Just a touch of "Do as I say, not as I do", though his overall philosophy is still generally applicable.

Most certainly worse with the intended malice. All the more ironic that many critics and audiences didn't catch on that the over-the-top violence was meant as a satire according to director Paul Verhoeven. In the peak of Arnold/Stallone/Van Damme we got this absurdist dystopian action flick. Similar occurred with his adaptation Starship Troopers.

Robocop (1987) ![](https://media1.tenor.com/m/C3lBG7AwoOgAAAAC/dont-touch-me-man-robo-cop.gif)
His portrayal of the self aware hologram Vic on DS9 was always a highlight for me. In the midst of an ongoing war epic, they'd sprinkle in moments for Fontaine to cheer/distract the crew and audience. His beautiful voice helped Nog through the loss of his leg and the PTSD incurred from battle. He got Odo to remove the proverbial stick from his ass. Plus, he helped to orchestrate a ridiculous heist on the holodeck in order to save his program. He will be missed. Episode premise: > Kivas Fajo is determined to add the unique Data to his prized collection of one-of-a-kind artefacts and, staging Data's apparent death, he imprisons him aboard his ship. We know that Data is later logically coerced to lie in "Clues" to protect the crew, but this appears to be a decision all his own. Or did he not in fact actually fire the weapon?

Further speculation and erstwhile hope: might a time displaced Trip possibly appear? edit: so, upon getting home, there is now an update to at least part of the film's content taking place during the ["Lost Era"](https://youtu.be/zHktp9gmkbE?si=T7oFnD1Fhfq5Rz0E) From [Memory Alpha](https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Trek:_The_Lost_Era): The "Lost Era" concept was developed by Pocket editor Marco Palmieri, who defined it as the period of history between the apparent death of James T. Kirk aboard the Enterprise-B in 2293 and the launch of the Enterprise-D in 2363 . So now if nothing else, we have the inclusion of a younger Captain Rachel Garrett of "Yesterday's Enterprise" fame.
While going down the rabbit hole on IMDB, I decided to look at Mark Allen Shepherd, the [actor](https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0974122/?ref_=m_ttfcd_cl20) for Morn's credits. 4. Just 4 and 3 of them are uncredited as Morn across the golden age Trek shows. Technically, there's a fifth as the bar patron who sits in Morn's chair in "Who Mourns for Morn?," but that's just the same actor without makeup. The last is some film called ["Babylon Vista"](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0306500/) which, based on the cover, looks like a low budget soft-core porn disguised as an indie comedy. No trailer, no pictures, no reviews (despite the 8.0/10 rating), and no box-office. Best guess is that it was slapped together and shelved for the sake of recouping losses like WB has been prone to do of late. Altogether weird shit. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/a5c6f64d-fe12-4c06-8123-6062c0d47932.jpeg) ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/4202ebfb-cdac-4d2e-988a-83a3c8c16278.png)
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/12779586 > With the dwindled population and organization of the Romulan Star Empire near the end of the 24th century, who will step up as the next big player? The Federation generally expands by diplomacy and comradery. The Klingons have had time since their civil war to get their shit together. The Orion Syndicate typically stays on the outskirts, but the opportunity is there. The Dominion had been a non-player since the treaty, but then who actually expects them to ignore the situation? The Borg as we know them in that time period are gone. (Insert new faction/random Delta Quadrant race) appears to mix things up. I'm not familiar with any Beta Canon or STO lore, so if any of this gets addressed, I'm curious to hear of it.
Best when read with a Kiwi accent
As was predicted by the Bene Gesserit.
The DOT-7 drones appear in the early seasons of DISCO in the mid 23rd century. I know, modern show serving as a prequel to TOS puts things out of whack. However, they are canon.
