Patch Notes v2.43 https://www.rocketleague.com/en/news/patch-notes-v2-43

Version: Rocket League v2.43 **Platforms**: Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S **Scheduled Release**: 9/3/2024, 4 p.m. PDT / 11 p.m. UTC # THE HEADLINES * Changes to the Demolition Camera and Audio. * We’ll post additional Patch Notes when Season 16 begins on 9/4/2024 at 8 a.m. PDT / 3 p.m. UTC. # CHANGES AND UPDATES **Demolition Camera Changes** * After a demolition, the camera now flies from where you were demolished to your respawn point. * The camera shows your respawn position before your car respawns, giving you a chance to see what’s happening around you before rejoining the match. * During this window, you can move the camera around to view your surroundings. * **Demo Transition Time**: Under Settings -> Camera, a new Demo Transition Time setting lets you adjust how fast the camera flies from where you were demolished to your respawn point. * Default setting is 0.75 seconds. * You can adjust this setting from 0.00 (a snap transition) to 1.00 seconds. * A shorter transition time places the camera on your respawn point for longer. * A longer transition time gives you a better view of the field before spawning in. * Adjusting the slider does not affect how long the demolished state lasts, only when the camera moves. **Demolition Audio** * Raised the volume of the “ping” noise when a teammate is demolished. * Learn more about the demolition audio change we made in v2.40 [here](https://www.rocketleague.com/en/news/patch-notes-v2-40). * Volume for this audio cue is still tied to the Gameplay slider under Settings -> Audio. # NEW CONTENT **General** * Updated artwork for the following 2 songs * Solomon France - "Magazine (feat. RIENK)" * Solomon France & Hailure - "Crisis" * Updated the logo for Dirtyphonics' Antenna **Tournament Rewards** * Two previous Tournament Reward items recently made their way into the Shop by mistake. In v2.43, players who earned these items as Tournament Rewards will receive new variants of these items. * Players who earned the 'Breakout: Ombre' Decal will receive the 'Breakout: No Way Ombre' Decal * Players who earned the 'X-Devil: Grim Weeper' Decal will receive the 'X-Devil: Grim Mistake' Decal # BUG FIXES * Fixed the “Front Row” Rocket Boost having no SFX when viewed in-game. * Fixed the Werewolf and Diestro Black Painted Car Bodies not cross-granting from Fortnite into Rocket League for owners of these Car Bodies. * Fixed McLaren 765LT Painted Wheel variants not cross-granting from Fortnite into Rocket League for owners of this Car Body. * Fixed text chat defaulting to Off, preventing text chat from functioning. * Fixed the tag denoting paint color or certification being off-centered when previewing the item in the Item Shop. * Fixed Default Decals not unlocking after obtaining the BMW M240i Body. * Fixed Boost Nameplates Indicator being cut off on longer Nameplates. * \[Steam/EGS/Xbox/PlayStation] Fixed corrupt grass texture behind the user's body when driving around Farmstead: Pitched Arena. # KNOWN ISSUES **For a complete list of known issues in Rocket League,** [go here](https://www.rocketleague.com/news/known-issues-in-rocket-league/)**.**

How would you train basic car control?

Hi there, I have a lot of hours in rocket league and no mechanics to speak off. I want to start improving by improving the most basic "mechanics" which would be ground car and ball control. I am shocked at how bad I am at those and blame it on my age (46) and lack of talent but I think I can still improve. Do you have any tipps, training packs, videos you would suggest? I mainly play Twos (D1) and Ones (P1) two improve. I really like Flakes approach to focus on the game rather then on the mechanics, but as I said before I simply lack the consistent basics. I have the workshop maps, Aim training - by Coco and Noob Dribble by DMC.

What do you guys think about the Young Money ban?

I'm interested in knowing some other thoughts of the ban. 1 year for match throwing. I've seen some pros saying that they shouldn't have had to do that, so it's the format's fault. What do you think?

I have had rocket league for 3 years and have no idea what xp is or what seasons are

Not that I'm asking, I just think its funny the game jams all this stuff in my face when its so irrelevant. The only thing I've ever bought was a fennec body and I literally couldn't buy it from psyonox, I had to get it from a trader.

RL update frequency and size on linux

I recently reinstalled RL after not playing for 2 years, running Linux for my gaming pc these days. Almost every time I open up steam, there's a multi gigabyte rocket league update. Is that normal? Can I play without updating every time?

