I felt the same about android flagships, now it barely matters which one you buy almost all of them surpassed basic needs and expectations years ago

I love that about older films, the pacing tends to open itself to more emotional investment if you're in the right mood it can be such a refreshing change.

Probably worth it to remove ads and trackers thogh

I suppose also, there was likely a time before modern textiles when wearing a skirt that was durable enough for every day use could have been pretty uncomfortable
chrizbie 1 year ago • 100%
Well the truth is I recently started a job at a high school and the female students mostly wear skirts, of them about half of them wear dark stockings and I just ¯_ (ツ) _/¯ I dunno I just wondered what they do but looking through the comments it totally makes sense that they'd add a layer of comfort particularly in colder months, when I realized I also wear a tight pair of thermal pants sometimes then it became clearer as well
Not that anyone has to justify wearing what they wear I was just slightly curious is all
chrizbie 1 year ago • 100%
True, I have a thin pair of tight wool thermal pants that work a treat in winter
Genuine question and just to clarify I'm talking about stockings rather than active wear or yoga pants But I've just never really thought about it I guess..

Can I ask what kind of setup you have there? In terms of software etc..

I hear you, but I'm pretty happy with how this is working out, the advantage here is that it blocks ads and trackers for the whole network so it works on my wife's devices without her having to do anything (which she wouldn't anyway)
chrizbie 1 year ago • 50%
I know it's not exactly what you're asking but when faced with the same scenario my wife insisted on getting a dyson stick vacuum and even though I wanted a robot I have to say the dyson turned out to be a great choice, it's compact and convenient enough that it gets used daily and if you want to spot clean something it's a sinch, I haven't used a robovac so I can't really compare it but it's hard to imagine that it would perform as well, its worth mentioning that the motor is fairly powerful, it's easy to clean after each use and it stacks away nicely in the cupboard

I looked a little closer at the battery connectors and when pulling the battery out I must have yanked the little wires out of the clip just ever so slightly (I could see a little bit of them reflecting on one side) I carefully pushed them back in and avast! There is life again! Thank you kind stranger!

I haven't seen any notable issues yet, a lot of people use a wireless pi zero to do the same thing so as long as you aren't running a state of the art gaming rig (which i'm not) I think it'll be fine

Yeah I'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes, should be alright though I turned the battery optimization off

Good point, I'll have to look into that
I just discovered this and it works fantastically on any old / unused android device you might have lying around, I was shocked at how easy it was, all the instructions are there, once you have it running all you need to do is set your router DNS settings to your pihole IP address and presto! Ads and trackers are gone! [](https://files.catbox.moe/jq9vy6.png) https://github.com/DesktopECHO/Pi-hole-for-Android

You should check out aurora store on f-droid if you haven't already, its basically an alternative front end for the play store, which means you can remove your google account from your phone (if you want to)

I was very bolshy in deleting my reddit account and made a real solid commitment to only use Lemmy the instant that the api changes where announced, .. Two months later and I started feeling a bit stranded, at times it seems like there's nothing but content about programming, Linux, Foss, privacy, and Ukraine but at other times it can be really engaging..
However I have ended up making a new reddit account just so I can lurk from time to time
chrizbie 1 year ago • 100%
What a beautiful floof!
Now that a lot of the commotion has subsided I'm just curious to know how y'all are finding the Lemmy experience in general and whether you use it regularly like you did reddit?
Just want to thank the devs for all of their hard work, there are so many Lemmy apps available now and some of them are pretty nice but at the end of the day I just love Jerboa for it's functionality, income is a little tight for me just at the moment but I'll definitely be donating in the next few weeks when I can THANK YOU!
It seems like its just for.memes in general with no specific ...rules but at times it also seems to revolve around LGBQT+ content, also what is with the constant mention of 'rule'? I've even posted to it before with no dire consequences but I really had no idea what I was doing, thanks!
It would be so great if I could share pictures and videos directly to other apps much like in other lemmy clients (sync, infinity, etc..)
A safe space to tell all about your weird ass dreams
There's been a lot of controversy lately surrounding the protest actions over on r/place but having never been there myself I don't understand what the purpose of the subreddit was originally, or why protesting users chose that specific subreddit to utilize, a breif explanation would be much appreciated ✌️
I don't have a switch but my friend does and although she loves the Pokémon tcg she's never played a Pokémon video game so I'm looking at getting her a Pokémon game to play, any advice appreciated
So no question I've been enjoying lemmy, I love the freedom it offers and I love the seemingly simple and elegant framework it runs on however after having ditched Reddit for the hopes of a similar or improved content experience I have to say it is quite a bit smaller and therefore barren at times which is both a good and bad thing depending on your needs And then of course there's kbin and masterdon which from my understanding is a little more geared towards the twitter-like micro blogging But this morning somehow I stumbled across nostr which I have never heard of but I was wondering if anyone out there has any experience with it? There's a Web app like voyager at iris.to that makes browsing pretty simple..

![](https://files.catbox.moe/6gqhwy.jpg) ![](https://files.catbox.moe/9p2qys.jpg) I didn't know what the they where but somebody gave me some and I just peeled it, cut it up and steamed it, but you could totally throw this into all sorts of casseroles, soups, roasts or hangi it's really nice! Not too strong of a flavour kind of like a potato with a celery-like tinge, 10/10 will have more often 😂 Update: apparently they turn to mush if you roast them

Just curious to see what the demographic is on here and where abouts in the country are we all?
I've never had a Twitter account and I'm genuinely curious what everyone seems to love about it (or hate about it)
