If those pagers had explosives, I wonder if the explosives were put there as a sabotage or for "destroy if found" functionality

From the link's comments, someone thought: "The police (no matter the country involved here) went way over the top on this. An anonymous e-mail is nowhere near enough evidence to go arresting/detaining someone without a thorough investigation first. The only possible exceptions being domestic violence, child abuse or a homicide in progress."

They mentioned that other providers aren't reliable enough and therefore would need to use that live notification method. I hope I understood correctly (re: the 2nd part of the sentence)

Nice, I hope rclone integrates with them soon

"We might have one more product coming in 2024. 2025 is further out so it is harder to anticipate, but after a period of many product releases, we generally enter a more "quiet" period where we are focusing more on existing products. "

Would it help them to just pick a single distribution, open source the client, and have the community figure out how to build for other distributions?
Edit: also, part of the reason there aren't many Linux users is because there's missing clients Edit2: they wrote this in the AMA: On your first question, we are in touch with the rclone dev working on Proton Drive integration and they have our API specs and documentation, and we're available to answer any questions that they might have

If the ad agencies don't like that then yeah they should fine Reddit or get compensated for Reddit claiming they're more popular than they are. I don't see the counterpoint
(Unless it wasn't a counterpoint)

I keep getting notified that I should upgrade my newpipe apk to a newer version through a url. F-Droid only has up to v0.25.2 but the latest is v0.26.1. It's been like that for >1w (the discrepancy), is this usual for F-Droid repos? Or something with my installation is wrong?
Lyft disabled scheduling rides through ride.lyft.com, I used that quite a bit but now in forced go use the app. The problem however, is that their app just doesn't work. It launches, says the Google API is necessary and then continues to close. Does anyone know of an app that use their API that doesn't shut itself down without installing Google SDK?
> Advertising Partners. We may also share personal information with third parties who we partner with for advertising campaigns or that collect information about your activity on the Services for the purposes described in the "Interest-Based Advertising" section above. It's a paid service, wtf is this BS Their final reply: > I wanted to reach out as a followup to your earlier request. I spoke with some members of our product team, and it would actually appear as though we don't currently support users opting out of that particular clause in our terms of service. I also wanted to let you know that we don’t currently share user info with third parties for advertising, and as far as I can tell, we have no roadmapped plans for doing so in the future.
I saw an article awhile ago that the police just straight up bought ad-network data about someone they were prosecuting without needing a warrant. Is there anyway to know what info ad networks have on me out there? I know there are databrokers you can query to see what they have kn you, but those are all public records from I could find so far
I noticed quite a bit of people not knowing you can opt out of the dead voice chat recording (where it transmits your mic audio when you die for a couple of seconds). When I installed the game there was a prompt that asked for an opt-in, that was pretty short to read. Do you think people automatically click "I consent" or is the prompt not very clear?
A lot of privacy guides suggest avoiding Telegram. I understand that in its default mode there's no E2EE (and no E2EE for groups at all). If people I know don't wanttko use Signal, isn't Telegram the lesser evil given it's nicer privacy policy (than other popular ones)? Say I use the FOSS version of it.
