"...scientists are confident it could improve if we teach it to feel pain."
There's a sci-fi horror movie begging to be made out of this. Add in some self-replicating nanotech to perform monitoring, maintenance and command/control functions but due to some technobabble during the inciting incident, it starts "gray goo"-ing the facility into more growth media and food. The good news is that we taught it to feel pain, bad news is now it intends to return the favor.

Suits heard about this secret sauce called AI that can cut down on the need for those pesky humans that are always looking for handouts and luxuries like a living wage and benefits. The consumer will have to accept it when the only choices they're offered are varying flavors of the same shit.

Homeopaths are derrainged and do more harm than good with traditional medicine.
This is a true statement in that homeopaths do nothing good and do some harm. It's a waste of money and time. Their system is based on a fundamental misunderstanding of reality in multiple ways ("like cures like", water memory, etc.) and provides no benefit unless you count a little extra water intake as a point in their column.

Last time anybody gave a damn about Oklahoma, it was because the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building got an unexpected facelift. This attempt to sidestep the first amendment by shouting "I'm not establishing you!" is not an improvement. Nice to see pushback from educators fighting to provide education even though it's bullshit that they have to.

I have a hard time equating the display or firing of a gun with promotion of violence but context makes a difference. Same thing with baseball bats. Both are used in competitive sports or could be tools for killing/maiming others. It's performative and pandering but not necessarily violent without more information.

I was in the middle of something in another room and it occurred to me that this familiar expression could be adapted for ADHD: A watched pot never catches fire. Good reminder to exercise a little extra caution in the everyday tasks that get boring but are still dangerous if you get complacent. Driving, cooking, poking around in a running computer with screwdriver even though you know you should shut it off, that sort of thing. Now if you'll excuse me, I should get back to cooking breakfast before the "food is done" alarms start going off throughout the building.

Some have 0-3 posts which are nearly all from the creator and a couple have some regular user activity. I recognize that this may not be against the rules as long as it's not simply for the purpose of squatting on a name but is worth observing for future developments. It does not appear that this user intends to actively moderate since they're looking to hand those communities off as soon as they're created.
