I haven't seen them all, but I told everyone in my circle to please watch The Amazing Maurice. It's a good adaptation, not a great one, but if enough people would go and watch it legally, there's a higher chance more adaptations will come and it could be a win for all.
Please give The Amazing Maurice a chance. He only needs one. Or two.

Radish with a yoghurt dip, yum! That was my friend's child's favourite food when she was 3 and I basically learned to love it from the baby.

Bojack Horseman. They managed to wrap it up in a neat-ish way, but I do believe that the show would have benefited from having one more season to delve into Bojack's issues with his father (they've covered his mother).

Maybe they seem to go bad quickly because there's no added preservative :D Having said that, I made this Korean marinade two weeks ago - gochujang, garlic, chili peppers, an apple, soy sauce. I put it in a jar and we haven't been using it as much as we could. I've been expecting it to go bad, ferment, or grow mould for a while, but it's still good. I think it's all the salt acting as preservative? I really don't know.

It's all the additives to these otherwise quite wholesome ingredients that make them less healthy and not as nutritionally dense as they should be. McDonald's burgers are not JUST meat, bread, and some veggies unfortunately.

If that fits your nutritional needs, by all means. Just watch the salt content. I get enough calcium, iron, and fat from other sources. Also want to clarify, food is chemicals, everything is chemicals. What did you mean by other chemicals?

It's not a bad thing, isn't it. I think the goal should be that the whole world is stable enough that no one is worried about their next meal and everyone has the privilege to ruminate about gender.

Here's my favourite salad: Juice two oranges and half a lemon, put in a big bowl. Thinly slice three apples, immediately put the slices in the bowl with the citrus juice. Grate 1 cm of ginger if you like it, mix in. Add in cooked beluga lentils, however much you want. It stays crisp for about three days in a good fridge. I tend to use a mandolin to slice the apples, so they're chip sized - smaller pieces get soggy quicker.
It's also great as a side dish.

I guess it depends on where you live and your shop's supplier. In Germany, they're often processed like sausage, produced in factories and delivered frozen to the shops. I'm not totally against processed meat or factory made food, but they don't fit in my nutritional goals. I also generally don't eat a lot of meat.

As a rule, I don't compare tragedies by the number of bodies, but I agree with you. It's distasteful, but it is what it is.
It reminds me of the devastating floods in Pakistan that got some attention for sure, but nothing compared to the billions of dollars that was donated within hours of the Notre Dame fire.

There's a big chance they've all passed out from lack of oxygen by the time this happened. It's instant death either way.

But he runs away and towards interesting times and dangerous situations. The most relatable hero, that man. Who wouldn't run away when confronted by the kind of things he run into.

Fat is not necessarily unhealthy. The "healthy" qualifier is too subjective here, as everyone has different needs and nutritional goals.

It's a lot of salt, processed meat, and the salad bar at a normal kebab shop is not filled with nutrient dense vegetables. If it's me, I'd eat it as a takeaway and spread the meat over three days' worth of meals and up the nutrient content with broccoli and nuts.

Classic! Long time Chef John's subscriber here. I was there before his channel and "his brand" was partnered with Allrecipes.com
As to his lilting speech - you're right, it used to be less pronounced, but over time it became part of his brand and it's just so entertaining. I love the cadence, love the "you are after all the (rhyming word) of your (foodstuff)". He has great recipes, perfect for every day meals, this chisaupepo, for example, is in heavy rotation in my household.

Maybe because most people are wary of giving something that might induce an eating disorder. Having said that, I've tried only consuming clear liquids for 4 days in a safe, controlled environment. I was cranky and thinking about solid food the whole time, basically planning my first meal to break the fast. But I survived with no lasting health consequences.

Dios. What a dark figure saddled with a dark fate. He's basically cursed to live the same life over and over again, no wonder he's insane. I think the implication is that he created all the Djelibeybian gods, and the reason these gods existed at all were because they were the ones that were always recreated by Dios. His staff of a snake eating its own tail is apt.

Is it possibly because I came over from lemmy.world?
I do like The Last Continent! To me, the level of absurd hijinks there is about the same as Going Postal - not my favourite, but it seems to be beloved. There were more posts talking about the exploits of Moist anyway. Now, why is that? Is it the case, that Moist von Lipwig has a lot of vocal fans and Rincewind, our early hero, is not as popular anymore?

Someone compared Pterry's ability to mould language to Shakespeare, if only I remember where I heard or read this comparison.
I have recency bias with The Colour of Magic, reread it fairly recently and it's quite brilliant, although the first 10-15 pages were difficult to get through because they were somehow opaque. So many characters I just met talking to each other and about each other, and it was often unclear to me who or what they were talking about. Then Twoflower arrived and saved it.
