I kept it pretty straightforward. Listed the rules. Said its a welcome place for conservatives. We'll see.

I promoted this sub over at /r/republican. Told them about the rules. I don't care if they ban me, so I figure that I'd try to give this place a boost.

Let's watch the subscribers and see if it worked. Lemmy is pretty hit and miss right now.

I was raised Christian and took all the stories at face value and true. I think I was about 7 or so when I watch a movie I think was called The Bible. For some reason, seeing the stuff on video allowed me to see how ridiculous it was. After that, I still went to church, but I was looking at it from the outside.

Technological Determinism--the philosophy that the technological development of a society determines the most effective economic system to meet the needs of society.

It would argue that the technology of industrialization that brought Capitalism was not an accident. Capitalism was the natural outcome of the times. It would also argue that to try to force socialism onto the same society would be inefficient and essentially unnatural. Technological deterministic thought sees technology as the driving force of social, economic, political, and even artistic change. In it's weak form, it is undeniably true--technology effects the form that society and economy take. In it's stronger form, it would claim that, barring enormous effort, Capitalism was the inevitable outcome of the technological development of the time. It also explains why high automation and AI, that can do all or most of the work that humans do, will make Capitalism impossible. Technology makes new jobs only until it also takes all those jobs. After that, wealth is no longer distributed through a Capitalist system and something else will emerge. Must emerge.

I'm a lefty and I came here expecting a shitshow, but instead I found a respectable, and these days, ballsy sidebar.

I know there are still people within the GOP who have not been caught up in the ugly direction that it has gone. It is actually very good to find evidence of their existence. I would love to see an honorable, democracy embracing, non-discriminating branch of the GOP rise up become popular. In fact, half the Democratic party would probably be more aligned with the GOP. Yet, the GOP looked to the extreme right, bigots, racists, and even fascists to expand their voter base. This is not only wrong, but unsustainable. Anyway, the only voice in this community right now is this “technological determinist”, social democrat. Statistically, one in a hundred members actually comment. I’m actually rooting for you guys to become an active community and until then, it looks like I’m your spokesman. Hehe.

Actually, the conversation would go like this.

Kid: Dad, someone on the internet said Jesus dies for our sins.

Dad: What do you think of that?

Kid: I'm not sure but it's weird. How can someone dying have anything to do with the bad things that other people do?

Dad: It only makes sense if you understand that back then, they used to kill animals as a sacrifice to God. They believed that God will show them more favor, the larger the sacrifice. If you do something God doesn't like, killing something will make God happy with you again.

Kid: This is getting more bizarre, and creapy.

Dad: So, Christians believe that Jesus was sacrificed to forgive all humans for all the bad things they do so God will be happy with them again.

Kid: O...K... So, we're all forgiven for everything we do.

Dad: Not exactly. You have to feel bad about it and ask Jesus to forgive you. If you're Catholic, you have to go through a priest.

Kid: David cries when he has to go talk to the his priest.

Dad: Yeah, that's a different topic, but that's what they believe.

Kid: Why does God want them to kill things?

Dad: It seems that he changed his mind. Somehow, since killing his "son" was such a big deal, that he's happy with us without further killing.

Kid: Is God supposed to be smart?

Dad: They believe that he knows everything and makes everything happen.

Kid: Isn't he suppose to help good people and punish bad people?

Dad: We'll get there later, your question was about sacrifice. Have you heard of communion?

Kid: Isn't that when they drink juice and eat a cookie.

Dad: That's right. The cookie is supposed to be the body of Jesus, and the juice is supposed to be his blood.

    Kid: Seriously?!

Dad: Yes. It's symbolic cannibalism. According to the bible, Jesus told them to do it.

Kid: Like half the kids as school and all of their families do that!

    Dad: Yup. Pretty weird.

I'd like to hear opinions on MyNumber.

When I lived in Norway, we had a similar thing that you need to do absolutely anything. It was actually very convenient, saved a lot of paperwork, and made life easier. You can generally trust the Norwegian government to look out for your interests and not abuse a system like that. I'm hearing very negative opinions about the MyNumber system here in Japan. I trust the Japanese government less than I do the Norwegian government. What do others think? Are the risks greater than the benefits, if there are benefits? I'm legitimately curious and have no solid opinion on this.

