Hey, I have to delete your post as it does not fit in this community due to the fact that it is not a question and therefore irrelevant to !asklemmy@lemmy.world. There should be other communities that would welcome general posts like this!

Holy crap lol, when I visited the /u/ModCodeofConduct account recently, all the posts nowadays are simply just trying to find mods for literally a huge range of subreddits. Lmao it's insane seeing the new mods just banning users left and right.

This is why I'm a big supporter of physical media if possible. Sure the actual game may not be on there or something because it's too big or whatnot, however with what the hell is going on with digital companies in the modern videogaming world, yeah no they simply just can not be trusted much with the amount of power they hold. This includes but not limited to: Ubisoft, Steam, EA, Epic Games, etc.

EDIT: Yeah GOG is fine apologies for that, however the well majority of games in the digital world are simply just licenses that these companies have control of.

Right now I use Google One (G-Drive, Photos, etc) on a 200 GB plan because I share this with a really good friend of mine who needs Google Drive storage, and with this I get a VPN on my phone as included with the plan. I also would use iCloud+ on a 50 GB plan merely for backup and the other really useful features such as Hide My Email and Private Relay. Also I would store pretty important data on my iCloud as I do have Advanced Data Protection on which essentially end to end encrypts my iCloud data which is really useful.

I personally moved to Bitwarden from 1Password due to the cost, and I believe for an average user, Bitwarden is definitely the way to go as it is very value-friendly (at $10 USD/year), and it is open-sourced unlike many other proprietary password managers. 1Password may get more features, however it being $3.99 USD/month, many users don't need the extra security features and I strongly believe that common sense is the best security for any user.

Oh man, I usually start off "small" with unlimited money and make suburbs, gradually to high density. Then at some point I'll be like "oh man I should build a great big urban center!" and realize how performance-taxing it is!

Most of the time I just roam around in my city and watch cars move by.

This is what I said to another person:

I’m assuming just current reddit admins are going to take over or getting some certain moderators from subreddits (that aren’t even of high ranking) to take over and remove the higher rankings from power, which then they will be the ones reopening the subreddits.

Now that I read it this sounds like a coup d’état

  • asklemmy Ask Lemmy Lemmy - Why did you leave Reddit?
    Jump
  • hyperyog hyperyog 1 year ago 100%

I left Reddit after the hypocrisy coming from the leadership at Reddit and with their decisions. After the AMA from Spez, it was the final nail in the coffin for my decision to leave Reddit, instead of taking accountability and owning up to their mistakes, they had completely attempted to justify their actions and seeing the developers' work go down the drain was heartbreaking, and I stand in solidarity with them. Even though I might be some minor spec to the entirety of Reddit, I still feel it's important to stand up for the community, even if it doesn't matter to them.

I love your username! And yeah, I like the direction of where Lemmy is going, especially with the number of users migrating. I used to hate how there were so many things going on in Reddit, however here it's a lot more minimalistic as it's still a very small community. Reminds me of simpler times back then.