Game crashing often? Disconnect Post Party

I run a stupid setup, for sure. intel arc graphics card, windows 10 under a vm (with passthrough). The game runs pretty well for the most part, but every other intel GPU update curses the game - I lose connection and crash 2-3 minutes into a match. Sometimes an update to the drivers would fix it, but another update would break it. When it was working OK I noticed midway through the game my FPS would jump down to 0 for a couple seconds and I will see “clipping is not available at this time” despite me not hitting any buttons to trigger this. well, my most recent driver update makes rocket league crash each game so I disconnected post party. without even closing the game and reopening, suddenly the issue was gone. all matches play normally now. I see lots of folks losing connection midway through a match so I hope this helps. postparty is hot garbage.

Last Call of the Season

There's only a week or so left! If anybody wants to party up to try to climb just a little further, DM me. I think I'm Diamond 1 in 2s and plat 2 or 3 in 3s, but with a teammate who meshes with me I can do much better. Everybody well above or well below my rank, put your rank down so others can try to find a buddy or two as well. With player trading coming to an end, I guess this could also be a last call for trades.

First Look: Play Menu Changes Coming to Rocket League www.rocketleague.com

Hey all! We wanted to give you an early look at some incoming changes to ***Rocket League’s Play Menu*** next Season. To start, the Play Menu is getting a facelift for the first time since Rocket League became playable for free in 2020. Featuring a new squared-off design, each submenu will have a streamlined layout which will help old and new players alike navigate through the Play Menu easier and more quickly. ![New Play Menu 2023](https://rocketleague.media.zestyio.com/play_menu_16x9.jpg) *Not final version - for illustration only* Along with a fresh look, we are changing where some Online Playlists and other modes live in the new Play Menu. We are combining Competitive Playlists and Extra Modes Playlists into one new **Competitive** card, which allows you to queue for up to **six** different Competitive Playlists at once. Fulfilling a long-standing community request, you will finally be able to queue for modes like 3v3 Standard and 2v2 Hoops at the same time. As part of this consolidation, we are going to alternate between Competitive Snow Day and Dropshot each Season. Next Season will feature Competitive Snow Day, the one after that will include Competitive Dropshot, and so on. ![New Play Menu 2023 - Competitive Card](https://rocketleague.media.zestyio.com/play_menu_competitive_16x9.jpg) *Not final version - for illustration only.* Big changes are coming to the **Casual** card as well, including two new **Arcade Playlists**. These will rotate weekly through Extra Modes like Heatseeker, Spike Rush, Rocket Labs modes, and more! Dropshot and Snow Day will also appear in the Arcade rotation whenever one is not an active Competitive Playlist, so expect to see Dropshot pop up next Season. Along with these new Playlists, 4v4 Chaos is evolving into a new **Big Party Playlist**, rotating weekly between 4v4 Chaos and Knockout. ![New Play Menu 2023 - Casual Card](https://rocketleague.media.zestyio.com/play_menu_casual_16x9.jpg) *Not final version - for illustration only.* Exhibition Mode, Season Mode, and Workshop Maps will now live in their own **Play Offline** card, and the new **Private Match** card contains both Private Match and LAN Match options. **Training** has all the same options you know and love, just with an updated look. Finally, we’re making a few additional quality-of-life changes to the Play Menu: - You can join an existing Private Match directly from Training or an Offline Match. - Load and launch a different Workshop map when in a Workshop map already. - When in a party, you can now see your Rank even when you are not the Party Leader. While this covers what you should expect alongside the next Season, we’re not quite done with changes and additions to the Play Menu. Our goal in the first few months of 2024 is to give you even more influence over the modes that appear in the Arcade Playlist, which we’ll talk about more in the new year. Along with new, different ways to play, we’re actively working on other quality-of-life improvements that touch on important community-driven topics, including smurfing and skill placement improvements. As we drive towards the next Rocket League Season and an exciting holiday season, expect to hear more on these changes and improvements in 2024. Thanks, everyone!

Removing Player-to-Player Trading in December www.rocketleague.com

Player-to-Player Trading will be removed from ***Rocket League*** on December 5 at 4 p.m. PST. We’re making this change to align with Epic’s overall approach to game cosmetics and item shop policies, where items aren’t tradable, transferrable, or sellable. This opens up future plans for some Rocket League vehicles to come to other Epic games over time, supporting cross-game ownership.   # ***FAQ*** Q: **What do I do with my duplicate or unwanted items?** A: The Trade-In system for Core Items, Tournament Items, and Blueprints will allow players to continue trading in eligible duplicate or unwanted items to receive a random new item of higher rarity. Q: **What if I lent someone an item?** A: These actions are not supported by Psyonix and all trades are considered final. Our support team cannot help reverse trades. Q: **What about third-party trading websites or servers?** A: After December 5, there will be no way to trade items with any player or between accounts. Websites or servers advertising such services are fraudulent and have no connection to Psyonix or Epic Games. Q: **Will this undo any trades I’ve made in the past?** A: No, you will not lose any previously traded items when Player-to-Player Trading is removed on December 5.