I can agree with the gist of what you're saying. They all have distinct uses. However, if you take that too far, the tail starts wagging the dog. Words and context are what should make the distinctions that you ascribe to punctuation. The punctuation is to make it easier to read, and help when pronunciation isn't there to carry meaning.

With parenthetical phrases it is not always so clear cut that you can decide to use marks to indicate that the reader should pay more or less attention. But you still have to choose one even when it's arbitrary.

So we teach what the prescriptivists believe applies more cleanly than it does, when in reality there is a lot of overlap where multiple marks could apply. Forcing marks that have explicit meaning where that meaning doesn't apply changes the meaning of the words.

What I like about the em dash is that it does so much that it allows you to let the words do the talking rather than the punctuation. It's an approach and a style. Everyone should learn exactly what you are describing and master it. Then explore letting it go when it gets in the way or doesn't matter.

In general, I'm just getting some discussion started.

Continentally-challenged = Britain. I was just having fun. That is the usual style there.

This is all my bias. It does all these things and I think that's very cool. I was poorly taught the semicolon, so when I learned alternatives, I got excited.

My motivation for replacing everything allowed with em dashes is because they look cool and make intuitive sense to readers of all levels. My motivation for replacing semicolons so much I blame on the psychological impact of the poor way they were taught to me, and finding that many people just kind of skim over them without knowing why they are there.

I still teach my students all the punctuation they will encounter.

    My friend the em dash.

The em dash is called the em dash because on old typewriters it was as long as an M. Why do I feel closer to this punctuation mark than the others? It could be partly because I ignored it for so long that it is the last punctuation mark that I got to know, and when I found it, I learned that it could do the work of several other punctuation marks, especially my archrival, the semicolon! I mean, semicolons have their place. In my opinion, two places: lists within lists can be indicated with semicolons, and when you want to show your English teacher that you were listening in class. That's about it. I was taught that if I want to show that two independent clauses (an independent clause is a complete simple sentence) have a stronger connect than just being right next to each other, we can add a semicolon. And then they proceeded to show us examples of full, complex, sentences with semicolons between them. So, they weren't wrong, but they could have just said that they link two sentences to show a stronger connection--other specific syntactic units have nothing to do with it. See what I did there? I used an em dash where a semicolon would have been. If you don't know where it is on your keyboard and your app doesn't make it automatically when you write a double dash, then a double dash (--) will do fine. If you are among the continentally-challenged users of English, you may use a single dash ( - ) to achieve the same thing as a double dash. If you use the en dash, leave a space before and after the dash, but not with the em dash. The em dash can also replace (parenthesis) or commas to set apart a phrase in the middle of a sentence. "My best friend—the one who moved to Australia last year—just sent me a postcard." So, we've now replaced the semicolon, parenthesis and commas in at least some of their uses. We're coming for you now, ellipsis. The ellipsis (...) does a lot of things: omission, pause, cutting off a sentence part way through, and suspense. The em dash can be used for all but omission. So, if you leave out some text from the middle of a sentence, replace it with an ellipsis, but otherwise, you may want to use the em dash. When constructing an ellipsis, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. When using an em dash to cut off a sentence, it comes across as a bit more harsh. "If I have to come in there again--" When you want it to kind of trail off more gently, maybe an ellipsis is called for. "But I thought Christie was..." I've seen them replace quotation marks and colons, but that's not something I do with them. I would be happy just to have them rid us of the semicolon and Kurt Vonnegut agrees with me. He said, "Here is a lesson in creative writing. First rule: Do not use semicolons... All they do is show you've been to college." Thoughts?

My wife misheard the lyrics in the Wizard of OZ. (English is her second language.) It probably struck me as funnier than it should have, but she was causally singing, "We have to see the Wizard!" instead of "We're off to see the Wizard!" Somehow cracked me up that some higher authority had dictated that they must see the Wizard but they were still so stoked about going.

Neither are wrong. The former is more common in America and is more casual. Funny, because the general rule is that for two phrases that mean the same thing, the more wordy statement usually the more polite.

