Pretty boring tbh. In typical American fashion it's not enough to be a story about surviving this force of nature and working around it because it ends with them "taming" a tornado by shooting rockets into at and using super absorbent materials to somehow dissipate it. There was also a side story about a land developer using storm chasers to buy up properties that have been hit by tornadoes, but it seemed weirdly muted and cut down, like it was edited out or something. You get a couple scenes of one of the storm chasers talking about making offers on property and one of the main character searching the land developer online but nothing really comes of it and they don't mention it at all after the climax. There was the kernel of an interesting story if they had maybe delved into this capitalist taking advantage of natural disasters in order to monopolize all the land in tornado alley but they obviously didn't go that route. All-in-all there was very little tension, even when there was a massive twister coming at them the main characters could somehow always ride it out in their modified product placement-mobile I was also annoyed at the complete inconsistency regarding what would be thrown by a tornado and what can resist it. The same tornado dragged a streetcar across town and threw a pump jack into a water tower, but the product placement pickup truck with trailer somehow managed to resist being almost at the heart of the tornado without being catapulted hundreds of feet into the air.

Dunno if this is off topic, mods feel free to delete if it is, but I picked up a laptop that's a couple years old that needs a fan replacement. I've done a little googling but it's not clear which part(s) I need, where I could buy it, and if it would even be cost-effective to replace anyway. I can post pics/more info in a couple hours, but in the meantime could anyone point me in the right direction where I can buy laptop fans or a guide on figuring out which fan I would need? Late night, slept in, etc Feeling better, though with march and two death anniversaries coming up that will most likely change. Still sticking to the exercising though, it helps me clear my head an refocus things. Back to 30 minutes at 22ish strokes/min, otherwise that's all I have to report. Slept in today but when I (eventually) rolled out of bed I got right to my 30 minutes of rowing! It's looking like winter might actually make an appearance so biking to and from school might be off the table until it melts, but I'll gladly take that if I can savour an increasingly rare walk in the snow.

I'm really happy with sustaining 30 minutes a day, and it's looking like I'll be able to start biking more places thanks to climate change (no snow in February is freaking me out) but at least I can get some outside activity in before the wildfire smoke season starts up! I deliberated over restarting the count vs just picking up where I left off, I decided I'll just continue where I left off since I'm the one doing these posts and I'm mad with power. Also I did get some hiking in over the weekend and was lucky enough to see some cool birds including a hawk that flew right by me!

Got to bed late last night (the joys of working in the evenings) but I got up this morning and did 20 minutes of rowing with only a couple quick water breaks. Slowing down my stroke is going to make it a lot more sustainable I feel. My issue with rowing is that you have to stop to drink water, unlike treadmill or biking where you can just slow down but keep moving. But otherwise I much prefer rowing to running, and stationary bikes don't feel the same as just riding my bike.

I tried out slowing down to a more steady pace today, ended up doing my 20 minutes without a break! (other than stopping briefly to drink some water) I'm already noticing differences since I started, the first few days my core was pretty sore but now that's gone completely!

I didn't get my workout done this morning since my dog chose today to cuddle but after class I hit the rower for 20 minutes! Comrade [@Assian_Candor@hexbear.net](https://hexbear.net/u/Assian_Candor) gave me some excellent advice regarding pacing and avoiding burning out too early which I'm looking forward to implementing in my next workouts! I'm in this for the long haul, I've spent too much of my life out of shape and I don't want to have the health issues that comes from being over weight and not exercising Until tomorrow!

Had a full night's sleep and hit the rower for 20 minutes. I think one of the bigger stumbling blocks right now is lack of a good workout playlist. So far I've been listening to the basic ol' reliable 80s montage music (Eye of the Tiger, Holding Out For A Hero, Gunna Fly Now, Best Around, etc) but I'm looking to mix it up so please, any suggestions/recommendations would be welcome!

Didn't get home till midnight last night and had to rush to throw together a Russian presentation this morning (went great, only made two grammatical mistakes!) so I didn't get to exercise first thing in the morning, but I got to it as soon as I got home and did a solid 20 minutes on the rower! I'm feeling better and better about it, taking fewer breaks, and I think my next goal is to hit a minimum of 20 minutes a day! See y'all tomorrow!
