There's just no point in criticizing the Republican party. Their supporters don't use forums like this. They almost never leave their respective bubbles. It's the equivalent of screaming into the void. Republicans bad, Democrats good is one of the oldest forms of online circlejerking. It's a complete waste of time and effort. Yes, they would likely handle the genocide as poorly or worse than Democrats have so far. If that's your only point, you're only bringing attention to something that everyone already knows. The two mainstream political parties in the US exist on an extremely narrow spectrum. Both are neoliberal in philosophy and generally right of center economically. Only the Democrats lean left in social issues, but I find any support there to be completely nullified and undermined by their demented economic policies and rabid war hawking.

The over policing thing is so true. I’ve gotten messages from techhub.social mods with warnings about making jokes that even hinted at breaking one of their precious rules. Signal has been pretty throughly audited by data security experts. It’s as secure or more so than Telegram. It uses end to end encryption, same as Telegram. If you’re crossing the border, unlink your device, delete the app, and relink it later. Your account can’t be restore via SMS. I’m not sure what you mean by that. I’m sure my government can collect any data they want if they’re determined enough, but Signal is about as secure as it gets if you’re talking civilian digital communication.

Chats are only synchronized in Signal on actively linked devices. If you link a new device, your chat history will be completely blank at first.

If I am depressed, I’m managing it well enough to function. I don’t take any medications or do therapy or anything like that. I probably have some unhealthy habits I’ve developed over time, but overall things are going okay I guess.

CPU heavy games like Civ run like ass on the Flatpak version of Steam by the way. It’s a known bug that I think they’re trying to fix but it’s still there last I checked.

I’ve never had Debian or Arch completely break, but have had my share of annoying bugs with both of them. Biggest issue I kept having with Debian is it’d just get stuck and wouldn’t update. Think it was 12.4 I had this problem with. Way more annoying than anything Arch did to my system. I’m using Fedora now days.