I fully agree, but I have to admit, I have made every single mistake that I hate. When I am thinking about the idea and typing fast, I can break any of the rules that I hold dear and judge others on. The one that hit me the hardest was when I wrote 'then' when I meant 'than'. (I reserve particularly harsh judgement for people who make that mistake.) But I've also actually written 'could of', and every possible iteration of 'their', 'they're' and 'there' in the wrong context. I have edited for a living for decades. Editing and writing are two different things.

Like I said, I am typing fast and thinking about the ideas. When I do this, I am typing out the words partly based on how they sound. It's not time for grammar, it's time for getting my ideas into the computer. That's when it happens.

Well, technically, in formal writing 'less' is incorrect. Do not use it if you want to come across as educated. It can be considered correct in casual speech because once something is common, we really can't call it incorrect, but using it will have social implications when you are being judged on language.

To Oxford Comma or not to Oxford Comma

My Microsoft account at work made me re-think this because it is pushing me to add more commas that I usually do. I'm of two minds here. On one hand, punctuation is for clarity. If a sentence is clear without additional hyphens or commas, you could argue that they are not needed. For example: I want ice cream too. (Acceptable in informal writing.) I want ice cream, too. (Expected in formal writing.) I want to eat, mom. (Always a good idea.) I want to eat mom. (Or the police could be involved.) Or with hyphens when putting two adjectives before a noun, as with: "a well-known author" or "a high-speed chase." With both of these, leaving out the hyphen would not change the meaning or cause confusion. However, with "high-school students" vs "high school students" the police could get involved again over omitting the hyphen. I tend toward leaving it out unless it improves clarity or changes meaning. Now for the Oxford comma. Have we all seen the memes? However you feel about strippers, is would probably be less confusing if "the strippers, Kennedy, and Stalin" suddenly arrived, than it would be if "the strippers, Kennedy and Stalin" arrived. Not using the Oxford comma can make the phrase ambiguous, but when it doesn't become ambiguous, as with, "Get me the carrots, potatoes and celery", we can really leave it out without problems. I go back and forth on these. Even the most careful writers and editors can fail to see the ambiguity in their phrases, so choosing to always include the punctuation is a good way to go. Then again, if you feel confident and want to remove the clutter, I can respect that too. If you have a style guide you must follow, do that, if not, then stay consistent with whatever you choose. Thoughts? Or more fun examples are welcome.

    Less vs. Fewer

Of course the official rule is that for countable things, like apples, we say fewer, as in, "Why are there fewer apples?" And for things that you can't really count, you use less, as in "We need more dream time and less screen time." But recently, even from native speakers who've been to university, you can hear people using 'less' when the grammar books say they should use 'fewer'. Language changes and there are many examples of things that we say differently than we write. What are your thoughts? Should we grammar nazi this until everyone gets back in line? Should we just let language evolve and enjoy the ride? Do you think it will settle in with spoken and written forms being different? Do you think this will become the norm in English? By the way, I blame supermarkets with their "9 items or less" signs.

Hello members of English Usage and Grammar.

I see there are no comments here yet. I am an English professor, and have experience in magazine, book, and test editing. I often comment on grammar related subs on "that other social media site", but I'm trying to help Lemmy grow by contributing here instead. But to do that, there ~~needs~~ need to be posts. : ) The way to get a community growing is to start posting. I'm going to start some seed topics, so please comment on them and add your own. Questions are good too.

I very much want to reply to your posts, but at the moment I can't. So, I am posting my replies here, because it seems I can do that.

