I'm not exactly sure whether or not this is good, but my gut feeling is that this sounds like it will very quickly become very annoying permission hell.

Tales of Arise. The most bland plain characters ever, uninteresting exploration, plot was SO predictable, and the combat felt stiff. Kinda wrote off the entire series mostly, except I do like Berseria even though it's combat also sucks.

As someone who dual booted, I agree, don't bother. If you've got any important files, back em up to a cloud or something, and wipe. Dual booting gave me so many issues, and eventually I broke my windows install somehow anyway. Just go with a full wipe, it'll save you a Lotta trouble.

Bro when is gaming gonna get over this idea that the ONLY way to block cheaters is with some kernel level spyware. Its fucking ridiculous dog

Imo it doesn't though. Thor misreads this as a legal document, but it is not, this is initiative, which is essentially to get the conversation started. If you'll look at other initiatives, you'll find they read pretty similarly. Stop trying to poke flaws in it like it's a legal document, because it isn't and isn't meant to be!

Huh... This reminds me of when Neuro used to use that one public model, then got her own by Anny, probably to avoid situations just like this. Honestly I assumed Filian had either come to an agreement with the creator or had already gotten a new model made but based on the old one. Seems like a stupid move on her part to not take the Neuro route of make your own model based on the one you used so its completely yours

For me the straw that broke the camels back was the fucking updates. I got so tired of Windows forcing updates, and I never could get the registry edits to disable it to stick. Besides, you shouldn't have to EDIT THE REGISTRY to just turn off updates! But there's also stuff I'd really miss if I went back (I've been on Nobara for a year now) like the package management on Linux. I love that I can choose to update on MY terms, and that almost everything updates during the process. I have a few random jar apps for Switch hacking stuff, and an appimage for R2Modman, but besides that I don't have to worry about needing to download the latest version of shit all the time. AND, having most of what you need just available on a software store is so nice. Never mind that its so much safer to not have to download random .exe's from all over the internet. These days the only thing I actually struggle with is modding certain games. Like BG3 took me awhile, but then I found out there's a Linux mod manager called lampray and it works perfectly. Then there's also the fact you have to know how to do DLL overrides for things like bepinex or anything that adds some kind of DLL. But otherwise, it just works and infuriates me less than windoze

Wait, how is Starship failing? They successfully returned from re-entry and made a soft landing with both the booster and starship itself. Seems to me that it's well on track?

This really was awesome to watch live. Specifically I remember the part where the camera was almost completely covered, and the fin was barely visible. But juuuuuust barely, you could see that the fin was actuating, and it was alive! And then the crowd gets hype. That was the moment where I was like, wait, this could still happen!

If you liked Debian, definitely Pop as it's basically Debian but with easier to install nvidia drivers. But also if you liked using Fedora, I'd consider Nobara, it's a distro maintained by a Redhat engineer and has an nvidia image like Pop OS. Stay tf away from Manjaro, you might wanna look into EndeavorOS if you want Arch for gaming

Definitely time to just use debian, mint MX, or pop os even. I did a lot of hopping though and I've settled on Nobara KDE. Mint was great but the Bluetooth was finicky for some reason, and debian is mostly just ubuntu with some gui stuff removed. PopOS is basically just debian until COSMIC but still good too.

We need to go back to pre-discord and bring back forums man. Don't get me wrong, discord has its uses, all my friends use it, but discord killing forums and websites was really bad for the internet as a whole. Like look at dolphin, made before discord, it has its own website, its own forums. Hopefully if Nintendo does ever come after dolphin they'll at least be able to keep the website and forums up.

God I fucking hope so man. I'm so tired of Nvidia not working on Wayland properly. It'll be so nice to have VRR and gSync on Wayland without the awful flickering.

You could say Gen Z "chooses" a lot of things. Gen Z "chooses" not to buy houses (we can't afford them) Gen Z "chooses" to be mentally ill (not even 10 years ago, "autism" was just "the weird kid") Gen Z "chooses" to rent Gen Z "chooses" not to buy food Gen Z "chooses" to let climate change fuck the earth Gen Z "chooses" to not have kids (although here we actually don't want them, but also couldn't afford them) and so on.

The nvidia 545 drivers are an absolute dumpster fire. Even for beta drivers they are easily the worst drivers I've ever used. They claim to fix the vrr gsync bug tho... so as soon as they fix gestures broadly everything else, maybe they'll be good

I just moved and I was literally in shock when Mint auto-added my Dads printer INSTANTLY and I printed on it first try no problem. I have literally had so many issues with printers (and this one) and I honestly expected printing to be out of the question on Linux so I'm definitely impressed.

I always imagined it was because of the Hurq invading. Like we know that the Vulcans were warlike at one point, so maybe the Klingons were more... normal? Maybe they had a sect of warriors that basically took over after the Hurq invaded and slowly they became a warrior culture?
Last time I tried gaming on Linux, this was the thing that made me switch. Ironically all my games worked fine, but no GSync with more than one monitor active killed me because I really like watching stuff while I game.
Something I realized while doing radshares, Warframe needs to replace the recruiting chat with an actual LFG system. I've been playing Warframe for about 10 years now, and the recruiting chat literally has not changed since release. It's still extremely basic and simple. I've had people try to go into radshares intentionally bringing the wrong relic, to try to get a free relic crack. I've had people who didn't read correctly and accidentally brought the wrong relic. I've had people leave because it's taking too long to recruit people in. You have people spamming recruiting asking for people to help them, people spamming with dojo recruiting, etc. It's filled with crap. An actual LFG system would be so insane for quality of life. Imagine if you could just type into a search bar "Orokin cell farm" and search up squads doing orokin cell farming on Gabii. Granted there are discords but you really shouldn't need to resort to using third party tools to find games. (tbh this also is true in respect to trading chat and warframe.market, but that's a whole other conversation) TL;DR, recruiting chat is seriously out of date and in need of an update, preferably an actual LFG system which could be used for SO MANY thing.
No idea how this will embed (if at all) on Lemmy, but here's my workshop ship Arctorus.
Nice to use if you get a lil cold in the winter, turn off the pc fans and cook some eggs with this one (AMD CPU recommended)
