I'm slowly trying to build up my collection. While I like the benefits of cast iron, I know I'll slip up and not be able to maintain one. Then enameled cast iron swoops in with bright colors to the rescue.

I do like that solution. The problem is than a ton of casinos have it. So the actual fix is more of a retrofit than a redesign to change where the USB is, which would require a recall.

I don't understand why this is so tempting. It's clearly dangerous and even says not to do it.
Anyways, my mouth is ever slightly too small for one to accidentally slip in. But I could probably force it and not have the ability to crunch a plastic LED bulb to get it out.
If you haven't heard, there as a Lemmy version of /r/Place this weekend called [Canvas](https://canvas.toast.ooo/). There was a bit of furry art (and a ton of Bronies), but I didn't see Pawb.social represented, so I decided to draw the logo. Shoutout to [@ArieTheFloof](https://pawb.social/u/ArieTheFloof) and [@KoboldCoterie](https://pawb.social/u/KoboldCoterie) for jumping in to help!

Sure, I do something similar. I have a note for a person and I have a note for a recurring meeting. In a recurring meeting I have a Dataview field called Host.
#Meeting
This is my meeting note
Host:: [[John Doe]]
In a Person note, I have a section for meetings the person hosts. I use Dataview to search for the Host field and see of it matches the current Person note.
#Person
This is John Doe's note.
# Meetings
dataview
table without ID file.link AS "Meeting"
from #Meeting
where contains(Host, this.file.link)
The new Properties feature sounds like it'll be what Dataview fields are. Except now it'll be in a native interface where I can easily change the information about the note.
Obsidian 1.4.0 is currently in early access and it introduces Properties! This is a game changer for me! I've had to use Dataview and other plug-ins to achieve something similar, so I look forward to the native support.

I wish I could figure out the physics of scaling a bat to a (smol) 5'. I'm curious if one would even be able to achieve lift jumping from the roof of a 2 story building or would they have to go base jumping.

What I meant was design bats so that their wings are a separate set of appendages from their arms and are connected to the back side of their torso. For example, Rouge the Bat:
I do like how you described your world. It aligns with the first bullet point I made for embracing the animal design and exploring how that would affect how they live.
When it comes to anthropomorphic animals, designs tend to go in one of these directions: * Embrace animal design and differences in anatomy * Mostly human design with animal aesthetic What I'm trying to envision is a world where furries evolved closer to the **human design**, but not completely. What I would like to discuss is, **how do you think bats would have developed, particularly their wings?** The "easiest" implementation is give them back wings. But that doesn't make sense evolutionarily. Bat wings are formed from their arms and "hands". Having an extra set of limbs emerge that replicates their "arm wings" they lost seems unlikely. Ok, so how about leaving the wings on their arms? Sure. But now I want to toss another problem in this world. Hands gave us the ability to manipulate our environment and make tools. I feel that would have been a necessary step towards human-like intelligence. Let's say their phalanges shrunk to be more finger like. This along with being human-sized should make their wings useless, right? Even if they kept long phalanges like they do now, **would they still be able to have true flight?** If I assume the ability to fly is highly diminished, then the conclusion I'm making is that bats would prefer to maximize the ability to use their hands. **In this world, bats would surgically remove the wing skin between their fingers to give them proper hands.** Some may even remove all of it (and some fringe would keep it) allowing their arms to fit in standard clothing. So, what do you think? Does this design make sense for this type of world? How would you design a bat?

I could see there being a correlation between cat owners and techies. How strong of a correlation though? We'll need a study for that.
And I'll have you know I have ferrets. Which some call cat snakes.

This is the way. You are only allowed to reveal your face in the dressing room.
And while you are allowed to remove your head in a hotel room, one must not do so in the presence of the 9 other fursuiters wrestling on the beds vying for control of the Darksaber.

Same. I'm using a Surface Duo 2 and I saw a 1 star review for a Z Flip with a startup crash. So I think it's an issue with nonstandard screen ratios/resolutions.
I made a post on it in the app's community. May want to post there so the developer knows.
!lemmyconnect@lemmy.ca
I downloaded the app (Version 1.0.38), but unfortunately it immediately crashes when launching. I'm using a Surface Duo 2 running Android 12. I saw a 1 star review in the Google Play Store saying they used a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and had the same issue. So I'm thinking it might have to do with foldable phones or at least non-standard screen aspect ratios or resolutions.

I think there's one important question we haven't covered yet. Do you also need to limit the amount you fart?
Because that could affect food choice. Or is that not a factor and you'll be able to discretely let loose somewhere?

