The west will rebuild, paying their own corporations the whole time, and the corporations will take controlling interests in their natural resources. Ukrainians will be forced to shoulder the burden over the long term through harsh austerity terms on their immense IMF loans.

I met someone in the air force that had snuck an RPG back to their house. Security for a lot of these weapons isn't close to what it should be, and there's plenty of demand for them. They certainly aren't very concerned with their weapons winding up in the wrong hands.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were using the troll farms we know they have to harass and threaten people until they stop going against the US narrative, but honestly, the propoganda is so effective, regular citizens would be more than happy to do that for them.

This played a huge part. Learning to look at the world in a materialist way just made a bunch of puzzle pieces click into place, and the anxiety of constant uncertainty was largely erased. Life is still very much uncertain, but having that lens let's you get much more accurate when looking at what may happen.

Can't they drink in public there? Can't do that here without a possible PI. I'm sure there are tons of small examples like that, and I honestly think those more individual freedoms are going to be more convincing to people in the US than political structures. Show them that collectivism doesn't hinder individual rights unless those "rights" harm others kinda thing.

Thank you! I'm getting by, and I should have something figured out soon. I'm glad you've seen such growth! I did go through the phase of being dogmatic, but like you, more reading helped. I also got upset with people not seeing things the same way, but I've come to the point where I just realized that some people will never get past the capitalist propaganda, and some people will, but only in their own time. In the meantime, I'll be there to throw in little observations on the contradictions while realizing they may be a friend, but they aren't a comrade. It's important to have both, some of whom are hopefully friend AND comrade.

How has theory affected your life?

I've been unemployed for a while with an unstable housing situation that's just made it all the harder to get a job. I've been reading a lot(it's been a driving force behind me transitioning from demsoc, or radlib, to being an ML), but I've also noticed a change in my outlook. I have PTSD, and suffered a lot from depressive episodes. But the more I learn, the fewer episodes I've had. I no longer view the world as a hell that I had to get through just to feel the occasional spark of joy. Getting rid of a lot of the individualist thought that I had before has changed my viewpoint. I now know, that with other principled people, that the world doesn't have to be this way, that it's changeable, and that we've got much of the strategy for how to do so already laid out for us. It's made me much more optimistic than I had been, ready to face the struggles of the world because I know that we can change it.

Apparently, they didn't have to cross over into Soviet lines. A 2011 Ukrainian archaeological dig determined that they were from 1941, the year the Nazis took that area.

In fact, recent archaeological discoveries(2011) have confirmed that the bullets and the bodies are from no earlier than 1941. It wasn't until 1943(the Nazis had captured it in the first half of 1941) that the massacre was unearthed. This just so happened to provide Goebbels the perfect propaganda to push during the destruction of the Warsaw ghetto.

I just want to thank all of you for the ability to discuss things here without it turning into a toxic cesspool. Almost everywhere else, disagreement gets met with derision and hate, but here, not so much. I guess we've got the mods to thank for that largely, but it's also just the community at large. Y'all are willing to talk things out and struggle for the truth with logic and reason instead of hate. Thank you for being a community willing to see flaws instead of an enemy.

I'm not going to transition. And I just need support.

I'm not a man. I've wanted for so long to present as femme, to be seen as femme. My housing situation has been precarious lately, and I recently went from staying with a friend that was the worst kind of liberal ally to friends that are are both Q and T. I started feeling more safe and looking into diy hrt and seeing how so many of us are using ourselves as guinea pigs because we've lost access to anything like the ISR. And I see how it's becoming more and more dangerous where I live. And I realize that I'm not in a very stable position for reliable HRT. And during all my searching, I decided it's just not safe. I just need help coming to terms, I guess. Because I would transition if I felt like I could, but I just don't.

    Which Party?

I'm in the US, and I was wondering what everyone thought of the differences between PCUSA, CPUSA, & PSL. I've heard a little about each, but thought there may be comrades with experience in the parties that could help clarify their differences. After doing a sitewide search for the PSL website, I couldn't find Marxism-Leninism anywhere so that was disappointing. I found it on both other sites, but PCUSA accuses CPUSA of being revisionist, and I've heard rumors about CPUSA being filled with bad actors, but don't know enough to confirm it deny it. It's just worrisome. PCUSA seems very new, so I wonder how their organization is going. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Edit: sorry if this is the wrong community for this, but this community has a lot of principled people, so that's why I thought I might get the best answers here.

They're usually bigger, but it's been a hot, dry summer. The leaves are edible and go great in soups or with eggs! They need to be cooked, though, or they'll cause gastrointestinal distress. At least, I was told that and haven't bothered testing it. Lol

Lenin: 3 sources and component parts of Marxism https://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1913/mar/x01.htm

I wanted to see what others thought when reading the introduction. I immediately thought of all the "science" done in the US that said smoking wasn't bad for you or that climate change wasn't caused by human activity. I'm sure there are many other examples, but Lenin is specifically talking about social sciences. Does anyone know of any examples of this? I like to try to connect theory to historical or current events because it helps me understand better, but I'm drawing a blank right now. I've included the intro that I'm talking about below. "Throughout the civilised world the teachings of Marx evoke the utmost hostility and hatred of all bourgeois science (both official and liberal), which regards Marxism as a kind of “pernicious sect”. And no other attitude is to be expected, for there can be no “impartial” social science in a society based on class struggle. In one way or another, all official and liberal science defends wage-slavery, whereas Marxism has declared relentless war on that slavery. To expect science to be impartial in a wage-slave society is as foolishly naïve as to expect impartiality from manufacturers on the question of whether workers’ wages ought not to be increased by decreasing the profits of capital."