So Spookywagons. Here is the reply to your questions: Hiking spots you say? My students 'curate' and organize hike, in that we provide all the info you need to get there, know the path, and know what gear you'll need for hikes all over the region. The info we put together can be used anytime by anyone, so here are some links. They are all under an hour from Umeda. I'm going to assume that you have seen [this post](https://lemmy.world/post/745005). Right now, this is probably the best hike in the regions because it is getting hot. This hike is rather flat, runs along a river, and intermittently goes through long tunnels through the mountains that act as natural air conditioning. On a holiday, there can be more people there, but when we went a few weeks ago, we passed very few others. I'm trying to wean our Hiking group off Reddit, but that's where our links are. [Here is a hike](https://www.reddit.com/r/thisisosaka/comments/13k1nvf/thisisosaka_hike_for_may_will_be_the_28th_bamboo/) that starts in the really touristy area, but quickly passes through that and looks at some authentic Japanese neighborhoods and up to a very cool temple. Again, not much uphill, so in the heat, doable. [Here is one](https://www.reddit.com/r/thisisosaka/comments/1183v1k/feb_25_this_saturday_well_hike_through_fumin_no/) that is longer and has more uphill. I would not do it this time of year, but some people are. It's a great hike. The farther out you go the fewer the people. The area is well maintained, but be prepared for detours occasionally. Poles don't hurt here, but are not necessary. Carry water. There are more on our R***it page. I do not recommend doing the Cherry Blossom hike. In the first half, you'd probably get heat stroke going up the very long stairs, and if you made it through that, there isn't much to see outside of cherry blossom season. The Minoo hike is gorgeous. (That's also a play on words, because you are hiking up a gorge.) It goes uphill, but there are lots of opportunities to rest. It's also shorter than the others. There can be a lot of people on holidays. Never been there this time of year. Now there is also Alltrails.com. The problem with Alltrails is that although they have lots of great trails, there are a lot of recorded trails that are wrong, or outdated. Be sure to check on them. If they have my username on them however, you can be sure that the info is solid. Further out there's one called 48 Falls. Guess what you see on that hike. I hear that I should do that one, but haven't gotten there yet. If you try something that I didn't mention, please come back and tell us about it. As for food, in the other links in this community I gave my advice for visitors. However, in the [other Osaka community](https://lemmy.world/c/osakalife) aimed at people who live here, we so have of recommendations for the kind of things that you start to crave after you've been here a while.

Sumatra beans seem hard to find recently in Starbucks, Mandheling French at Kaldi is a good replacement. www.google.com

Mandheling is a type of Sumatra and has the same low level of acidity as Starbucks Sumatra. (They are probably from similar beans.) Mild taste, easy on your stomach. After going to three Starbucks and not finding them, I got my fix from Kaldi.

Any leads on sourdough in Osaka?

We've started our own wild yeast batch, and you can get dry sourdough yeast off of Amazon which has more punch that our wild batch, but sometimes a professionally done loaf is convenient. Any clues on where to find good local sourdough bread?

When you are in Osaka, you must eat Okonomiyaki.

It is sometimes called pizza and sometimes called pancakes and sometimes called pizza pancakes, but it is not those things. It is batter, covering meat and cabbage, and sometimes noodles, and meat, fried and topped with "sauce", mayonnaise, and very, very thin slices of dried fish. [All these things together ](https://en.bentoandco.com/blogs/bento/easy-japanese-recipe-okonomiyaki)do not sound particularly appetizing to me, but they most certainly are as the whole transcends the sum of it's parts. The name means Fried As You Like It. I recommend telling the person taking your order "Buta okonomiyaki, modan kudasai." That means Okonomiyaki with pork mean and fried on top of noodles. When my metabolism was higher, I also asked for, "mochi iri". Mochi is highly glutenous rice pounded into a single mass, which is then cut up and added to the okonimiyaki. Okonomiyaki requires some serious chop stick skills, but the ears of the people in the shops are listening for the sound of breaking chopsticks and they will have a new set for you within seconds of breaking yours. This is oddly specific because it happened to me. They may offer you a fork and knife. That is actually how I eat it at home when my wife makes it, but in shops, I use chop sticks because I can. I don't have a shop to recommend. Put okonomiyaki into google maps and try the one nearest you. I have not had bad okonomiyaki, except in Hiroshima, which is a nice city, but their version of okonimiyaki does not deserve the same name. Osaka okomiyaki is similar to nothing and uniquely Japanese, and wonderful.

A hike up to Minoo falls will expose you to some of Japan's most beautiful natural environments, Temples, the rare giant salamander if you are lucky, and maybe some wild monkeys.

And a [beautiful waterfall](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Minoh+Falls/@34.8538311,135.4719922,3a,75y,90t/data=!3m8!1e2!3m6!1sAF1QipMJgj24vh1YFLWxHmIl4Y8QGVrI2hQvH1t5EaI!2e10!3e12!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipMJgj24vh1YFLWxHmIl4Y8QGVrI2hQvH1t5EaI%3Dw129-h86-k-no!7i6960!8i4640!4m7!3m6!1s0x6000f98c6d0ac613:0x4cd7b8ae9c8328a0!8m2!3d34.8538281!4d135.4719911!10e5!16s%2Fg%2F120lqnk1?entry=ttu). It's a great walk and Osaka locals also visit. Just go to Minoo Station and this route will get you started. The route will be obvious. There's food at the top. There's a bit of a grade, so the mostly sedentary may have to work to get to the top, but for most people it is not a problem. The path is well paved and safe. If you are in Osaka, you should visit the Aquarium.

