I am absolutely thrilled with this lot but positively jubilant about the Kraftwerk maxi!
And they have a synthpop section for singles! Pure heaven! Actually found a grail of mine…
Kites new album (actually a collection of their EPs) and 2 Dinosaur jr, a Daft Punk and an Earache compilation. My tastes vary.
Lucky find, F13 part 4, my favorite part btw, on a double gatefold LP pressed in 45 RPM.

I love that cds are so cheap nowadays.

The most expensive of the bunch was Alma Cogan, everyone. Alma Cogan is the correct answer.

As awesome as Ghostbusters is, its the wrong answer. 😁

Important note: only Severin sells the 8-disc collection. Everyone else has 7 discs and are missing two movies.
I bought a bunch of used singles. Guess which one was most expensive…?

This arrived yesterday in both vinyl and cd form. Norways best rock band delivers on their 7th album, it’s a contender for album of the year for me.
And yes, it plays at 33rpm, weirdly. The songs are You’ll be there for me / When you’re gone.

I watched NetworkChucks tutorial and just did what he did but on my Macbook. Any recent Macbook(M-series) will suffice. https://youtu.be/Wjrdr0NU4Sk?si=myYdtKnt_ks_Vdwo
Highly anticipated! Look absolutely stunning!
So heres a bunch of synthpop singles I bought cheaply for you to gawk at! Do your worst!
Just new stuff this time. They had a sale, get 3 for a fixed price. And these looked like fun: Carpenter Brut / Leather Terror - synthwave, moody and cinematic. Cabaret Voltaire / The covenant, the sword and the arm of the lord - I’ve known of this group but never really listened to them, time to change that! And finally Warsaw/ this is early, early Joy Division stuff and just really great.
Three disc set. I haven’t listened too much to the Stones so this will probably sound all new to me. I have seen more SACDs on the used market lately which is nice.
The most interesting to me was Swans cover of Love will tear us apart. Soothing! God I live singles! 🤩
Kite 1 and 4 (swedish synthpop), the new remastered Opus Dei from Laibach, and an original maxi of Life is life. Sepulchre inc. was a short-lived (this is their only release) swedish Skinny Puppy-sound a like. All in all a good catch!

The state of movies on physical media in Sweden is now that all major electronics retailers have dropped it. They used to have a pick 2 for 10 type basket over by the video games but thats gone. The really big grocery stores sometimes has a shelf with 5 or 6 of the latest releases usually only stocked with dvd and bluray. I basically have to go to second hand stores to browse physical media. So I order all new releases online. Don’t let this sad state of affairs happen to you!

I think they worked well back in the day and still do.
My The Abyss upgrade arrived and i’m very happy with it!
All new cds, all old music. 😂 Mostly electronic as you can see. The FSOL ISDN is the new 30th anniversary 2 disc set. 👍🏻
Found this used but still not what I would call cheap. Another great album anyway!

A lot less since I started using docker instead of running separate vms for everything. Less systems to update is bliss.

Thanks! I actually went for the Technics SL-1500C and am very happy with it.
Lunch pickup. RSD was mostly wasted from my perspective but i’m really happy about this one! I love me some Delia Derbyshire!
Both are movie-themed. I wish I had seen the Belmondo one, it looks like a cool Rambo rip-off. Its a generic action theme very much in the Raiders of the lost ark vein. Viva La Muerte is a surreal movie with a surprisingly fitting theme, a child spouts non-sense and sings in danish (some would argue its the same thing). It must have been incredibly niche even at the time.

Very nice! I already love Mlem so I can’t wait to try out the next generation!
Some sweet sweet swedish synth pop.
I used to own that Ministry box set back in the day. Besides being awesome it also has a vover of Smothered Hope, the Skinny Puppy song, which is worth the price of admission alone. The Cure is also a re-buy. It was nice to find a Covenant cd I don’t own in the wild too.

Noted! A neighbor recently dumped a whole collection of 7-inches of african music so I actually have a pile to go through!
Two new, two used. Nice geographic spread, ethiopean jazz, swedish and french synthpop and american pop. And tomorrow is Record Store Day!

