CSAM is never an excuse to violate everyone’s privacy.
I hate seeing people implying that it is. It’s no better then Patriot Act B.s that took away privacy in the name of catching terrorists.

Then dd it all off and confirm no corruption and it truly is the size it says.

It very well could be.
My guess is they are bypassing some integrity check on signed code by glitching logic in the ASP bootrom. If it’s true then it is very possible there are no fuse banks prepped to patch the bootrom. Which I have seen used to make bootroms patchable.
It’s very hard to protect against glitch attacks. And typically that sort of measure needs to be engineered into the design itself.

Sure you don’t need it. But it’s not 2013. It should be standard along with FDE

That annoyed me too. Especially since the interview wasn’t under oath.
But they did submit his interview into the record. So Atleast that was done.
I was more annoyed how he wouldn’t answer questions that weren’t in a SCiF but these were questions he answered in his interview

But the Linux kernel is always a juicy target because of the coverage and exploit there gets you.

I stare at Linux source code very often looking for vulnerabilities.
I unironically have printed pages out to sit down with.
The idea of having the whole kernel printed… is… fun. Lol. How would your organize it for reading? Different chapters that are the directories of the kernel code ?

The claims are much bigger and much more serious. It’s not just that we see UFOs.
Under oath - the ranking intelligence officials claim that there is a SAP (top secret program) dedicated to recovering and reverse engineering non-human intelligence aircraft.
That non human bodies have been recovered.
The intelligence officials / contractors read into these programs have harmed and potentially even murdered people to keep the secret under wraps.
That the programs have no congressional oversight of actions or funds. That funds are being diverted in criminal ways - likely a fraction of the missing DOD money that cannot be accounted for.
This is all very serious before even considering the repercussions of non-human entities present on earth.

Thanks.
According to the modlog here it was deleted by mods
There was a linked article but the reason says it was not a direct link to the source?
Annoying since it was gaining traction and posts on the topic tend to be deleted due to stigma. Was common on Reddit.
Actually the mod log shows alot of posts deleted for seemingly arbitrary reasons like:
“Activism” , “misleading”, “misinformation”, and “health” (?)
Hate seeing news articles being so strictly filtered.

Thank you for that link.
Yes the post is on the mod log. The deletion note says something about no link to the news source. But it clearly had a link.
Who knows.
Annoying since the post was gaining traction and votes. Posts about the hearings tend to be deleted due to the stigma of the topic.
Im suspect of the deletion here for the same reason.

I’m pretty sure.
All the apps also error out when I try to view replies to my comment that was on said post.
The error is that the post cannot be found.
I’m pretty sure it’s been deleted. I’ll try to confirm that via federation logs though.

I like that they talked about disabling SElinux too.
When this was being used in the wild - it wasn’t so simple to disable SElinux on some vendors though ;)

This is a decent write up.
But I’m annoyed with so many posts claiming novel techniques.
Nothing about this is novel. Exploiting a slab UAF by falling back to page allocator and spraying PTEs is used quiet extensively. And far back on android kernels.
And do they have to be infosec focused?

There are many communities I cannot view with this account. Ukraine@kbin.social is one example. But there are quite a few by browsing the “trending” communities on WefWef. What gives?
r/Lemmy right now is full of posts basically talking about how bad Lemmy is handling right now. It’s a bad look and will probably hurt the migration. I know we are moving off of Reddit but the Lemmy subreddit needs some positivity for people looking to migrate
