You can change the folder structure but I don't think that matters. Rclone your libary folder and that's it. If you want to save some space, exclude thumbs and encoded videos folder. You can take out videos and images if you ever need your backup.

Never had any breaks with immich. Immich libary is backuped daily to external provider. Data Retention is managed by them, so I only need to run my scripts.

The libary (upload folder) is the only thing you need to backup. I don't think it is more complicated than any other folder with subfolders. You can always start from zero

An option to set a cache limit would be nice. Caching is okay, as long as you can clear the cache. Something like Mastodon caching. You can prune all remote media via tootctl

I am using connect too. I used Liftoff before, it is pretty good too, but I think connect has a better UI. Arctius is even nicer in UI, but is missing some features.

Moshidon is better if you want to check if pictures have alttext. Moshidon can show the public timeline of other instances in your feed too. You can get more input this way. Try it out, play around with both and decide which one fits most for you 🌞

Libretranslate is FOSS and you can even selfhost it.

Then there is Translate you, it uses multiple engines 🐱

The only thing I am missing right now, is the ability to increase the icon size and community name under the post title 🤔

I tried Arctius, it looks good but misses a few features. Maybe I give it another try in the future.

I use Liftoff, it is good but the design is a little bit boring, but Liftoff is very useable as a daily driver and works fine.

I discovered Connect yesterday, it is a good match if you want a good design and features. It has a new post button like Liftoff. I like this. Connect seems to be a good match for me.

Voyager was not my case, did not like it. Tastes are different. Same for Sync

For Mastodon, I use Moshidon. I like it very much

One big DB will be a single point of failure. You will not benefit from much more speed, the only thing which is "easier" is backup.

I use different DBs for different stacks. If one hangs up or messed up completly, it won't affect others

I use it with Nextcloud but as WebDAV setup. Be careful with the paths! If you use a subfolder don't add / at the beginning.

Gerade in dieser Preisklasse eine absolute Frechheit, vor allem kann man da nicht einmal abwählen... Mein Kollege der dieser Problem hat sagte auch, er hätte den nicht gekauft, wenn er das vorher gewusst hätte. Allerdings ist es ja so, das die großen und schweren Geräte mit Aufbauservice, dann hinterher aus Bequemlichkeit nicht wieder zurück gegeben werden. Dauert ja alles...

Ein Freund mit seinem HP-Drucker habe ich allerdings sehr fix überzeugen können, das Ding schnellstmöglich zu widerrufen. 30 Tage Frist sei Dank bei Coolblue, war dies auch kein Problem. Reklamationsgrund "Onlinezwang"

Wurde anstandslos komplett erstattet. An der Stelle sei Coolblue für Kundensupport gelobt!

Auch ein großer Hinweis, insbesondere bei HP muss da dran bei jedem Produkt, wenn es nur mit der Smartapp geht. Da sollte auch dann groß dran stehen: "Benötigt eine dauerhafte Internetverbindung"

Dasselbe bei Samsung Fernsehern...die kosten tausende, damit im Hub Werbebanner angezeigt werden. Da sollte das auch dran stehen. 😒

The permissions are not set right with the cap drop abilities. Comment out cap drop lines fir the first start. The files are created now. Then you can undo outcommenting and restart again
