The funny thing is 90% of these crapps are just web wrappers, and 90% of the time its a SAAS portal they have just customised with a logo.
I asked my gym if there 'app' had a website. After they said no I did some digging and found it. Put a web launcher on my home screen (or use hermit/aNative) and done.
Fuck restaurants though. I'm not doing a table QR code, paying EXTRA (50 cent fee), giving you data thats not needed ... And then going to the counter to ask where my oder is. I've seen this first hand and its ridiculous. Maybe MAYBE you can tempt me with a 10% discount. Having saved thst on not printing menus and staff not taking orders. Did I say fuck restaurants?

I used the ever helpful wiki to dig into this. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venom_War
It seeks the one you found mentioning Dylan is #1 in the series. There also appears to be a prelude series.
Not sure if these will explain who Dylan is. I clicked through the wiki but it got confusing. Superhero stuff always confused me.
The other #1 issues you found looks like the titles from the "tie in" comics.

Yes. And SA is proposing a law against kids using online services.
Yet the conversion is about how the tech companies will handle it. Not about what society in general will do.
GlenRambo 1 week ago • 100%
People only focus on the tech solution of this. We don't make ciggys or booze impossible for kids to injest.
Socialy its not responsible to let your kids drink or smoke. Even behind ose doors.
I think a large part of the tech change is society itself. It needs to become taboo to let kids use the devices and services. Along with understanding the risks (addiction to tech, isolation, depression, being influenced etc). Funily enough the risks aren't only for children it's for all of us.

Lol. I'm not a Mac person. Airbook? The thin ones.
Question is title. In the past I've installed many distros on many older PCs, but never used linux properly (although slowly moving over to avoid win11). I've also had a heap of history with windows installs. A family member has been testing Mint on an old laptop and is going well. This is a trial run before I update their iMac laptop (not sure what one but no longer supposed by OS updates). I've never booted to an iMac BIOS or installed over top of apple. - Is this going to be like installing over windows? - What issues can I expect? - Should I consider another distro? Asking here as searching results in AI bullshit websites.

Pretty sure most people read these things as Lego is itself renewable.
Plastics (even renewable) can be at the end of the line and not be renewed into further plastics.

Is plasma big screen really an option? Id like to install it on a desktop to act as a android tv. Launch Stremio, YT and maybe one or two other apps/websites. Easy big tile navigation with remote (flirc).
It's in dev since 2020. The images hosted on the site are bit for any of my hardware. It says theres a Debian package. Installed that though LMDE but it was horrible. Somone mentioned Kububtu can install it with apt, but its not listed. Think I'll give up.

I like the idea. In regards to lemmy and its instances (so I guess a smaller Scale to what your suggesting ... Though I still don't fully get the fediverse).
I did something similar when picking a Lemmy instance. What was the instance that had defederated others the least. There was a git page somewhere that listed them all.
On the flip side I've heard a notion that no one single instance should become the "main" instance. Probably with your suggestion new users would gravitate to the big circle. Thus making it the "default". But maybe it's different when looking outside of lemmy instances to the wider fediverse.

My limited knowledge and time force me to certain distros. Some of my stuff only works on EOS, others only on Mint.
It's easier to install another distro than spend another hour troubleshooting. I know "just read the wiki" but sometimes we don't have the skills, imagine a neckbeard trying to "just have a shower, and get out the basement".
It makes it even more tempting to move back to Windows where I can just plug and play. But I'm forcing myself not to. ... Well that and Win11 isn't supported.
And re things not working. I'll not even a gamer with special hardware. Just use it for web browsing and citrix for WFH.

I'm new to Linux and use Endeavor OS. Its Arch BTW so everything I do I just look up the Arch Wiki.
Endeavour comes with KDEPlasma, or you can pick others. It also has basic applications like Firefox and media players. But nothing in the way of office etc.
I think Manjaro is similar but deviates from arch a bit.

For me it's the wiki. Arch just explaining so simply. Searching an issue for LMDE just lead to forums. And the Debian or Ubuntu wikis don't seem as good as arch.
Plus must searches for <other distro> issue seem to lead to forums and random "run this code". All arch searches led back to the Wiki. All hail the wiki.
But srsly. I feel like I'm LEARNING Linux with arch. Rather than just running fixes for the other distros.

Try onshape. I learnt fusion last year though YT and playing around for 3D prints.
Its fine but a bit of overkill. Onshape has just enough support that a search for "how to do X" takes you to the wiki or official forum, and boom. Answer.
It also seems more initiative and just gets out of the way, compared to fusion.
No idea if its just coz I learnt fusion first though.
I tried solid works but nothing clicled for me with that.

What's your recipe, ratios and wait times. I use a press to do cold brew. Every time I try it for a hot cup it tastes a bit "dirty" or earthy to me, plus by the time it steeps its not as hot as I'd like.

This. In my recent experience on one laptop. Arch (Endevour OS btw) installed fine.
But LMDE would not boot. I got a system disk missing error every time after install. So much playing with EUFI settings in BIOS, boot back to live disl, multiple re installs, GRUB repair, remake the ISO (ISO was fine, installed on another PC with no issues). Gave up. Just could not boot to the OS.
Install normal mint. No issues.
And past the install? Bluetooth dongle works fine on arch, but so many issues on mint.
WiFi dongle A works on arch, but not mint. WiFI dongle B dosenr work on arch but does work on mint. Took me a while to work thst one out.
Headphpnes have some weird echo back to me when mic is on. Use pipewire config from archwiki. Worked, but reduced qualoty. Tried a few other configs. Didn't work. Must have broke something coz now the original config dosnt work. So will just deal with echo.
0 of these issues on windows. And 0 likely your regular user can easily swap to Linux.
Will stay on arch tho. Fuck spez windows.

I'm looking for a way to browse YT or find creators I might like. In the long run I'd like to use YT like my podcasts. Thst is, play the new content daily/weekly form people I follow rather than mindlessly scrolling the algorithm. With most podcast apps I can just see categories and go through the top creators in each category. Along with seeing how often content is posted. This way I can also check out other random categories and find content outside what is normally like. Searching YT just gets all the clickbate and my algorithm is pretty rubbish. Im using Tubular and SmartTube, but perhaps there is a website or other way to find creators?

Use voyager or some of the other apps that are just web wrapper's. https://lemmyapps.netlify.app/
Is related to the F1 guy? Or the AIR bnb dog?
I'm sure there are channels that run similar to Public TV. They may post a regular show, or a variety of shows. Maybe web-series is the word to use. They must be of decent quality and updated within the last 6 months. I'm know not looking for documentaries, essay videos, pranks, reviews or vlogs. And not 1-2 people going around doing whatever, or a group of people that sit with a static backdrop chatting or pulling up graphics. I'm looking for funny game shows, dating shows, reality tv, sit coms, drama, variety shows, comedy or anything that would be similar to flicking through over the air TV (but not jsut shows copied from TV). Written with dyslexia ✍️🙃.
I've got a few accounts on my phone, and the calanders are set up to sync. When I look in the outlook app I can see the outlook events as expected. When I use the Samsung Calender app (preferred), the Google Calander app, or any other Calander apps the outlook Calander has issues. Some events appear, others don't, some seem to disappear etc. I think it's to do with android and the syncing of the Calander, but I'm not sure what. I've used the reset account button in the outlook app, and deleted and re-added the account. _Written with dyslexia._
Not sure what's going on here. But it's the only app listed that is constantly using a sensor.
Is it possible to set the local button to show another instance? Ideally when signed in but I'd also be happy to swap to a guest/anonymous account. It saves having to make many instance logins. And I think it's voyager that allows this. Good work and cheers
