Reactions from both Bengals and commissioners.

This is absolutely absurd and should be laughed out of the room. No more taxpayer money for billionaires!
- Photos - https://www.wcpo.com/sports/football/bengals/photos-a-look-at-the-renovations-planned-for-paycor-stadium# - Another article- https://www.fox19.com/2024/09/17/live-hamilton-county-commissioners-reveal-1-billion-paycor-stadium-renovation-plan/ Initial reports said 900 million but CBC and Fox19 are both reporting 1.2-1.3 billion so I'm leaning towards that being it.
RIP. I never got the chance to go but heard good things. More importantly, best of luck to the family through a trying time.
>Arnold said widening such overpasses is possible, but not in the plans today. >“There is room to do additional width on Fifth Street. Seventh and Eighth have the potential for extra width. It’s about where does it make sense,” he said. “If the city says, ‘We’d like to do this,’ we can find ways to allow for it in the future.” What a load of crap. 4 billion plus but we can't do this? Carries 2+% of GDP but we can't make it so it works for the city?
>On Thursday, the nonprofit Sundance Institute announced the final phase of its Request for Proposal (RFP) process to host the Sundance Film Festival starting in 2027. Cincinnati, as well as Salt Lake City/Park City, Utah, and Boulder, Colorado, were chosen to move forward in this process. The winner will be announced sometime in early 2025, after the 2025 Sundance Film Festival has concluded.

I enjoy it. It's not a huge event but it usually gets me out to a bar to have just a bit more fun than I would otherwise.
Going to sticky this for a bit just because I love this event. For those who don't know, this ended in 2017 but had a good run before it. Basically some collabs were done (or in past years, one collab) and the beer was served at places all over the city. It just celebrates the wonderful beer city that Cincinnati is. Special tappings, knowlege events, etc. https://www.cincybeerweek.com/
Thoughts? I guess the premise is our stacked infield will be traded off or shed for salary reasons thus needing a 3B.
Dominant pitching again. Where was this all year?

We shall see. Had one down in OTR (basically downtown) but it folded after a couple years. I'm not sure myself how big the market is for it here.
Dominant. To catch up, after dropping two against the Mets the Reds won 3-1 on Sunday and then this game was yesterday.
Maybe they can actually stock local bock beer for Bockfest again..
I'd give it a go.
Editorialized the title a bit because I think the name "Free Parking" is....quite poor. Ranks up there with "The Bar" name of a bar in Reading. >The 2,500-square-foot space is located inside the HaNoBe at Linden Square, a $31 million mixed-use project. >The bar and restaurant is all about the art of board games. There are more than 100 different options, both old and new, available for guests to play.
>CHCURC is working to help the existing businesses inside the plaza, including a day care that’s been there for decades. College Hill Plaza tenants also include a Family Dollar and City Gear. A portion of the property had served as the former Cincinnati Police District 5 headquarters.
>“Good for Oakley. In certain neighborhoods the TIF funds are very flush, and they’re in neighborhoods where there’s a lot of development going on. The result itself is self-perpetuating,” Cramerding said. “If we’re not careful, there could be inequities in which neighborhoods have safer streets.”
>The lagering vaults, according to that document, were to become a restaurant or a bar with “vast skylights and monumental stairs leading down into the space.” >FC Cincinnati scrapped that vision sometime between 2021 and late 2022, when it presented the new concept plan to the West End Community Council. It contracted with O'Rourke Wrecking in spring 2023 to demolish the building to grade level. Bait and switch. Expect nothing less from them.
Just a reminder there are a few events around town. Post more if I forgot something. - OTRberfest- Fri-Sun at Rhinegeist/Northern Row breweries. Goat yoga, etc. etc. Inaugural OTR Oktoberfest so let's see how it goes - Listermann turns 16! Saturday Sept 7 starting at 11am (IIRC). Good beer all weekend with some limited new items and old classic likes Brass Monkey. They have some cuvees, stouts, chickow variants, etc. so come on down and celebrate. Reminder- the restaurant is now open after being taken in-house so food and beer both available (and mead, etc. etc.)
I think it was 10-0 after 3. Good game.

Next up- OTRberfest. A new event so comments on it are certainly welcome.
I have included this one in the Oktoberfest megathread. We shall see how it fits. This obviously is the first time they're doing it and it's not a traditional style Oktoberfest though I am guessing Northern Row's parking lot area will be featured (maybe as the mentioned Festgarten.) It fits neatly in the Oktoberfest calendar between Germania and Covington. Prost!
I don't have an event post up this couple of months so this'll do. Listermann is having their 16th anniversary party **Saturday September 7 starting at 11am.** Also, as of yesterday they are doing their cellar sale so they have some like Coconut Fudge Chickow!, Barrel Wears Prada, Me Want Cookie Dough, and others for sale. Sadly they did not send a link that I can share- just an email newsletter. So hit up their social media maybe for more details.
