Suicide Prevention www.helpguide.org

Because it's a serious topic and very important to me. In addition to providing support for people who are suffering from depression. In the last years, I have noticed that many people are having way too much fun with stalking, cyberbullying, defamation, spreading falsity, agitation, etc., encouraging depression and suicides instead of fighting against it. That makes the issue even more significant.

Fapsi.be Shutdown

cross-posted from: https://fapsi.be/post/188396 > Since known bullying instances like mastodon.art, tenforward.social, hackers.town, artisan.chat, cloudisland.nz, rage.love, szmer.info, mstdn.social, stop.voring.me, eldritch.cafe, cultofshiv.wtf, weirder. earth, social.cosmick9.net, and their stupid lemmings continue to run lies and hate-speech against me, and now at Mastodon the possibility is given to blindly import any blocklists from these narcissistic sociopaths with their beloved #FediBlock bullshit, I don't see any valid point in contributing to Fediverse anymore and will concentrate on other things. > > Therefore, I will shutdown fapsi.be without replacement at the end of February.

Writing prompt: Swapping Russia for USA and Ukraine for mexico

The buildup: US. annexes Baja California seizing it from Mexico. Starts funneling military grade weapons to Mexican drug cartels. Drug cartels form their own little zone and call it a republic. US. accuses Mexico of terrorizing said area. Declares that all Mexicans are fascists/nationalists and invades them. America declares that Latin Spanish is not a real language and that Mexians are not a real ethnicity, being simply European colonists. Trump is mysterious poisoned but survives. President Biden calls for return of “historically American” Ciudad Juarez and Baja California and claims Mexico is a product of the Confederacy. Feb 2022: Calls for "partial mobilisation of national Guard"... Millions flee to Canada and Cuba. Drafts disproportional high enough of minorities. Receiving sweeping support from incel internet communists as anti-imperialist action. c/genBlyat is created. Mar: Proud Boys shoot their National Guard recruiter for taking away their freedoms The USAF can’t fly more than a dozen miles beyond their own lines without getting shot down. A-10s are dropping like flies. Tomahawks land in random suburbs and shopping malls, sometimes failing to detonate. April: Joe Biden makes vague threats of Nuclear retaliation. May; M4 Sherman tanks from WW2 and M47 Patton tanks from Korea are being pulled out of museums to be put in to service due to so many m48 Sherman tanks from Korea being destroyed or captured. June; Mexico hits National Guard armories as far in as NorCal with rockets July; Spray paints Ь on all equipment (Ь for Ьig tiddy goth gf) Aug; Canadian munitions with recent manufacture dates found in Mexican artillery depots. Sept; Russian today report that US troops continually finding that their body armor has been replaced with rusty sheet steel, their helmets are made of tin and can be punched in like a soda can, and their rations expired years ago. New recruits have to bring their own footwear and are spotted in worn out tennis shoes instead of combat boots. US communications don’t work, so troops steal walkie-talkies from the local Mexican Walmart equivalent to be able to coordinate, but Mexican militia and army can hear everything they’re transmitting. Oct; Joe Biden throws Lloyd Austin off the roof of the white house. Nov; The US acquires loitering munitions from the Philippines.