The best two aquariums I've been to in Japan are the [Kaiyukan](https://www.kaiyukan.com/language/eng/) in Osaka and one in Okinawa. Not sure which I'd say is best, but the Osaka aquarium is very cool. You start by taking a long escalator ride to the top of the building. The general layout is a giant central aquarium with a walkway winding around it. Making its way around several times before reaching the bottom. The central aquarium represents the Pacific Ocean and increasing depths reveal different kinds of fish. Probably the main attractions are the Whale Sharks and Stingrays. As you make your way around, looking outward from the central tank you'll find many other fish and animals presented. It is a well spent afternoon. Next door is the [Tempozan Marketplace](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Tempozan+Market+Place/@34.6556123,135.4300206,19.42z/data=!3m1!5s0x6000e8f4af449919:0x3b68dfa4ce63fac0!4m14!1m7!3m6!1s0x6000e8f48c0da9cd:0x6f83c520ae082ccc!2sOsaka+Aquarium+Kaiyukan!8m2!3d34.6545182!4d135.4289645!16zL20vMDJjeW13!3m5!1s0x6000e8f4a08226c7:0x681672834051879e!8m2!3d34.6558539!4d135.430205!16s%2Fg%2F1tlw8zhr?entry=ttu), mall with all varieties of food...and Legos.

This will be better for me than Amagasaki. I'm finding it hard to get an exact date. Some pages say that it should be already open, but the main Costco page does not list it. Inspired by the pie thread, where can we find good pies in Osaka?

I'm talking about real pies, not tarts. (Although sometimes Andrew's Egg Tarts fill the void.) Key Lime, Lemon Meringue, Rhubarb/Strawberry, Pecan, Apple, Cherry, Peach, etc. Searches for Pies in Osaka normally return images of things that are entirely alien to me. There was a place called The Pie Shop which looks amazing, but it disappeared with the pandemic. Costco has the occasional Apple or Pumpkin Pie and those are kind of OK with their commercial crust. Of course my wife's pies are amazing, but out of those listed above, she only makes apple pie. So, what do you know? Are there any amazing pies in Osaka? I suppose we can include tarts if they are sweet, juicy, and fresh.

This one is about Bacon. I only have one, but it's thick and gets crispy.

Here's my problem with most bacon I find here. It is too thin, and it is cured with something that burns before the bacon gets crispy. The one I found is not pretty. It looks like it is the odds and ends from some other cut, but it tastes great and gets crispy. It's at [Kitano Ace One](https://www.google.com/maps/place/KITANO+ACE+ONE+%E3%82%89%E3%82%89%E3%81%BD%E3%83%BC%E3%81%A8EXPOCITY%E5%BA%97/@34.8057099,135.5338989,17z/data=!3m2!4b1!5s0x6000e34d5dc0085b:0x3257cebaa91bce0!4m6!3m5!1s0x6000e34d17989913:0xb49b39bc6de53df0!8m2!3d34.8057099!4d135.5364738!16s%2Fg%2F11clztk7gq?entry=ttu). The link is for the one at LalaPort near Banpaku Koen. I hear there's another one. If anyone knows the source of bacon where these cuts come from, please let me know. There are also some good sausage in the refrigerator section.

Hamburgers in Osaka. Here are my favorites, what are yours?

All these are around the same price. A set will be more than 1500 yen, but less than 2000. Let's start with Pizza. Where is the best pizza in Osaka or the surrounding region?

My knowledge here is limited. I eat two kinds of Pizza. When I want Italian pizza, it's [Salvatore Cuomo](https://www.google.com/maps/search/Salvatore+Osaka/@34.8063543,135.4436678,12z/data=!3m1!4b1?entry=ttu). I also love their 4 cheese gnocchi. If I want American style pizza, I go to Costco. The variety is small, but I do not know a better place for the price. I am curious about the Gyoumu Supermarket pizzas. They seem good sized and not too expensive. I'd love to hear experiences with them. Oh, yes, and there are my wife's pizza margherita, which is amazing, but I'm not sharing. I can eat delivery pizza, but the cost is ridiculous and I don't like it that much. Works in a pinch when people drop by. Points for experimentation however. What else have you got? Please include links.

