i didn't expect serious answers here, but this was a nice read,

so the various jobs around computers were kind of obsoleted, but the job description just shifted and the title remained valid most of the times,

now i'm interested to see what we'll do 20 years from now rather than just being annoyed by the "don't learn ${X}, it's outdated" guys

an unholy ensemble of 4 external drives and 2 cloud storage providers managed with git annex
capacity: 3 TB + "pay as you go"
available: 1TB
used: 1.01TB
the drives were originally 5, then 1 failed and added the "pay as you go" s3 provider to pick up the slack
git annex handles redundancy and versioning, i configured it to keep 2 copies of every file across the 4 drives and the s3 provider, then i got 1tb of free onedrive space from my university and i'm in the process of making a full backup of everything in there
not really backup as much as redundant storage, but i think it's close enough

Da quel che ho capito nessuno l'ha ancora specificato, però questi due metodi mi sembrano plausibili

Metodo 1: rendere illegali applicazioni con crittografia e2e,

Metodo 2: richiedere che ogni applicazione con crittografia e2e mandi una copia in chiaro di ogni messaggio alla polizia postale prima che venga crittografato

Mi fai ripensare al giorno di scuole aperte in cui sono andato a vedere il liceo, avevano fatto uno spettacolo carino con i droni nella palestra, io da bravo ciambotto non vedevo l'ora di imparare a controllarli a scuola, poi una volta iscritto ho scoperto che potevamo usarli solo nei giorni di scuole aperte per farli vedere ai ragazzini delle medie.

in realtà fino alla versione 3.9.7 era open source,
però hanno chiuso le versioni successive.
comunque non so perché sul sito dicano ancora di avere codice aperto.

più che "a prova di utonto" sento spessissimo dire che linux "è 100000 volte più sicuro di windows" o che "linux non ha virus", purtroppo questa notizia mostra che effettivamente esistono virus per linux.
inoltre ogni sistema operativo offre protezioni diverse ai propri utenti e ha diverse pratiche consigliate, questo è un esempio in cui gli sviluppatori e gli utenti hanno voluto utilizzare su linux lo stesso sistema di distribuzione del software usato su windows e sono rimasti esposti a rischi evitabili

Un promemoria che linux non è invulerabile a prescindere, bisogna utilizzare le misure di sicurezza e gli strumenti messi a disposizione, soprattutto utilizzare quando possibile il gestore di pacchetti della propria distribuzione o flatpak, in quanto i programmi a disposizione in questi modi sono soggetti ad un certo controllo e i pacchetti sono firmati dai manutentori, rendendo molto più difficile la manomissione dei file scaricati