The life and tale of u/Alice: Lemmy's first anime hero

Took the news and creatively wrote it cross-posted from: https://lemmy.perthchat.org/post/213636 > Alice washed up on the shores of lemmy.ml with no memory. Little did Alice know about the adventure that awaited him. > > His voyage of discovery took him to many sublemmies. Upon seeing another soul, he would eagerly run up to them and would ask the most basic questions imaginable. Generally anime adventurers make friends along the way, but not our hero. For what our hero lacked in intelligence and charisma, he made up for with low self control. His incessant questioning eventually got him the booted from a good many towns (sublemmies). > > Tiring of constant wandering, he cried to the heavens: "In this cruel world, is my destiny controlled by some transcendental god? Well I reject you! I reject you all!" > > He planted a flag on a remote island and declared it "askwomen". In order to attract women to his island, he made sure to emblazon the flag with a corset, to the chagrin of all. > > Alice was smited yet again as the gods ban hammered him from lemmy.ml. > > Through sheer power of will, Alice began to travel through the lemmyverse seeking power. Lemmy.ca - banned. Perthchat.org - trapped in the maze of 'registration questionnaire'. Lemmygrad - smited. Sopuli.xyz - hit by a train. Mander.xyz - arrow to the knee. Beehaw - bleach tranq dart. > > The forsaken furry, u/wolfballer, seeing our protagonist's plight, welcomed Alice out of pity. Never has Alice found himself surrounded by trumpian furries. Never has Alice felt so at home. > Wolfballer, impressed by the impulse posting, gave Alice more power than he ever dreamt off: Administrator. > > With the energy of 1000 communists flowing through him, Alice rejoiced and redoubled his posting efforts. > > But alas, it was all a cruel joke. > > Wolfballer swept the rug. Kicked the ankle. Put a stick in the spokes. Wolfballer gave Alice a taste of power, a taste of friendship, only to take it away. With a cackle and a snort, Wolfballer revealed his trap card: that he was planning to close wolfballs all along. > > "Any last words?" Smirked wolfballer as he held Alice by the neck over the 404 void. "Out of spite i'm going to get the covid vaccination" began Alice. Wolfballer frowned and released his grip on Alice furry collar. "I'm going to get the covid vaxx and shove it up your mangy..." screamed Alice as he fell, final words consumed by the void. > > To be continued in part 2: Alice; maximum carnage > > # disclaimers; > > I'm sure alice irl is a fine upstanding gentleman and just is on the internet to trash post > > I don't remember the smaller details like, exact order of which instances alice joined. But the general story beats are factually correct (alice getting banned, dumb questions, becoming wolfballs admin) > > Cast: > > wolfballer = u/masterofballs. Wolfballs is an trumpian antivax instance. > > u/Alice = reddit.com/u/Karlor_Gaylord_Cries = u/pink-lacey = u/TimothyMcFuck. I am 90% certain of all of these. > > 2009 xi jing shortened edition, > [perthchat news](https://news.perthchat.org/) publishing inc. CC0

Creative writing piece on fedidrama - u/Goosefetish sacrificed to the lemmygrad blood god https://lemmy.ml/u/goosefetisch

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.perthchat.org/post/79532 > There was a 200+ incantations across 2 threads ([1]( https://lemmy.ml/post/417095) and [2](https://lemmy.ml/post/418487?scrollToComments=true)) in asklemmy. > > Historians are torn on the exact date the catrina-stalagmite rapture began, but popular consensus considers this event to be the start. The ritual began with The Pope of Banishment catr-stag crying: "Comrades! I comment for the algorithm, may more of us see this insanity and come to our aid!" > > This marked the first on record brigading on the Lemmyverse. Legions of catr-stag's loyal lemmygrad followers emerged from the shadows and surrounded Goose. They began chanting incantations. > > Goose was never seen again and his body was never found. > > His epitaph reads: > > "Friend to all > > You're a friend to everyone you meet. Friends and family come first to you, and you're always there to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on. Your legacy is defined by the lives you've affected." > > He was succeeded by a wife, 3 children and 2 ducks. > > A public memorial service will follow.

Adult fiction seems to just be fiction that has detailed sex scenes. Is there a genre of fiction that's about serious adult topics that isn't sex scenes?

I'm not really interested in sex scenes, but I am interested in other topics that might not be suitable for like teen books or fiction or whatnot. Does the genre I'm looking for have some kind of name?

Why is there so little cryptocurrency in fiction?

You'd think cryptocurrency would appear more in fiction considering how popular it is irl. So instead of cyberpunk, have cryptopunk? Which sounds like cyberpunk written by a hedge fund manager with 1.5 million in bitcoin irl. inb4 crypto bros dont read books. But crypto bros do play video games right? Not sure if this is the right sub for this, let me know!

Do your characters go through anything you don't have experience with (eg. grief, marriage, childbirth/parenting, job loss, moving, etc.) or do you avoid those things? If you deal with them in your writing, how do you tack things you don't have personal experience with?

