Huntress with early RoSS and RoH (and maybe transmute for a better tier 1 weapon) might be able to do it, barkskin to cover for armor and point blank talent in place of melee weapons.

Maybe I'll give it a shot when I don't feel like doing standard challenges

From the little I played with Arduino's IoT platform, I honestly believe that if there is a compatible sensor that can detect vape smoke, almost anyone could get a simple version up and running. It was a very simple and largely automated setup if all you want is to get the sensor output to the portal and then link it to a UI element.

Of course gluing together this software is more complex than that, but it's no grand feat either.

Absolutely I am making a bunch of assumptions. Following the tried and true Keep It Simple Stupid approach. Because there is no indication given that any more complexity is required, and keeping complexity to a minimum is key to efficient development. If there was anything actually technically impressive (or at least technically impressive sounding) about what they did, I trust they would have mentioned it.

Then why publish detection events like this? If they do start following up, all it does is warn perpetrators, and allow for fast iteration of anti-detection, to say nothing of other concerns people have mentioned (tripping other people's detectors etc.)

Unless there will be disciplinary follow-up ( -> no reason for this design), I only see this going the way of de-facto scoreboards among kids.

It's fast, controllable, with the right investment permanently active and providing blind and cripple conditions, if you fancy a metamorph ally warp is real neat with it...

Think of evasion as a nice bonus, not something to fully rely on. (And honestly same for armor, though it is more reliable).

For this boss specifically I'd suggest stamina potions, toxic essence to AoE deal with the majority of enemies and shrouding fog (2,2,3 just to be on the safe side). Also get stones of aggression for the final phase, and as general backups you can get stones of flock + shock for wand recharge or + psionic blast for straight enemy clearing.

One note on fire extinguishing, sometimes you need to wait a turn, especially in the presence of movement speed boosts. probably needs the turn timer to cross a certain spot to extinguish fire on hero

Might just want to pop an unblessed Ankh if available

Tip: when you intend to ascend with the hero item, just leave it on the ground by the stairs before you go down; pick it up on the way out

I just want to note one thing, it's absolutely valid to spend a couple upgrades on low tier gear, if the alternative is dying before you can get your hands on the high tier stuff.

And to me "This weapon benefits more from upgrades" seems pretty clear.

Warden + something that makes grass. Bonus for high damage wand especially lightning (doesn't damage cover, full damage for multiple zaps)

Even better, RoH and ranged attacks until a melee finisher if needed. I do have a similar win, not naked but FiMA evasion enhanced cloth, so 0-0 damage reduction

Low accuracy weapon is not the problem if you use surprise attacks properly (damage augument is asking for trouble IMO). Sometimes it's also just not worth it killing an enemy.

I also see a disintegration wand in your hotbar, should have used that as AOE to finish off the ghouls.

Once you learn to play around enemies to avoid hits, you will find that you need shockingly little armor. While you're learning that, by all means do invest a bit more if it helps you

You can get rid of the web by just throwing something in it. Free if you have a shuriken and just took a step

Was there a potion already on the floor maybe? With another drop setting it off?

If you want more challenge, the chals are right there. I very much relate to the mindless playing on a run that's too easy (i.e. no chal)

Looks like no more need to switch to a notes app, this is wonderful

Keeping yourself fed is also easier when you use up less food while exploring

Knowing the floor is probably enough, if the player wants, replay the seed on no chal and just magic map the floor might be enough to figure out what they missed
