Yeah, because it concerned me with my large collection of CDs I can remember warnings decades ago they were estimated to have a seven year life span. I'm pleased to say all mine have well and truly surpassed the seven year mark.

I don’t see an indication of a plot,

With a spoiler that large right in front of you staring at you with goofy eyes as the piglins run past in the overworld!? I will predict the plot revolves around our Jumanjiesque heros saving the overworld from the horror of the underworld that is spilling over or released into the overworld. They will save Steve and Alex and go on to save the world through teamwork!

    Agreed.

"I've been in HR since '95, so yeah, I'm old, lol. Noticed a shift in how we view old social media posts? Those wild nights you don't remember but got posted? If they're at least a decade old, they're not as big a deal now. But if it was super illegal, immoral, or harmful, you're still in trouble.

As for nudes, they can be both the problem and the solution.

To sum it up, like in the animate movie 'The Incredibles': 'If everyone's special, then no one is.' If no image can be trusted, no excuse can be doubted. 'It wasn't me' becomes the go-to, and nobody needs to feel ashamed or suicidal over something fake that happens to many.

Of course, this is oversimplifying things in the real world but society will adjust. People won't kill themselves over this. It might even be a good thing for those on the cusp of AI and improper real world behaviours - 'Its not me. Its clearly AI, I would never behave so outrageously'.

I'm with you. There are some things in life that are just obvious without having to be told. You don't go around punching workmates in the face and they don't specifically have to put that in the onboarding. You don't walk around a kid's playground with no pants. You don't continue to accept nudes from other people after you start a relationship.

    Thoughts about adding subwoofers?

I've got an old Yamaha YST-SW320 which has a 10" downward firing speaker, active servo tech, and puts out 250W and weights in at 18kg. It's putting out the bass just as well as it did in 2001 when it was new. Its a pretty good sub for a living room setup and rattles the walls and doors in that low 30Hz or less range. It hides beside a sofa the sits on the right hand wall in a relatively small room. I would be especially interested in knowing how people that have added a sub in a living room home theatre setup feel after running another sub for a time. Was it worthwhile? I'm wondering how something like the SVS PB-2000 sub would pair with this? Do I really need to worry about matching subs? Is it a thing? I assume I'll place them diagonally opposite one another, angled to avoid standing waves. BTW, not my gear in the pic, its just a pic of the subwoofer. I've got 5.1.2 and elac speakers, with Energy rears. EDIT: Thanks. I'll see if anyone's got an option to try before I buy. If not I'll probably stick with the single sub for the foreseeable future.

What was the point of this? The disturbing sex? More insecurity and perhaps a desire to "own" it or an effort to rewrite your history. She makes the most recent memory of doing this stuff with her. This is now the predominant memory when you think about that sex.

    Do I bring this up?

Depends, I guess. I'd want to know if she has gotten this out of her system or if this is just the start of it. I can't believe she has just purged her insecurities just like that. Make-up sex is hardly likely to have changed some basic personality flaws. You're hardly likely to get the real answers you want either.

Is she actually fine now or is there still an issue?

I reckon there is still an issue. She might have gotten some of it, much of it, out of her system. But as they say, forewarned is forearmed.

I basically don't have one. I shave with a safety razor and the shaving soaps have a higher fat content compared to can foam. Wash with a flannel and Lux soap once in a while in the shower I use Nivea Hydrating Day Cream.

Experiences with media not performing as expected? www.demolandia.net

I use a lot of media sourced on the internet, mostly .mp4 or .mkv files. For example, one source that gives me problems is Youtube "surround sound" test videos. I often feel the surround sound is not as "advertised" in the media title. The surround sound does seem to output to the different channels but it feels more like a virtual or All Channels fake-surround to me. My downloaded files from demolandia.net sound far better and convince me my setup is good. My kids think the Atmos file 'Audiosphere' is great. The audio clearly bounces around my 'audio sphere' and I've had more entertainment from that video file than many others I have. Is this a case of the media not being what is advertised, or a codec issue that my Receiver can't handle? Or something else? Any thoughts?

I can't even tell which is which. Based on the beef patties I had last night, the right is the meat. But the left could be meat too - but cooked by a heathen on a very very low grill. But as you say, who cares if it tastes great. I don't even need Beyond meat to taste like meat if it tastes delicious.

Let me know what you think after you try some atmos tracks. I'm curious what you think about the difference between those mixed for atmos and the usual forced-surround-through-all-speakers most amps offer.

You might just change once you hear the sound quality difference between the low-fi Spotify tracks and the hi-fi or "Master" quality of Tidal or Quobuz even without atmos. Spotify takes the cake for accessibility and convenience though.

Most of the services have a month free trial after you sign up with your credit card - just cancel inside the first month and you won't be charged.

I must be getting old because comfortable seats factors into my choice of theatre these days! We've got some theatres with nice seats in my local area but the sound experience, while okay, just doesnt have the spatial separation that I get at home.

Its probably similar in other places, but where I live, between public holidays, 10 sick days a year, shutdowns over Christmas and New Years, and annual leave you will be working four day weeks and paid for five days for significantly more than half the year anyway.

I liked it for all the reasons.

The short skirts were a bonus for me but perhaps a handicap to getting a decent rating. I've always thought it should have gotten a better reception than it did.

Are you using a music streaming service for Dolby Atmos Music?

I'm currently trialing a couple of hi resolution music streaming services - Quobuz and Tidal and I'm interested in Atmos music releases which are becoming more and more common. Tidal definitely has the edge of Quobuz for atmos releases but its also pretty expensive at NZD$30 a month, slightly more than Quobuz and about the same as Spotify premium (which doesnt have atmos afaik). Any one using any other services? Do you feel you're getting value for money?

Are there any more guides for Moderators and about editing communities? e.g. can images and banners be edited after creation? Where exactly are the mod tools options to found as a moderator? I'm very new to this and there is very little that is obvious to me.
This basic guide is very helpful but where can I find more? thanks in advance

Upgrading - Yamaha RX-A4A with ELAC Debut DFR52 speakers

The title says it all really. I going to upgrade to a RX-A4A. I use my home theatre everyday as the main TV in the living area. The living area is a rectangular 4m x 5m room, carpeted, and fully open to the rest of the open plan living area on the lefthand side. I've been using Energy floor standing speakers as my mains but I intend to move them to the back to replace a couple of Energy bookshelf speakers. I have a Yamaha downward firing sub front right that I run fairly hot. Any thoughts on the match? Any thoughts about the speakers? They'd be close to the top end of my budget.

    bad for carbon sequestration,

The trim is negligible when you are talking about carbon sequestration in the scheme of things too. I'm not sure how the other points stand up either - but the timing would suggest it is an insult to the labour.
