions of Coleus Purple and Roses.mkv The only change made from the information on TVDB, is removing a colon from the titles. Jellfin decides that: - the file for part one(E10) is actually titled as "Special - Coleus' Dream, part 2" - the file for part two(E11) is actually titled as "Special - Coleus' Dream, part 3" - and it decides that the file for part three(E12) actually does not exist on TVDB and has not match, and so uses the full file name as the title. I have no idea where it's pulling those titles from, or why it refuses to match them to the TVDB info. TVDB is the ONLY metadata provider I have set anywhere in Jellyfin, unless it's not an option. And yeah, I have manually matched the show and selected the show ID linked above, even though it gets detected correctly automatically, regardless. I have also tried refreshing the metadata. Repeatedly. All of the other episodes, using the exact same filename convention, all match perfectly fine and get the correct titles, thumbnails, etc. Even so, I still moved the entire series out of my library and refreshed the library, doublechecked the filenames, and added the entire series back into my library. Changed nothing. And yeah, I mean, I COULD manually edit the metadata on these three episodes. My concern is that I have many thousands of episodes in my library. Manually viewing, confirming, and editing each and every one is not an acceptable solution.

Need some (kinda dirty joke) names for my mead. Any ideas?

Designing some custom labels for when I start bottling before Christmas, so I finally have to get around to coming up with names. The cherry has had its name since before I even started it, as well as a tagline and description. So cherry is set. Need to come up with something along the same lines for the blueberry and the mixed berry. But I got nothing. Thought about some kind of "blue balls" joke for the name of the blueberry, but I didn't really like it. It was easier naming my jerky. *Lost Cherry Woods* *The first time's a mess, but she's a keeper.* *...and tastes like cherries.* *Premium cherry Melomel, handcrafted in my kitchen using only the finest bee vomit, in the most premium of plastic buckets, and aged to perfection in the back of my closet.*

Can't edit the nsfw status of a post? Or am I blind?

Somehow accidentally marked a post as NSFW when I submitted it. Tried to edit the post to unmark it as NSFW, and saw there was no way to do it. I was about to delete and repost, when I noticed the "open in browser" option, did that, and realized I could edit it that to unmark the NSFW tag. Is this an oversight? A planned feature for later? Or is it already an option, and I'm just blind?

Is it possible to migrate from Plex to jellyfin, specifically with the watched/unwatched status of library items? (Plus other questions about migrating)

I've been wanting to ditch Plex for a long time now, but there are a number of things in my way. One of the main ones is the fact that I don't know if it's possible to migrate data such as what has and has not been watched. Just my anime collection alone is comprised of a little under 450 series, with many thousands of episodes. Not to mention sizable collection of regular cartoons, tv shows, etc. Keeping track of what I have already watched was the main motivator of finally moving to a media server 5 or so years ago, rather than continuing to just watch everything in VLC like I had been doing for many years before that. So yeah, first question is whether or not there is a way to migrate all of that data. And any other data that can be migrated. There are more than a few titles, posters, etc that I had to set manually because the information scaped by Plex was wrong. I'd rather not have to do it all over again. Next would be a question about subtitle/audio track management. With Plex, I can use PastaTool to batch set the audio track and subtitle for a single episode, a whole season, or an entire series, all at once. As you might guess, anime is my primary media consumption on Plex. So just changing some "default language" setting just isn't good enough. The audio track language/title is often either unamed or named inconsistently, so it often never works. And for subtitles, you have the same issue, except you have to also include the fact that there can, and usually is, two or more English subtitles for dialogue, signs(on-screen text), commentary, etc. It's far more enjoyable to take 30 seconds to batch change an entire series to the correct audio and subtitles for spending your day off watching 40 episodes of a show, than it is to have to manually change them every 20 minutes when the next episode starts. Is there a way/tool to do this on jellyfin? The other main concern is transcoding. I watch on a desktop with a TV as a monitor. Not on Mobile/Android, not on some trash smart tv. So with Plex, I can only use their desktop app on Windows, because it is the only one that will direct-play videos without any transcoding. Plex in the browser refuses to play videos without transcoding, and I vaguely remember trying to access Plex libraries from other stuff(maybe Kodi), which would also not play without transcoding. My NAS hardware does not remotely have the power to transcode video. And quite frankly, it shouldn't have to. It's 2023. Every device I own is more than capable of playing every format, codec, etc that I could possibly need. And I don't stream outside of my local network, so data rates are really not a concern either. So basically, what are my options for direct-play with jellyfin, if any? And the easy question. Every time the Internet goes down for many hours, which with Comcast is apparently a constant occurrence, Plex decides that I don't get to watch my own media, on my own server, on my own network, in my own home. When my Internet shits the bed, will I be able to keep watching my stuff, or will jellyfin throw a hissy fit and refuse to work, like Plex does. And any other tips and tricks for migrating from Plex to jellyfin without having to do countless hours of manually configuring/editing my massive library, would be helpful. I'd really like to make the move. Aside from the issues I mentioned, there is also the fact that they keep shoving unwanted features down my throat, and making absolutely terrible UI changes with no way to change it back.

For those using Deck as your main PC, what OS do you prefer for normal computing?

After I finish up Jedi Survivor, and play Starfield on my vacation next month, I plan to sell my gaming laptop and move over to Deck only. I have a 2TB ssd in the Deck for Steam OS, and a 2TB ssd in my jsaux dock, where I'll install an OS for general computing. I had planned to install Windows, since I use a few bits of software that won't run on Linux. But honestly, Windows has been pissing me off more and more lately, and now I see they are going to force their AI assistant bullshit on us soon. So I'm considering giving up the Windows-only stuff, and go Linux. So basically, what OS do you prefer on the Deck? And if linux over Windows, which distro? Or do you just use the desktop mode in Steam OS? I used Garuda(the main/KDE version) for a year or so, and really liked it. Probably my favorite of the many distros I've tried over the years. But maybe there are better options for the Deck? I'm planning to use the Deck in handheld mode with Steam OS for most gaming, and for regular computer usage, dropping the Deck into the dock with an external monitor and peripherals, and booting off the ssd in the dock. Don't really want to use the desktop mode of Steam OS, myself. Bonus points if the distro has good working hibernation out of the box. Hibernation has been kinda iffy for me on Linux, in the past. Been a while though, so maybe things have improved. Usually, with Windows, I'll hibernate instead of shutting down, before booting into a different OS. Makes switching back and forth fast and convenient. Has always worked well with Windows, not so much with Linux. Any other assorted tips for using the Deck as a primary PC?
