Is it better to starve for scraps in a dead world of dwindling resources or to strive to find a new one?
Realistically irl, it's way easier to teraform a mostly fine planet with a working magneto sphere and liquid water as opposed to going to another planet where you'd have to do all that yourself, but sci-fi likes to pretend there are thousands of lush green worlds out in the endless black waiting to be colonized.
The larger issue would be the lack of easily available fuel to rebuild earth with, an issue only made infinitely harder by being light-years away from home and starting on a new dead rock instead of a mostly dead one.

They wore the guise of one for longer than many live. In that time he would have been treated and lived as one with mortals who wouldn't know enough to think otherwise. If this is how he choose to live I see no reason to question it.

What movies would you recommend that have come out since Dune as that is the last movie I have been able to care about at all? This isn't meant to be read as sarcastic, I'm being completely sincere I would like recommendations.

I'm not going to lie I just don't trust non-indie series any more. I can't trust them to not be arbitrarily cancelled part way through, or to be ruined after one or two seasons. There are too many burnt bridges and broken promises.

Counterpoint there has been a measurable decrease in quality of most forms of media as more and more stuff are soulless cash grabs. It used to be that games shipped completed, now they ship broken cost more and expect you to pump even more money into them on top of that. The last move I saw that I cared about was Dune. Many of the restaurants near me have reduced their quality of ingredients and staff, now when going to the nearby sandwich shop my order is wrong more often than it is correct.
What do we do when the world is measurably becoming worse?

If a cop can take your property with no consequences and you will be arrested or killed if you defend yourself and your property, then what the law says doesn't matter as the defacto state of reality isn't concerned with such petty things as laws.

Yes, imminent domain. You don't own land you only lease it from the government.
Context: I was diagnosed as autistic as a child and feel that's important to mention. For a number of years I and a friend have been working on a fantasy tabletop role playing system on and off in our free time. Think Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Shadow of the Demon Lord, etc ... In the past couple months we have made a very large amount of headway and are getting into the actual play testing stages. We are currently at the point of adding a lot of meaningful content to play test including Player Ancestries (humans elves dwarves goblins etc...). The way ancestries currently work is each ancestry has three things that it gives your character and one thing you can choose to take from a list of ancestry specific abilities. Now we arrive at the gnome in the room. I don't particularly like gnomes. I don't dislike them either, I just have never really cared about them. The only gnomes in fiction I think are remotely interesting are Paizo's where the entire race is cursed to stay motivated and happy or they become crippling depressed, ostracized by society for risk of getting infected with sad, and die. However, I don't want to rip off someone else's universe so I want to find my own way to take these guys. To that end I'm wondering if using them as an allegory for autism may make them more interesting and also be drawing from something that I can write from experience. My worry is that I do want to eventually release this game into the world one day and I can see easily where "gnomes are coded with autistic traits" could easily become "game author compares autistic people to gnomes". There is also the option of just not including gnomes at all, this is the easiest solution by far but comes at the cost of disappointing a few members of my primary game group who really likes gnomes. Thoughts, opinions, comments, and criticism are all welcome. Also any other gnome related thoughts are incredibly welcome.

Do you mean sapient? Because plants are also sentient; all sentience is is the ability to react to senses. Sapience on the other hand is the ability to have higher thought, like tool use, teaching, recognizing yourself in a mirror, etc... Finally there is the ability to feel pain which I do not think has a word. Plants from what we can tell cannot process pain, but can process negative stimuli.

This is my cat Belle, this specific photo is about 3 years old. She is currently 17, but today had been diagnosed with very aggressive lung cancer. She will not make it to Christmas, and we have decided to put her down tomorrow to spare her the pain of what is to come. I don't know why I'm posting this. She's spent the whole day with me in my bed since coming home from the vet. She hasn't left once, not to drink, not to eat, not at all. Her breath is becoming more labored, and a part of me wonders if she'll make it through the night. I suppose that doesn't really matter anymore. Thank you to whoever read this, it means a lot.

How would you react if a group of ants managed to in perfect English ask you to pretty please just take walk nominally further to go around their ant hill instead of stepping on it, and they they would feed you if you did?
You've made a boss with no actual motive to destroy the town other than that the monster is lazy and can't be bothered to walk about three extra miles on it's trek.
I personally would argue that this is a no roles required sort of event. Probably have them roll to make the food, they seem to already be proficient with Cook's tools so it's just whatever the highest attribute that they can justify + proficiency is. Then just have them talk.
You don't need to make them roll diplomacy or anything if you don't want to or if it would bog down the scene. Let them beg for the life of their village, try to make their case to something that could kill them without a second thought that they are worth allowing to exist in this world. If their arguments are bad or drive the monster to anger the fight starts now. If their arguments are good and would sway an apathetic beast and have the monster walk what is to it a trivial amount of extra distance.
Some important things to think about are why does this monster refuse to move its path. Did arrogant and believes all life weaker than it is worthless intrinsically. Is it simply lazy and doesn't care about anyone but itself. Is it actively spiteful and hates that other things exist on principle. Does it itself feel trapped governed by forces out of its control. Etc.

I played this game around when it came out as a kid at a family members house we were visiting while sick.
My only memory was beating it and about an afternoon, that it's story was completely nonsensical, and that it was basically just a mediocre call of duty clone but achieved my goal of killing an afternoon quite well.

The answer to your question is as simple as it is unsatisfying. Additional degrees of precision in construction are only as useful as your means to use them.
If you using your saw can only cut to an accuracy of 1/8 of an inch, than any precision beyond that point is lost as you are unable to actualize it
However if you are using a saw and you're now at the point of your personal skill that you're measuring to the inside or outside of the mark on a ruler, then it is likely time for you to graduate between more precise form of measurement.
https://youtu.be/qE7dYhpI_bI?si=HCtTbklCA18ZieCh
This video covers a lot of the interesting points around measurement and how we can never truly be perfectly accurate with any measurement of any non-discreet metric.
To give a real world example if you are off by a millimeter diameter when building a car engine cylinder it will likely fail.

In most cases, local governments use direct cremation to dispose of unclaimed bodies and the cremains are stored for a set period of time. After being stored the cremains may be scattered. The Cremation Society of North America has estimated that there are currently 2 million unclaimed cremated remains in the U.S.
Some counties elect to bury unclaimed bodies. Typically, the body is buried in an unmarked grave that is county-owned. If a family member later comes forward the body may be exhumed upon request.
Other states allow for unclaimed bodies to be donated for medical science. There are also state laws that allow for the unclaimed bodies of veterans to be buried by third party groups.
Source: Direct Cremation
This is for unclaimed bodies, if your body is claimed by your family then the cost is taken out of your estate or your family have to pay for it.

So when both wrestlers are laying on the mat after a big exchange the ref will start a 10 count, presumably to rule a no contest / double down. My question is, have they ever actually finished the 10 count? If so what happened?
