A bevy of updates to the Saturn core of the MiSTer FPGA have targeted problems with specific games' graphics. One prominent one that was fixed recently was Cotton 2, whose VDP2-drawn backgrounds were reported in January as having problems. "I've seen that srg320 is workin

BlueRetro: Open source and low latency multiplayer Bluetooth controllers adapter for retro video game consoles github.com

Saw these on MyLifeInGaming last night and it looks like a cool open hardware project so I thought I'd post it here. BlueRetro is a multiplayer Bluetooth controllers adapter for various retro game consoles. Lost or broken controllers? Reproduction too expensive? Need those rare and obscure accessories? Just use the Bluetooth devices you already got! The project is open source hardware & software under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 & Apache-2.0 licenses respectively. It's built for the popular ESP32 chip. Wii, Switch, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S & generic HID Bluetooth (BR/EDR & LE) devices are supported. Parallel 1P (NeoGeo, Supergun, JAMMA, Handheld, etc), Parallel 2P (Atari 2600/7800, Master System, etc), NES, PCE / TG16, Mega Drive / Genesis, SNES, CD-i, 3DO, Jaguar, Saturn, PSX, PC-FX, JVS (Arcade), Virtual Boy, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, GameCube & Wii extension are supported with simultaneous 4+ players using a single adapter.

What are you all looking out for or forward to these days?

It *wasn't too long ago* that it seemed like every couple of months a shiny new MiSTer core or Analogue product was dropping to a ton of community fanfare, but things have understandably slowed down a little bit recently (especially as platforms like the MiSTer start to butt up against hardware limitations). So I thought I'd ask what, if anything, you all are looking forward to in the FPGAGaming scene these days? For me personally, I'm really excited to see what happens with FPGAzumSpass' **N64 core** that's currently in development, especially since it was often considered to be outside of the realm of what's possible with the MiSTer's current DE10-Nano FPGA devboard platform. Of course there's also srg320's MiSTer Saturn core in the works, but as I'm not that into Saturn because I never had one growing up, I'm a little less hyped up about it. So yeah... what are you all looking forward to in this space?

Favorite MiSTer ITX Option?

Hey all, lately I've been tired of seeing more poor [MiSTer FPGA](https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Wiki_MiSTer/wiki) board sitting around naked, so I've been considering getting one of the many adapters out there to put it into a proper Mini-ITX PC case. Here are some of the options that I know about and have been considering: [Jammix](https://www.jammix.io/) -- Pretty cool but also pretty expensive. As someone who mostly just uses their MiSTer to play on HDTVs via HDMI, it does way more than I personally need (analog i/o, jamma). [Ironclad Plus](https://www.d3fmod.com/product/mini-itx_ironclad_plus/) -- Similar to the Jammix, but without Jamma edge connectors. Still way overkill for me and also on the expensive side. Also seems to be out of stock more often than Jammix. [ATLANTIS for MiSTer](https://battyetech.com/products/atlantis-for-mister-fpga-adapter-board-for-mini-itx-atx-and-compatible-at-pc-cases) -- Cheap as chips, but seemingly pretty bare bones. Does the job of allowing you to mount your MiSTer in an ITX-compatible case, and seems to support various power supply hookups, but it looks like there is some DIY work and possibly soldering involved. Also, seems to be out of stock right now. [3D printable ITX adapters](https://www.printables.com/model/75977-mister-fpga-and-usb-mini-itx) -- I have a 3D printer, so I'm open to the idea of printing out an ITX adapter jig, but I'd be missing out on a lot of the convenience of the more expensive options when it comes to routing I/O, power handling, etc. So anyway, I'm thinking about it! What do you all think about the various ITX mounting options? Do you have a case for your MiSTer system?

Remapping keyboard on C64 core?

I want to play with the C64 core, but I have an ordinary PC keyboard plugged into the MiSTer, and it is incredibly hard to find the right keys for things like the double quote. Is there some obscure file I can write to remap the keyboard just for the C64 core? I don't necessarily want to change the global MiSTer keymap because I also want to use other computer cores, and switching the keymap back and forth is going to get old quickly.

Welcome to /m/fpgagaming!

Hi all, welcome to /m/fpgagaming! After migrating from Reddit this little section of the Fediverse is dedicated to following news and making conversation about FPGA-based retro gaming devices like the open source MiSTer platform, products like the Analogue Pocket, and a whole bunch more! There are a couple of reasons why we've migrated from Reddit to Kbin (part of "the fediverse"): 1. Despite the recent Reddit protests, the leadership of Reddit has not only shown zero interest in significantly changing their plans but, more importantly, pretty open contempt for their community of moderators and users. During the blackout I gave Reddit a lot of time to make things better, if not right, but things only seemed to get worse. No matter what happens from here on out, it seems clear that Reddit ultimately intends to milk and exploit its community. 2. The open source and decentralized "Fediverse" (made up of Kbin, Lemmy, Mastodon, Misskey, Pixelfed, Peertube, and other services) represents a better alternative to corporate social media and a healthier, more community-driven vision for the internet as a whole. I believe in that vision and want to support it, so I am weening myself off of corporate social media in favor of the community-driven fediverse. With tons of cool stuff in the rear view mirror and a bunch more on the horizon, I hope you'll join us in rebuilding this niche little community from the ground up on a new platform that's owned and operated by the community. I'll be doing my best to find good and interesting content to post here, but I could really use all of your help so feel free to join in! (Of course, you'll need an account on one of the many Kbin or Lemmy servers to make the most out of this place!) Thanks all! :)
