cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ml/post/20234044 > Do you know about using [Kubernetes Debug containers](https://kubernetes.io/docs/tasks/debug/debug-application/debug-running-pod/#ephemeral-container)? They're really useful for troubleshooting well-built, locked-down images that are running in your cluster. I was thinking it would be nice if k9s had this feature, and lo and behold, it has a [plugin](https://github.com/derailed/k9s/blob/master/plugins/debug-container.yaml)! I just had to add that snippet to my `${HOME}/.config/k9s/plugins.yaml`, run k9s, find the pod, press enter to get into the pod's containers, select a container, and press Shift-D. The debug-container plugin uses the [nicolaka/netshoot](https://github.com/nicolaka/netshoot) image, which has a bunch of useful tools on it. Easy debugging in k9s!

...and what can they be used for?

Probably because of NSFW geographic locations, like https://omaps.app/U4yUt5ZjzL/Püssi
Organic Maps should be 18+.
I got a Kubernetes survey from The Linux Foundation today and it had a question that asked how Kubernetes impacted my professional life. Good question. Here's my answer: Kubernetes renewed my love for infrastructure and DevOps! As cloud platforms grew more popular, my job function changed; instead of managing services, I was managing "managed" services. I was losing the ability to actually build infrastructure with free, open source software (FOSS), and I was forced to become an expert in proprietary solutions. I switched to FOSS years ago because the idea of writing software for anyone in the world to use and modify - for free - was really inspiring! When I discovered Kubernetes, I was able to work with FOSS infrastructure again! Once I have compute, storage, and networking from the cloud platform, I can install Kubernetes, and *actually* manage my own services again!

Why not use bash-completion? The running example you gave is dangerous - you could end up running one or more of the wrong executables.

Pixelfed instead of Instagram, but its still lacking content and useable mobile apps.
Haven't escaped YouTube yet, but meaning to browse Peertube more.
I've been a Linux-only gamer for years too, thanks to Proton, Vulcan, Lutris, etc. Still waiting for good VR though.
FOSS or GTFO!

Sure, but they also get to advertise that they donated X thousands of dollars to charity, while the truth is that the actual donors get no tax benefits at all. And like OP said, I'd rather use https://charitynavigator.org/ to do my own research before giving money to a corporation to donate to some organization that may be mishandling their funds.

At work the only option I had was to get a Macbook, but I don't like MacOS, so I installed UTM and I run Arch Linux (ALARM for aarch64) as my desktop. It's functional, but of course I'd rather have a beat up, 5 year old Dell or Thinkpad so I could just run Arch natively.

YOLO! I like my commit history to tell a story of hope, defeat, pain, ennui, and triumph. A story filled with cursing and humor. The code is WHAT was done. Comments in the code are WHY something was done. Commit logs are for entertainment purposes, and for batching changes together in bite sized chunks to make PR reviews easier.
That's how I do it anyway...

I've been a Linux gamer for a few years now. I don't have Windows at all. Between Steam's "Steam Play" and Lutris, you can play most games without issue. To find out if the games you want to play will work on Linux, check https://www.protondb.com/ and https://aclist.github.io/. Good luck!

I love the giant, inexpensive tins of ceylon tea at my local international market. If you can afford it, buy a bottle of rose water to add to the tea. Perfection. And of course, don't throw away the leaves - steep them again - the second steeping is even better than the first one.

I'm considering getting a Keychron K8 Pro or Q3 keyboard, but the keycaps don't have backlit letters. Annoyed. Anyone got other recommendations for a bluetooth TKL mechanical keyboard with backlit keys?

It requires the paid version. It isn't available for Android. And it just shouldn't be required - email clients use POP3 or IMAP - those are the standards. I respect that Proton is trying to improve privacy with this app, but I wish they offered the option to use the established protocols too.
evanstucker 2 years ago • 100%
Do you have a recommendation on the least horrible big email company to use for a personal domain? I'm using Proton, but I'm mildly annoyed that they don't provide native IMAP - you have to install their Proton Mail Bridge app.

I know voting feels worthless, but it's necessary to ensure that the system can represent us. Even "deep blue" places are often only like 65% blue - we're really all a shade of purple. As for breaking out of this oppressive duopoly of Democrats and Republicans, you could start volunteering for https://starvoting.org/ and/or https://represent.us/...

Centralized services like Okta will always be big targets. This is a great reason to use self-hostable/decentralized solutions like https://www.keycloak.org/.

This was a great talk about privacy, sanctions, and open source software!

I'm realizing just now that it's anti-communist as well, so probably not ideal for this crowd, but it was kind of the de facto flag for Antifa. Not sure if Antifa is anti-communist, so it may have lost some of its original meaning...

There was a lot of "USSR bad", but there was also "USA bad/aggressive". Basically everyone was bad, stupid, and made poor life choices. After watching more, I'm not recommending it unless you just really want to see an alternate history space race. Too much drama for me personally.

Anyone watching https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/For_All_Mankind_(TV_series) ? It's a pretty interesting show that follows an alternate history where the Soviets also got a man on the moon first.