Lemmy Release v0.14.0: Federation with Mastodon and Pleroma 🥳 github.com

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ml/post/89740 > Today is an exciting day for the Lemmy project. > > Almost one year after [first enabling federation](https://lemmy.ml/post/42833), we now federate with other projects for the first time! According to some people's definition, this finally makes us part of the Fediverse. > > It took a lot of work to make this possible, so big thanks to [NLnet](https://nlnet.nl/) for funding our full time work on Lemmy, and to [@lanodan](https://queer.hacktivis.me/users/lanodan) and [@asonix](https://masto.asonix.dog/@asonix) for helping to figure out how Pleroma and Mastodon federation works (it's difficult because they have almost no documentation). > > > ## Major Changes > > ### Federation code rewrite > > The rewrite of the federation code started by @nutomic in August is now mostly complete. As a result, the code is much cleaner, and has tests to guarantee no breaking changes between Lemmy versions. As a side effect of this rewrite, it was now relatively easy to enable federation with other projects. > > Mastodon and Pleroma users can: > > - View Lemmy communities, user profiles, posts and comments > - Follow Lemmy communities to receive new posts and comments > - Replies (mentions) work in both directions, including notifications > > In addition, Pleroma users can exchange private messages with Lemmy users. > > Note that Pleroma and Mastodon rely on a compatibility mode in Lemmy, which means that they won't receive events like Deletes or Votes. Other projects whose federation works similar to Pleroma/Mastodon will likely also federate. > > ### Hardcoded slur filter removed > > Lemmy finally has essential moderation tools (reporting, user/community blocking), so the hardcoded filter isn't necessary anymore. If you want to keep using the slur filter, copy [these lines](https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/blob/b18ea3e0cc620c3f97f9804c09b92f193809b846/config/config.hjson#L8-L12) to your config file when upgrading, and adjust to your liking. > > ## Upgrade notes > > Federation with Pleroma/Mastodon works automatically, you don't need to change anything, assuming that your allowlist/blocklist configuration permits it. > > Note that Mastodon and Pleroma are much, much bigger than Lemmy at this point, with a combined 3 milion users and 4500 instances, compared to 20.000 users and 35 instances for Lemmy ([source](https://the-federation.info/)). The existing mod tools in Lemmy might not be adequate to handle that at the moment. > > Be aware that if you have federation enabled in the Lemmy config, Mastodon and Pleroma users can now fetch all posts and comments, to view them and share with their followers. The Lemmy blocklist/allowlist can not prevent this, it only prevents posts/comments from blocked instances to be shown on your own instance. The only solution to this problem is disabling federation, or waiting for [signed fetch](https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/868) to be implemented. > > If you want to use federation, but review new instances before federating with them, use the allowlist. You can switch from open federation to allowlist federation by pasting the output of the command below into `federation.allowed_instances` in the Lemmy config. > > ``` > curl https://your-instance.com/api/v3/site | jq -c .federated_instances.linked > ``` > > The [`lemmy.hjson` `additional_slurs` field has changed its name to `slur_filter`. ](https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/blob/b18ea3e0cc620c3f97f9804c09b92f193809b846/config/config.hjson#L8-L12) > > Follow the [Docker or Ansible upgrade instructions here.](https://join-lemmy.org/docs/en/administration/administration.html) > > ## Lemmy-Ansible > > We've now separated our ansible install method (the preferred way to deploy Lemmy) into its own repo, [lemmy-ansible](https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ansible). Let us know if you need help migrating existing installations over to it. > > ## Changes > > ### API > > - There is now a `GetUnreadCount` in the API to check the count of your unread messages, replies, and mentions. > - A full list of the API changes can be seen on this diff of [lemmy-js-client: 0.13.0 -> 0.14.0-rc.1](https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-js-client/compare/0.13.0...0.14.0-rc.1) . > > ### Lemmy Server > > - More federation compat ([#1894](https://github.com/LemmyNet/Lemmy/issues/1894)) > - Adding clippy:unwrap to husky. Dealing with haters

For a few months now, I've been dealing with bullies who not only badmouth my English but also blast out claims like "his one-dimensional characters" or "... which lusts for her mother" into the world of Twitter and elsewhere. I don't know what's going on in those puny buns, what they call brains, but they definitely haven't read what I write when they make such false allegations. How would you deal with such idiots?

Laws when publishing private and personal information https://support.bka.li/knowledgebase.php?article=4

I wrote down some experiences I collected in my lawsuit against some bullying artists on Twitter who published screenshots of direct messages, emails, and discord chats with me on Twitter with a diatribe directed against me. I also want to share my experiences with you all, so if such a case happens to you, too, you may already know what you can do against something like this. Please be careful when you upload screenshots of direct messages. Because my stalker and bullies rejected the cease and desist letter from my lawyer, the whole case is in a five-digit penalty range for the bullies! Handle other data the same way you want your data to be handled, even if you're one of the "nothing to hide" people. There is also a German version available linked on top of the document.
