Fedora, it fucking slaps and worked right out of the box. I'm using it for work and play on my main rig! I dual boot for some very specific hardware things that are not normal, but other than that it's been seamless! When I booted into Windows 10 again, they auto installed copilot... Glad to be done with this crap.

I just need to share some meandering thoughts, please bear with me. The way I think and feel emotions is strange to me. I've spent so much time in my own head conceptualizing things I can't always process my own thoughts. I feel like there's this veil over all my perception that I can just barely catch a sense is there. I especially get it when listening to music with certain ethereal sounds. Sleep is another avenue where I try to press on this boundary, but I've never felt like I've broken through. I have a vague spiritual sense about it and I feel like realizing my trans identity was the biggest turn towards understanding it. I'm also neurodivergent with ADHD and a good bit of trauma, when I started my stimulant meds it made all these things more manageable, but there's still this uncomfortable disquiet always on my mind. Anyone else feel this way or something akin to it?

I can't go into much detail, but I know a lot of people with medical problems who aren't being seen by doctors in the US. Time and again I see people who have what I know to be fairly routinely urgent medical concerns that do get told by the ER that they have to wait for a specialist... 6+ months out. I'm sorry, but an infection doesn't wait 6+ months for you to put them on some basic antibiotics that a PA or I think even some nurse practitioners can prescribe in certain jurisdictions. I remember when I was in the military (circa 2008), I had a colleague who told me his mother died on the sidewalk outside an ER because they couldn't afford any insurance and the hospital refused to see her. I didn't believe it, I though that it couldn't possibly be a thing in the US. But I keep seeing parallel issues time and again, but now it's for basic things and not because of insurance, but providers and networks are so fucked up that people must be dying from these things. I know someone who worked in billing and claims for medical insurance too. They share horror stories about double leg amputees being denied a wheelchair... Hope I don't get an infected cut or something, even with my decent insurance who the hell knows at this point!

I regrettably was put through the christian "school system" in the 90's-early 00's. It was shit. I spent my first couple years in college having to learn some basics and unlearn a lot of bullshit. Being neurodivergent (ADHD) I got put into their special ed programming, which mostly consisted of getting tracked to low paying service work and stuck in a study hall where the alleged SpEd teachers just sneared at us delinquent kids. Anyway, in highschool you have christian classes including *Bible studies*, and *Christian ethics*. First one is true to the name, studying the text, but the second was nothing short of conservative bigot indoctrination. I can't stress enough how much this shit was just cult brainwashing, but that's not the point of why I'm sharing this. I had a dream yesterday where I remembered one of the segments. The teacher showed us a Calvin Klein ad poster and explained why it was so bad. You see, this feminine looking model here is actually a man!! Basically, every model was "not really" the gender they presented as. 'Be careful what you expose your eyes to so Satan doesn't work his way into your head' or whatever the lesson was. I remember having this learned response of "oh no, bad thing!", but not understanding what the actual problem was. I also looked closer at the picture and still didn't understand, they looked nice... Of course I know now that he was just being a transphobic bigot, but there was no language for it, they would just call it "the work of the devil" or some shit like that. I didn't know what to call people like that. I just feel gross, they deprived me of language for so damn long. The whole system is a cult, and they kept me so isolated and uneducated I didn't know who I was till I was in my 30's. God damn America, that's in the Bible!

It looks worse in person lol! I love the idea of really pushing the envelope with design, but this was shit. None of the panels were flat, they were all visibly wavy from a distance. The plastic bits looked like cheap, low grade junk that gets used in dollar store toys, and they were wavy too. The gaps were okay... so, congrats? Unedited pics of it look better honestly. Once you can see the fine details in person you can't help but not take it seriously. I've gone to auto shows, I've seen one off concept cars that don't even have an engine that look better quality than this. What an absolute joke.

So, I'm not publicly out, and I can pass either way (except voice of friggin course), and I am attending a wedding as a guest soon. The families are white, bougie, mid western and maybe conservative-ish. The other side is some shade of middle eastern, conservative, Muslim and Arab influences (I don't know the families at all). I have no desire to draw attention so I'm going to go in boy-mode, but I also don't want to feel like shit the whole time. Anyone ever find a good way to balance things without firing up the dysphoria into overdrive? I would love to be in a nice sun dress of course, but it ain't happening. I have some mens suits and plenty of menswear formal-ish attire that I can work with. Anyway, anyone got any thoughts?