I never had an Atari system in its heyday but the Atari Jaguar, although getting a bad rep for its controller and limited library, is a pretty solid piece of tech and has the best version of Rayman imo. So, Jaguar for me.
My favorite Kraftwerk album on the format I originally owned it on but in yellow (gasp!) and with a booklet.
New cd/bd release for 2024. So in one package you get the 2024 Steve Wilson remix on cd and bd and on the bd you also get: a Dolby Atmos remix, 96/24 LPCM stereo, DTS-HD MA 5.1 remix, 96/24 LPCM 5.1, instrumental mixes 96/24 LPCM stereo and the original 1977 stereo mix. This is a staggering amount of great music!

I love the song and the movie. I wish it would get a western bluray release. Sure it makes no sense 80% of the time but its damn cool.
I was there to pick up more sleeves for my 7-inches but stumbled upon this cool record.
I cherish my Music Dance Experience.

My wife has migraines so yeah, headphones it is! 😂 I don’t know how Klipsch speakers are but their headphones are really, really bright. I actually use bass boost when I listen to them to avoid fatigue.
For the first time in 30 years anyway. Its a Technics SL-1500C and pictured with it is the first thing I played on it!

I noticed a lot of brightness with my Meze 99 Classics but the Hifiman HE-400 sound amazing. I agree it is bright.

The red Ortofon is included, its a 2M RED, and MM. I will probably only change it once its worn out. The built-in phono stage doesn’t support MC so I would need external RIAA amp for that which seems like a hassle. 😂

Thanks! Its a very nice turntable. Very solid and it performs as well as I would expect, I use the builtin phono amp and thats good too! As for upgrading from another competent turntable? If you’re REALLY into vinyl maybe but the law of diminishing returns is alive and well.

I agree it got its looks from the 1200 series. Thats why i’m happy it was available in white. It looks less ”DJ-y” - and fits nicely on my white Kallax shelf. Its very nice to be able to play vinyl again!
I decided on the middle-of-the-road Technics SL-1500C. I’m nearly done setting it up, feels great to get back into vinyl. 😎👍🏻
Yes, I got a new bunch of used cds.

Dom följer i SDs spår.
I got it used. My trusty old Ear 9 is now relieved. Harmony Design is a swedish brand, their HPAs are really something else!
That Dying Fetus cover though…!
A couple of upgrades from dvd in the giallo box but the spanish ones are new to me.

If at some point you’re going to add more hardware it makes sense with a NAS. Otherwise just add USB I guess.
dlundh 6 months ago • 100%
All the decks listed have phono preamps built-in but can turn them off. I’m going straight into a headphone amp and don’t want to get an external phono amp right off the bat. 🤷🏼♂️

What a time to be alive, huh?
I haven’t owned (or used) a turntable for some 30 odd years. Now I want to get back in the game. Musts for me: direct drive, must be ready to play out of the box. Nice to have: bluetooth, phono preamp, USB I have no DJ ambitions but if controls ala the SL1200 are included I don’t mind but I will likely never use them. I have pretty much narrowed it down to 3 turntables but they are in different price ranges and i’m not sure if more money will actually matter? 1. AT LP-5x. Looks nice, wont break the bank. 2. Technics SL-1500C. Pricey but looks nice too. 3. Cambridge Audio Alva TT v2. Breaks the bank but seems to have all the features. Thoughts? Am I overlooking a turntable?

Dat Hard Target upgrade! 🤩
Brucesploitation! If this is anything like the Black Emanuelle box set its gonna be a treat! https://severinfilms.com/products/the-game-of-clones-bruceploitation-collection-vol-1-exclusive-8-disc-blu-ray-box-set-book
My favorite secondhand store advertised the Fu Manchu movies so I snagged all of them and added a few more discs for shits and giggles. Luckily I have a weeks vacation ahead of me and can actually watch some of them now! 🥳🍺

The UHDs are new, the BDs are second hand. The only blind buy here is Knock at the cabin. Looking forward to rewatching Barbie.

Well, no. You need to subscribe separately to streaming services. And yes, I was sceptical before I tried it. There is nothing else like it, if you want to take control over your digital music library Roon is the best way.

If you take the free trial you’ll see why there’s nothing else like it today. Its next level. Plex works fine too ofc. But its nowhere near as polished.

That would be Avatar 2. One of the blind buys. I suspect it will be very similar to the first, so a nice demo disc. The colors trilogy is superb, can’t recommend enough, especially at $7!

People will moan and groan because paid software and not opensource but there is nothing even close to Roon for doing this. https://roon.app/en/