Rocket League need help odysee.com

Hello everyone, I’m relatively new to Rocket League, with only about 500 hours played so far… In 2s, I’m currently ranked Diamond 2, and I can’t seem to progress any further… Recently, I read a report that 1s might help with that. So, here’s my very first ranked 1v1 match! Do you have any tips on where I need to improve to finally reach Champion?

Smurfs only in the evening?

I wonder if others also have this feeling that during evenings smurfs are more prominent. I’m silver 3 for some time and when I play during lunchtime I win all the games. Not super easily but I win them. Then I go up in ranking and in the evening when I play again I see a drastic increase of skill in my opponents. Which makes me barely win or loose and then I go down again few slots. I have to say it’s quite annoying and I consider not playing competitive any more during late hours to finally be able to jump to gold.

Fun Team Names?

Whether it's a club name, club tag, or tournament name, what are some interesting names you've used or seen? My friends and I recently played a tournament and somehow won with the name Socialist Jiu Jitsu. Our club name is Aunt Tifa. We used the club tag [BLM] for a while, but the amount of racism in the text chat was exhausting, so now it's just [ANTI]. It was pretty entertaining to get people tilted and then silently dunk on them, but the toxicity wasn't fun most of the time.

2/3 of our champ1 MMR matches have a GC in the opposing team. Not just 1 or 2; consistently. What happened?

So the 2 guys I usually play with are champ2 and dia3-champ1 level. I'm also champ1. NONE of us were ever in GC, not for a single match. We play 2v2s and 3v3s, depending on who's available. This season we got absurd amount of GCs in our matches. Both 2v2 and 3v3, but 3v3 seemed even more infested with GC titles. Interestingly, whenever they actually say something about their rank, they say they are GCs in another game mode, or that they played a long time ago. But most of them still do stuff that we have never been able to, and the rest is just as bad as us, or even worse (which isn't too rare). But this many "GC in another mode" players, suddenly, out of thin air? What happened suddenly? Before this season, seeing a GC title in our games was definitely a rarity. We saw ~2-3 every season, and that was pretty much it. Whenever we ran into one before, they actually played like a GC and they hard carried their suspiciously clueless teammates. This season GC matches are more abundant than the ones without. Is it because the player numbers are falling so hard that Psyonix resorted to widening the matchmaking search, allowing significantly better (or worse) players to match against us, just to keep the waiting times low? Now that I think of it, as many GCs we get against us, we definitely don't see just as many clueless opponents. If it's not the waiting time, then why did matchmaking change so drastically? Is it boosting? Because that didn't just happen overnight between the two seasons. What do you think? EDIT: People starting ranked at a lower rank than what they had in the previous season also can't be the reason, since we would also be somewhere in low diamond then; it's the middle of the season, so I doubt THIS many people whould start their freshly deranked season now.

After 2.5 years, I can actually air roll entire maps (rings and speed trials)

I have somewhere between 1500-2000 hours in the game, never worked hard on air rolling but as I cracked C3 and hit GC1 briefly I realized I needed to rededicate myself to learning this or there was no point to grinding ranked. So I had a basic understanding of air rolling, and as I said I sort of practiced it here and there over the past couple years but the thing that always stopped me was how incredibly hard and confusing it is. It’s very easy to get deflated when you don’t see basically any gradual progress like you would with, say, a moderately difficult training pack. Air rolling just isn’t something our brains are wired to naturally do. So you have to brute force it. I think much better workshops could be designed around this. Rings maps are not a good way to learn this mech AT ALL. Rings maps are for people who can already air roll. I have zero skills to make something like this, nor do I have the time really, but a rings training wherethe first level is one gigantic ring about ten times the size of Leth’s rings. You just have to air roll up to it at a 45 degree angle. Second level adds a second ring a ways behind the first, so now you just have to stay level. Third level third ring drops down a bit. And so on. Eventually maybe after the first 20 levels the rings shrink a bit. Then again after 20 more levels. And so on. That way you can actually see your progress. If you don’t know how to air roll at all, and it takes you awhile to get past the first few levels, then a week or two later you can get to level 15 or whatever, that’s helpful. Leths ring map is cool but it didn’t teach me shit except that I started playing this game about 6 years too late. The speed trials are much better, speed trials 1 is how I brute force taught myself. But touching a single pixel of a wall and immediately dying is also NOT helpful. Anyway, how many hours in the game do you have, what rank are you, and how proficient are you at air rolling?