Synthesized hormones are one of the truly greatest wonders of modern medicine. It's alleviated suffering and complications for millions of cis people around the world, let alone us trans folk. In this, we have a nuke against transphobic nonsense, and we need to get trigger happy with it. For a long time now, hogs have been working towards getting HRT for *all* trans people banned in various states. I read an article recently where conservative Ohio local law makers expressly said that that was their intent to work towards and that banning it for kids was the first step, as well as their coordinated efforts to do the same in neighboring states. We've known for a long time that this is a pretty universal playbook, build the underpinning of your ultimate goal by passing less sweeping laws and gradually turn up the restrictions. Likewise, the tactics that they use in their rhetoric is to manipulate their emotions - tell people that kid's genitals are being mutilated and it'll get people riled up enough to not think critically about the premise. 'Who doesn't abhor the idea of children being abused?.. The blue haired communist abusers, that's who!' This framing of course does not hold up to scrutiny, and I'm not going to preach to the choir on why - the point is this, framing is powerful. Even more powerful, is if the framing simply reflects material reality. If trans folks are actually abusing kids, it'd be pretty damning and then they can say 'see, bunch of sickos!' or whatever. Propagandists have manufactured hoax situations out of whole cloth to try do this, and they frequently fizzle out for obvious reasons. Then the think pieces and op-eds come out and say 'yeah, but what if they did abuse kids?!' to keep this thought in the news cycle and spreading the brain worms. This weapon however, is a double edged sword, and we can wield it to greater effect because we have material evidence. Remember the hog politicians in Ohio I mentioned? Yeah, these freaks love to tell on themselves and they have been for quite some time. The goal is this - abolition of synthesized hormones - especially birth control. I'm not putting so much effort as to search out the reporting right at the moment, but we've seen it time and again that that's what they want. (CW: CSA/Incest reference in the following sentence) They regressed abortion in the US, and it's created an uproar and back lash when people read about the law trying to force a 10 year old to give birth. People were rightfully sickened by this, and it finally hit home for some. When people see the horrors of what these policies do, they run the other way. And people will start to become alarmed when you are able to frame things into something that will directly impact them. Abolition of synthesized hormones would mean that testosterone and estrogen wouldn't be able to help people through mid-life body changes. Low T sucks for men, low E is a part of the misery of menopause. In our conversations and rhetoric, we need to be hitting on this non-stop. Everyone knows someone who deals with these issues at some point, my dad is quite the hog, but being able to take supplemental testosterone has given him a new lease on life - he'll be able to understand this at a deep level. Likewise, if you have these conversations, we need to call these things what they are - gender affirming care. The cis are more like us than they know, and they will sooner or later feel the pain of a body that is not doing what you need it to do and be. This is humanizing and normalizing a fact of life, while connecting it to our fact of life. These are talking points relate to every age, every walk of life, every income strata. The enduring philosophy is that of human connection, not destruction. We can win this this battle, we can liberate ourselves and others from the misery of the past, and we can create a better world.

Indy folks, what do you think of it? I've only ever driven through, and I have to say it seems like a complete black hole of culture and human souls. More semi trucks than cars on the roads make it feel like the clogged arteries of the capitalist economy. Can't say as I've seen an actual house, but whole neighborhoods of distribution centers. Lots of religious billboards, Lawyers too. An abnormal amount of aggressive drivers too. I know just driving through a place and judging it based on how American and shitty it is, is ironic. If they've got the guts to risk splattering them so some kid years from now doesn't become an amputee, then they're braver than the troops and especially the cowards that planted the mines. But some mention of men and women being able to roger up, maybe worded in a weird way by some staffer, is used to frame gender discussion as clearly silly. The right takes this and says "see, they're nuts!" by pointing out the silly irrelevance of gender in this situation. Rinse, repeat. People don't read the article (Pot, kettle. Kettle, pot. I've, read enough reactionary slop to know they probably actually quote the innocuous line so they have some cover.) and then bring this shit up when talking about "wokism". Like, yeah, if you believe this shit, I'd become reactionary too - none of us are immune to it.
