I’m currently on a atomic distro, so how I get my software from favorite to least favorite is this:
- Flatpak
- Appimage
- Fedora distrobox
- rpm-ostree

My tip: Ares. It’s a multi system emulator that is independent from retroarch/libretro while providing the same convenience and AFAIK is the most accurate n64 emulator available.

There are a lot of amazing game boy games that can be enjoyed today, but the lack of color is annoying. Thankfully their are hacks that fix that. Here is a list, tell me if I missed any: - [Alleyway DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6510/) - [Amazing Penguin DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6797/) - [Asteroids LDX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/8484/) - [Balloon Fight GB](https://www.romhacking.net/translations/2573/) - [Bomb Jack Dx](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6781/) - [Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2 DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/944/) - [Burger Time Deluxe - EX (SGB Enhanced)](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/8478/) - [Castlevania: The Adventure DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/7604/) - [Donkey Kong Land: New Colors Mode](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6076/) - [Donkey Kong Land 2: Game Boy Color Edition](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6866/) - [Donkey Kong Land III](https://www.romhacking.net/translations/1757/) - [Dr. Mario DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5281/) - [Faceball 2000 DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6107/) - [Final Fantasy Adventure DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/8673/) - [Flipull 4Color](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/8777/) - [Galaga & Galaxian DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6541/) - [King James Bible DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6708/) - [Kirby's Dream Land DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5213/) - [Kirby's Dream Land 2 DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/7724/) - [Kirby's Pinball Land DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6079/) - [Mega Man World: Dr. Wily's Revenge GBC](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/7492/) - [Mega Man World 3 DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/8738/) - [Mega Man World 4 LDX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/7789/) - [Mega Man World 5 DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/7413/) - [Metroid II - EJRTQ Colorization](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4388/) - [Pokemon Red Full Color Hack](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1385/) - [Revenge Of The Gator Gold](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/7480/) - [Snoopy's Magic Show DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6657/) - [Spanky's Quest DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/8297/) - [Super Mario Land DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4477/) - [Super Mario Land 2 DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3784/) - [Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 DX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6683/) - [Yoshi LDX](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/7587/)

Sonic Classic Heroes is a hack that combines Sonic 1 and 2 and adds new characters and options like saving. It's my preferred way to play these games as it works on every device that can play the regular ROM and has all the additional features I need.

The main problem with Manjaro is they hold updates to the repos back for to weeks, which in itself isn’t a problem but they don’t do the same for the AUR, meaning you’re almost guaranteed to have dependencie issues at some point. And a, very minor, issue is that in the past they have broken their forum site, but that hasn’t happened for a while now.

Not OP, but for me bazzite has been great. The only issue I encountered was with a KDE extension breaking KDE on the next update, but I could just rollback and remove and admittedly you could only encounter this problem if you tinker with the desktop a lot

Yeah, as much as I love Kodi it is simply not meant for what I want to do, streaming that is.
Patch to make Kirby’s Tilt ‘n’ Tumble playable with a D-Pad. Additionally [this patch](https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6487/) allows you to remove the “Tilt” and “Tumble” from Kirby’s Tilt ‘n’ Tumbles title screen.
In this hack Mario and Friends are trapped in The Ghost's Gallery. You have to complete levels inside paintings to save the characters and then gain the option to swap to them on the fly.

Donations? Sure, but there already is stuff that does exactly that.
Subscription for microblogging? Absolutely no, especially not with a centralized, proprietary platform. Don’t start making mastodon twitter. Build your own platform or make your own instances if you have to, but don’t plug into instances without asking and if you ask pay them for the infrastructure they are providing for you service.

Apparently this is not coming soon, but depending on your device/browser you could select the text and then translate it. It is definitely possible (Photon has it), but it is problematic as their is no simple way to just translate the text without using a paid API.
This is probably my favorite Sonic rom hack of all time. It is a completely new adventure with new graphics, new soundtrack, boss fights a health system and a dark/hellish atmosphere, highly recommend.
For whatever reason you would want that, but otherwise it’s a high quality mgba frontend.

A simple online web-based ROM patcher for when you quickly want to try a hack without downloading a patcher. Supported formats: IPS, BPS, UPS, APS, RUP, PPF and xdelta.

I don’t check the source code of something big browsers, that’s a little beyond my understanding, but that’s why there are experts for that.
The webrequest api (or rather the main parts) have already been phased out of chromium, so it’s just a matter of time until Vivaldi rebases to the newest version and gets rid of the api. (I think they said they want to delay the depreciation but acknowledged that it is inevitably coming, probably sooner than later)
RmDebArc_5 5 days ago • 87%
- Same thing can be said about Vivaldi, which is based on chromium (Google). Also like you said they (librewolf, zen) can disable privacy invasive features, what they do, just like chromium based browsers do (or do not) remove google tracking
- Zen is open source and has no tracking by default compared to Vivaldi and will continue to support the web request api
RmDebArc_5 6 days ago • 91%
Why would your trust in Mozilla have anything to do with using this browser? Do you trust google more than Mozilla or why would you use a chromium based browser instead?
Vivaldi is only partially open source https://vivaldi.com/blog/vivaldi-browser-open-source/

I recommend trying zen (not stable yet) when it releases, it’s has a lot of Vivaldis features, but is based on Firefox and open source

I love Firefox because with about:config and User css you can configure it just like you want it. Also Falkon because you get a fully featured browser that runs decently on older hardware

If you had problems with fedora atomic aurora likely isn’t for you. Its main changes are adding stuff like codecs and drivers to the image and making distrobox more accessible. What tools do you use? Aurora-dx comes with brew preinstalled so maybe they are available there. Also using distrobox completely skips flatpak permissions so maybe that would help you
RmDebArc_5 6 days ago • 97%
For me that would be Fedora (preferably KDE). I currently am on Aurora (Kinoite fork), but that’s because I value stability very highly (except for immutable and Debian nothing is stable enough).
Quick question, I’m looking to make an Mbin account and just wanted to ask if there is any lemmy.ml type of situation to be aware of.