Do you want to do something like this?
table without ID file.link AS "Author",
filter(file.inlinks,(x)=>contains(x.Author,file.link) & contains(x.file.path,"Book Folder")) AS "Books"
from "Author Folder"
sort file.name
The only thing you would need to change in this code is the Book Folder and Author Folder.
But if you would like it to be a more visually appealing gallery, there may be some community plug ins you'll have to try.
dakerDraws 1 year ago • 100%
Just to make sure I understand, you want your Author notes to have a Dataview table containing all the books they've written.
For each Book note, do you have a field (either in YAML or inline Dataview)? What I personally do is have an inline field that links to the author:
Author:: [[Stephen King]]
Then in the Author note I'll have this:
table without id link(file.link, title) AS Book, Year FROM "BOOK FOLDER" WHERE contains(Author, this.file.link)
Replace BOOK FOLDER with wherever your books are. Then you can paste this into all your Author notes. Even better, make an Author template so you don't have to type it each time you make an Author note.

You know how some people say they wouldn't want to go back in time to where they had less rights? I imagine an anthro version of our society would have experienced more racism (specism?) in their history.
So I really don't particularly want to go further back than furry 90s when it was totally in to call things gay when you meant bad. I think I'd be able to handle that again with a current day mindset.
Hey everypony! Back when Friendship is Magic came out I very much enjoyed it. Not a surprise seeing as I was part of the primary target audience...a college aged man. I have not watched any of Gen 5. Honest opinions. How's it compare to Gen 4?

I used the community plugin Footnote Shortcut.
I think I joined the Fediverse misunderstanding how it works. I went in under the belief that: - Under the hood, everything is an ActivityPub post - Lemmy, Mastodon, PixelFed, and PeerTube are "interfaces" or "views" for the underlying ActivityPub post - All 4 can interact with eachother - I only need 1 account For the last point I found out that the answer is "yes...but actually no." Based on the "[ActivityPub Magic](https://pawb.social/post/73555)" thread (or [Mastodon Post](https://furry.engineer/users/bristle/statuses/110557456589239497)?), I see that Mastodon users can reply to the Lemmy thread (with some limitations) and follow Communities. Cool. I see a Lemmy thread and a Mastodon post as serving 2 different purposes. Sometimes they overlap. But maybe I want to post something on my Mastodon timeline just for something general going on in my life that I don't necessarily want to post into a Lemmy community. Now let's say I started with a Lemmy account. Unless I'm wrong, the only way to make that post would be to make a Mastodon account that's seperate from my existing Lemmy account. I thought part of the beauty of the Fediverse was that someone could be following "me" and choose whatever "interface" they want. Instead it looks like they would be following "me@Lemmy", "me@Mastodon", "me@PixelFed", and "me@PeerTube". And then there's the whole defederation of instances maybe requiring multiple accounts, but that's another topic. Now, to be clear I do see the use case of having multiple accounts for different instances (e.g. having a furry account and a general one). Is there a roadmap for "merging" accounts between platforms? I understand that question might be more towards Lemmy/Mastodon/etc. developers than server admins, but just seeing if anyone here knows.

I like to use my own custom ones:
Ctrl + [
- Add internal link- This way I can highlight a word and make it into a note
- Or just to save time not typing brackets
Ctrl + Backspace
- Toggle back links in document- So I can quickly see what other notes referenced the one I'm reading
Ctrl + 6
- Footnote Shortcut- Quickly put a footnote and auto number it
- I choose 6 because of ^
Alt + UP/DOWN
- Move line- I miss this so much when I'm typing in other programs
Alt + Shift + 1/2/3/4/5/6
- Set as heading

I think of MOCs as "topics" that naturally arrise through my notes. Let's say I had notes for Kayaking, Snowboarding, Rooftop Parkour, Sky Diving, Hiking, and Rock Climbing all written months apart. I may later realize I should create a MOC called "Physical Activities" that captures all of them.
I try to utilize folders sparingly, but it's a tough habit to break. The problem with folders is that they're hierchal. I don't want an "Physical Activities" folder, because that limits things. Perhaps I'll have another MOC called "Fear of Heights" that also has Rooftop Parkour and Skydiving. It's about creating maximum discoverability.
Tags I use to group things so I can find them with Dataview. For example, if I create a literature note, I'll tag it "Source" and have a sub tag for type, like "Source/Newspaper". As with MOCs, multiple tags can be used which helps with not seeing notes as a folder hierarchy.