We did this last weekend--The Tunnel Hike along the old train line.

I may be biased, but this is the best day trip from Osaka. It is a great summer hike because the tunnels are like natural air conditioners. It starts out with a short walk through town. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/86ca30bd-a09c-472d-a853-267e93920fe2.jpeg) The surroundings are lush and green. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/79e887b4-3aa4-4464-b3ff-db71146be307.jpeg) Some wildlife. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/0b397ee9-9d6b-4c77-b316-020a7b2fd303.jpeg) But here is what really makes this hike different. The tunnels! We counted six. In one, you can't see light from the entrance or exit. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/1bc105f7-6a1e-4df6-900c-0ee90fc0ef85.jpeg) We found a GeoCache! I won't tell you which tunnel it was in. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/737fff14-7ee6-4c43-bdb6-78085b5b904b.jpeg) ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/51183338-5b1f-4a17-8376-27133f76f964.jpeg) Some tunnels, some green, some tunnels, some green. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/879a1d6f-59d0-4cc7-ad17-baa49ebbddff.jpeg) ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/c48795c2-a751-42fe-a87e-a2e1fdf20ddd.jpeg) ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/d97d8bc4-995f-4244-8889-0445e50c28bc.jpeg) And some bridges. The whole trail is quite safe. In the old days the bridges were a bit dodgy. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/a1b75a2e-fc22-4cdb-a884-22fa3bfb25cd.jpeg) ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/6871853d-0793-4569-8847-180e30a76923.jpeg) ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/57f999a7-944b-4f4c-a58e-ea5b0adb5ce3.jpeg) Near the end you'll come to a spot with places to sit and eat lunch or go down by the river. If you wait until the end of the hike to eat, there is a nice restaurant with wild deer or wild boar. Keep walking and you'll find the station that will take you back to Osaka.

May as well find out and get it over with.

I got banned on a parallel world sub because a kid was outed by his parents as communist and he was going to be kicked out of the house and I told him to lie and say whatever he needed to until he could support himself. Now that you know my horrible crime, am I still welcome?

Welcome to Osaka: Things To Do

Welcome! Got questions about what to do in Osaka? Ask. I've been here 23 years and I'll answer the best I can until we get more people here. Warning, I have a strong bias toward hiking and my knowledge of night life is around 20 years old. So, if you know something about Osaka, please stick around and share. You may get some good ideas too.

    Welcome to OsakaLife.

Differently than /r/osaka on Reddit, we're splitting Osaka and OsakaLife into two communities. OsakaLife is aimed at those who live in Osaka and want to discuss issues related to life here and exchange information. So, we'll send all the tourism related posts to the Osaka community. The guidelines for behavior at this point are to be cool to each other, keep the topic related to Osaka, and don't advertise. By don't advertise, I don't mean we can't share events, products, or services. That's OK and fully encouraged, even if they are your events, products or services, but please don't advertise them here. The difference between sharing and advertising usually comes down to rhetoric, so if you just avoid attempting to convince someone about your event, product, or service, that's probably advertising. However, if you are attempting to convince people that [Nick & Renee's Hamburgers](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Nick+%EF%BC%86+Renee+Minoh+Sakura+Base/@34.8255618,135.3896284,13z/data=!4m10!1m2!2m1!1snick+and+renee!3m6!1s0x6000fbebe36fe391:0xb0e9579e5684d772!8m2!3d34.8255585!4d135.4658487!15sCg5uaWNrIGFuZCByZW5lZZIBFGhhbWJ1cmdlcl9yZXN0YXVyYW504AEA!16s%2Fg%2F11v11393zg?entry=ttu) are not only the best hamburgers in Japan, but would stand up to the best in the world, that's fine. Unless you happen to be Nick or Renee (assuming they are real people), then please just stick to the facts if telling about your most excellent Hamburger restaurant. We are clearly in need of some posts, so if you can offer some wisdom about the region or have questions, please feel free to post.
